We had our wedding on Aug 12 and everything went very well and smoothly. We really enjoy working with both photographers Sam and Ben. They are super friendly and fun to work with and literally keep you laughing at any moment! Both of them provided excellent services. Although it was quite hot at Pleasanton the day-of, but both of them are super professional standing under the Sun and getting "toasted" by laying down on the driveway in order to capture the best moments. We really appreciate for their hard work and totally enjoy working with both. Otis is very good as well who kept us laughing throughout the ceremony and reception. TDE was recommended to us by a good friend who used their services back in 2016. We purchased their Gold Package and ended up using their photographer, videographer, MUA, florals for the head table, backdrop for our wedding arch, decor rental, projector screen rental, and photobooth services. We needed to make a few modifications to the Gold Package based on our needs (ie. remove the MC service and add an additional hour to our photographer's time, etc.) and TDE was very accommodating in tailoring the package to our needs. I mostly worked with Jessica and a lot of the coordination was done remotely using their "service instruction" file. This file was basically a master file that had every detail we wanted to be executed on the day of the wedding. It was very long and thorough and we went through this together at least 10 times. During the entire process, there was a lot of back and forth because most of the work was done remotely however I did appreciate TDE's attention to detail and in the end, it worked out to our advantage. The detail in the service instruction translated to the day of the wedding and they were able to execute exactly to what I envisioned. My favorite services were the MUA and photographer/videographer. Alice is amazing with Asian skintones and hairstyles. I can not rave about her work enough. Ben and our videographer were also really good. I wanted more natural looking photos (less staged and not a big fan of PDA) and they were really good at coming up with more natural poses for me and the groom. The photo editing style was also really good and I can't wait to get our wedding photos printed. I also had a lot of comments on the first draft of the video and they were able to make the exact revisions. Honorable mentions are my head table florals and my bouquet. I really wanted a fuller bouquet with succulents and blush/pale pink peonies (which were unfortunately out of season) and the TDE florist was able to substitute with a very similar type of flower that looked beautiful. Many of our friends had used TDE for their weddings, and I've only heard good things about them. When it finally came to my turn to pick a wedding services company for our big day, I knew that I would pick TDE because of their brand and great reputation in the wedding services industry. We made an appointment with TDE to inquire about the services/packages. During the meeting, they patiently answered all of our questions, and showed us some example photos and videos along the way to explain the different services they offer. After this meeting, it only reassured me that they are the right vendor to choose from --- and I am so glad that we chose them! We had photographers, videographers, make-up artist, florist, wedding emcee, DJ, decorations, and photo booth with them. They also helped us with making the slide shows and background music for the wedding night. I saved myself so much time by choosing TDE! I only needed to let them know exactly what I wanted through their planning document, and Jessica did all of the coordinations to line things up and make them happen! This made it a lot easier for my venue contact person too, since she only had to work with TDE and not 3-4 different vendors! Jessica is our main contact person throughout the process. She is very knowledgeable, responsive and organized - she's just a pleasure to work with. She offers great suggestions and gives you clear options to choose from when needed to make a decision. Our photographers were Sam and Ben. We had them for both the engagement photos and wedding day. They were really easy to work with, and are willing to do everything they can to get the best shot for you. They are so funny too, makes it very comfortable to pose in front of the cameras. They captured a lot of great moments and small details throughout the night, their photos helped me see a lot of things that I missed on our wedding night -- and I am truly thankful that they were there to capture those precious moments that we could not re-create!! I highly recommend having two photographers, and highly recommend having Sam and Ben for your wedding day! My make-up artist was Alice, she is so talented! I got so many compliments on my make-up and hair that night! The make-up she put on me looked very natural, more of a Korean style, yet very stunning. I just loved it! She and her assistant also did all of my bridesmaids' makeup and hair, my mom and also my mother-in-law's make-up and hair. Everyone looked so great and they were all very happy about their make-up and hair! Two of my bridesmaids' hair are more on the softer side and harder for the curly hair to stay all night. Alice noticed it and she went above and beyond to retouch my bridesmaids' hair after she's done with my hair (note, she did not have to retouch my bridesmaids' hair nor expected to, because the package clearly says so). She is so kind that my bridesmaids kept complimenting on how great she is! Our videographers were Christina and George. We had a same-day edit video that we showed the guest during reception, before our first dance. Oh my goodness, they did such a fantastic job! The video captured all of the highlights from the morning all the way to our grand entrance at the reception. I had no idea how they found time to edit the footage to make such a well planned, well flowed video on the same day! The music they paired with went really well with the scenes too! I am super impressed with the video and it showed many of our guests what happened earlier in the day (we started off really early in the morning because we did some Chinese rituals whereby the groom picked up the bride, played door game, and had tea ceremony, etc.). The video also showed the getting ready scenes at the bridal room, our first look, our bridal party entrance and our grand entrance. It was such a great recap of the highlights of the day! The quality of the video only shows how experienced and talented they are. I am very happy that I have two videographers...quite frankly, I didn't think I needed two videographers when I was looking at the package, because I already had two photographers for the night, and I didn't think I would spend time watching those video playbacks. Now that I am looking back, I am REALLY glad that I kept two, because I could never go back to that day to capture those moments with such versatile angles! Our wedding emcee is Otis. He spoke Cantonese and English that night for our mixed crowd, and he managed the flow of the night very well and kept our guests informed. He is very humorous yet very professional. My mom and a lot of my parents' friends are actually his loyal radio fans...so it was just awesome to have him emcee our wedding! I was drawn to TDE because they have a bilingual MCee - Cantonese and English and also because I was press for time and needed a place that would provide multiple services. TDE looked like a good choice, but they weren't. After using them, I am confused to how they have gotten the perfect 5-star reviews. We hired TDE for the following services below. MCee - Otis was late to our vendor walk-through and showed up about 5min before the actually ceremony was to start on THE DAY OF THE WEDDING! He was suppose to be there to coordinate the vendors and tell guests to take there seats and prepare them for the ceremony, but he was late to do so. I had to call TDE office to ask where he was and if I could get his contact info to text him directly. This is the kind of last minute thing I DO NOT want to deal with. The ceremony didn't go as smoothly as planned.  But once the reception starts, he is his charming self and things run a lot smoother. He was exceptional at being a MCee, but poor at being a coordinator and being on time. DJ - The "DJ team" had no clue where to set-up their equipment and had to ask me while I am in the middle of taking pictures with guests. TDE informed me that Otis would coordinate with all the vendors that I booked thru them, so I don't have to get "The Day of Coordinator" but that wasn't the case. Being that Otis is late, the DJ had no idea what to do. That was my initial fear and had asked TDE to make sure that the DJs scoped out the venue before, but my request went unanswered. After the initial hiccups, they did manage to figure things out with the help of my caterer, Mina. Photography/videography - The photographers failed to take pictures of half - HALF! - of the venue: the bar area, the photo booth, and the game area that I have spent so much time decorating. When I asked about the pictures, TDE told me that the photographer was too focused on taking pictures of the guests to take those pictures. He had forgotten to take pictures of the bar, which was where most of the guests were. The bar and photo booth were there the whole night, so I don't see how he did not even manage to snap 1 single picture?!?! There were many excuses, but ultimately I have no pictures of those areas to remember the wedding day by. I'm extremely sad and disappointed. Makeup for Bride and Bridemaids and Mother of the Bride - I don't even know where to start with this. The hair and make-up for the bride was good, but I notice she did not prep my skin at all before starting on the makeup. The makeup artist's assistant was a nightmare. She did not know what she was doing. All the bridesmaids' eyebrows were drawn on lopsided and extremely dark. She didn't use any eye shadow, eyeliner, blush or lipstick on them at all. She just stuck faux lashes on them! When they ask the makeup artist to fix it, they were told, "We only have 20min to work on you, so no time!" This was NOT acceptable. It's both unprofessional and bad customer service. If I knew this was the case, I would not have booked thru them. My bridesmaids ended up redoing or doing their own makeup. For their hair, my bridesmaids had to settle for simpler up-dos because they were told they had no time. It was so painful going thru this on the day of the wedding. I did appreciate that the make-up artists were punctual and called to tell me that they were going to be 5min late, but that did not make the whole ordeal any better. Photobooth - The photobooth was set up at the right time and location and the guests seem to enjoy it. The pictures turned out good. They did a good job and I have no complains here. Cons: The quality of the work was average. They would nickel and dime you for everything - even small things that cost $30-$40. I don't mind this since I know it's a business, but honestly that doesn't make you feel like a valued customer. In the grand scheme of things, they would have gotten so much more service tip from me if they have provided better customer service. I wanted to provide the vendors with dinner, so I checked with TDE to see how many people I should expect, so I can give my caterer a head count. They said 5, but turns out I have to feed 9! Luckily, my caterer was prepared and had enough. But seriously, how can TDE be off by almost half?!? These are extra costs you have to consider because those filet mignons aren't free! Wedding was in June and I just now got my pictures and video - 5 months later... Pros: Their services are cheap compare to what others are charging. They are a one-stop shop where you can get multiple services bundle together. People who works there are relatively nice and Otis is a great MCee when he is on time. They offered and I accepted an album for their mistakes, but even the pictures in the album were pixelated. No quality control whatsoever. read more

We didn't want to deal with multiple vendors and contracts, so when we stumbled upon TDE and the difference packages that they offer, it felt like a no-brainer. We went to multiple bridal fairs and compared to other vendors, TDE's packages are competitively priced. They have different packages that could cover most of wedding needs like photographer, videographer, hair and make up, floral, DJ, emcee, decorations, etc. We went with the basic package and added some items as we planned our wedding. We didn't feel pressured to purchase anything we didn't feel we needed, so I appreciate that from TDE/Jessica. Planning a wedding is stressful and I would find myself not knowing where to focus or where to even begin but after each meeting with Jessica, I felt relieved and on track. If I could give TDE 10/5 stars, I would! Planning a wedding during COVID is incredibly daunting, but with TDE's help, it went better than I could have ever imagined. Our month of coordinator, Carina, was a rockstar and was on top of all the details, keeping us calm and helping us to be present with our guests on the day of the wedding. My mom also loved her! Carina and her assistant also made our outdoor venue look stunning, setting up all of our table decorations and other details exactly as we had discussed. Jessica was our logistics point person and did a fantastic job coordinating with our other TDE vendors. The TDE florist was AWESOME and helped to pick out the perfect autumn flowers when we had to postpone our wedding from June to October. We hired TDE to assist us with the sound, music, and emcee for our wedding at the Bently Reserve in October. During the whole process they were professional and went above and beyond our expectations. At first, I was concerned that the sound would not be sufficient for our venue and required them to do a site visit, they agreed with no hesitation. During the site visit, they did a thorough job and listened. For the music selection, we brought our own but they had some back up music just in case we forgot ours. From our initial meeting, we knew we wanted Otis Fang to emcee our wedding b/c he was easy to work with and understood what we need. I would say that most of our family and friends think of us as a very critical couple. We thought that we would never find an emcee, and DJ that we liked. We visited numerous wedding galleries all over town, and 3 months before our wedding we found "The Day Entertainment". They came from one of my friend's highest recommendations. At the beginning, we were hesitating about taking the video service, since we were uncertain if it is "a need", and we're already off with our budget, but the outcome speaks it all! We're so glad that we have kept the video service, it is definitely remarkable! Especially for the highlight, it is a fantastic idea that they summarized our wedding day into an approximately 10 minute's video clip, so that we can easily show it to friends, who had missed our wedding. We hired TDE for the following wedding services: MCEE, DJ, videography, flowers, and chair sashes. They did a fantastic job, and we are so glad that we signed up with them. I had the most incredible and fun wedding. My wedding was over my expectation, got lots of compliments form friends and family. Since The Day is a one stop wedding service shop, i decided to hire them for everything i need for my wedding. From engagement session, photogrpher, videographer (same day edit), decoration, photopbooth, day of coordinator,mc, dj and flower almost everything they offered. The only thing i have to worry about is venue and my dress. It was a stree free experience. I started talking to Carina a year before my wedding but i was too worry because thinking back they did such a good job i didn't have to plan it so early. Whenever i call Carina for questions, she always pick up or she will return my call within 10mins. Otis was a great mc i also hired him to be my officiant. He did a great job. Also my side of the family speaks Cantonese and my husband side of the family speaks Mandarin and all my friends speaks English so Otis spoke all three languages at my wedding! The flower was beautiful, everything we talked about and they delivered. For the photobooth, you can design your own template and free download! Decoration was so beautiful, i was so impressed, it was everything i wanted. 1 year later, I wanted my video to be edit again and Otis was happy to do that for me and it turns out great. The video was very important to me because it captured the most important event of my life. Otis was happy to help me about it even thought it was his busy season. Our wedding was in Maui but we decided to host a reception in San Jose for my extended family and others who could not make it to Maui. The majority of the guests would be Chinese. My husband, his family and our friends can only understand English. So my requirement was an emcee who can speak Chinese and English. My husband did not want karaoke which is the normal entertainment for a Chinese Wedding Reception at a Chinese Restaurant. I read all the glowing reviews on Yelp for TDE and made my husband the official contact person (his one major contribution to the planning). :)))) That is what he gets for asking for a DJ. We were on a tight schedule because we started this process exactly 2 months prior our SJ Reception. But we spent most of the next 6 weeks working out the details for our wedding in Maui. Otis worked out some of the details with my husband over the phone and via email but about 2 weeks before the event is when things picked up momentum. Otis asked us for a timeline which I quickly draft up. It was missing some KEY details like dress change, cake cutting, first dance, all the various important songs we wanted them to play. I was hoping to avoid the dress change, dancing and cake cutting because for us it was just a celebration not really the wedding day. And for song, gosh I don't know. Since Otis and our photographer insisted that we have these elements, I made it happen and am so grateful that they pushed us. The guests were expecting all of it. It was like a second wedding. It turns out that Otis was not our emcee for the night. It was Jackson. Jackson met us on Thursday prior the reception (Sunday). He was very friendly, funny, and younger than expected. He were very relieved. Jackson spoke Cantonese and English for the reception. He was funny and engaging. He really grabbed the audiences attention. He even incorporated some kissing games which thankfully was not only about us. We highly recommend Jackson. The DJ, did not get his name, was good. He played the songs were mentioned but goofed our first dance song. It was suppose to be E Pili Mai by Kealii Reichel but it ended up being something we did not recognize. TDE was honestly the best and very accommodating! I really only needed a couple services and they didn't push me for their packages which I am very appreciative of. We asked for their photography (Jeff), hair/makeup (Alice and Trina), and the backdrop! Jeff was the best with being flexible with our crazy schedule and even helped us out with the different shots that would look good. Alice and Trina were also the best with our hectic schedule and made great conversation! Alice was also great with providing what would look great on me and even changed up the look so my pictures would look good! The team was very flexible with what I wanted my backdrop to look like and even tried something they haven't done before. Everything came out great and I am so happy I went with TDE!! He has a very clear and deep voice that carries through the crowd as he speaks. Loved his voice. My whole family loved him too. He was very entertaining and funny. Found TDE from ccyp.com after I finally decided to have a MC that can speak both English and Chinese. Their package price is very reasonable and actually even lower than what we would expect based upon all great reviews on yelp. Therefore, there is no brainer to book Otis as my MC and their DJ services. If I could find TDE earlier, I would book some of their other services as well. Otis is very professional on what he is doing. He worked with me on my complicated timeline got from my wedding planner. He could just follow it, but he made many practical suggestions and thought of details and time constrains for me. After our talk, the modified timeline from him made so much more sense to me and much easier to follow. I was very stressed during the last phrase of my wedding planning due to work, new house remodeling and lots of last minute wedding preparation. He talked me thru and encouraged me to relax and enjoy my day! I would say he really delivered what he promised on his services and much more than we expected. Once we entered our reception room, our hearts can tell us everything would be great. By the way, I didn't have much time to work on music list rather on some important ones. The music DJ played through out the reception was perfect. Got so many compliments from my guests about how great Otis hosted my wedding. All guests enjoyed a lot on his speeches in both languages, fun games with great guests interaction and the whole atmosphere was incredible. I am usually really picky and have very high standard on everything. I wish I could give TDE more stars. Without TDE, I can't imagine how my wedding would be like. Thank you very much, Otis! TDE did an amazing job at our wedding this weekend. I really like the fact that they are truly the one-stop wedding shop. We hired TDE to do our ceremony backdrop/drapery, reception lighting, emcee and DJ. We worked mainly with Otis when it came time to planning all the little details of the wedding and he was great! Otis was very responsive, accommodating, friendly and very patient. Even though he was not available on our wedding day, he was able to communicate everything that we needed to the emcee and the lighting/DJ crew and was literally there for us till the day of, making sure everything was in order. Our emcee, Jackson, did a fantastic job! He spoke both English and Cantonese during our reception as requested and everyone was very appreciative of that. He was also on top of the activities and events for the night and made sure we kept within our schedule. He definitely took the stress off of us for the evening! The lighting crew and DJ were also great. We had a few odd request regarding the drapery backdrop but they were able to work with us and provided a beautiful background for our ceremony. We also appreciated the fact that the DJ came up to us to ask our permission to change up the music and lighting during the dancing portion of our reception. Most of my communication with Carina was done via email, and I really apprepriate Carina's prompt response in addressing all my questions. Both Carina and Otis (the emcee) are very professional. They had an example of the banquet rundown and gave us a walkthrough of the rundown when we first met with them, so I didn't have to be stressed out about what to do or what activities we should have during the banquet. We hired Otis and Carina to provide MC (including ceremony) and DJ services for our wedding last Saturday (12/01). The wedding was wonderful! Much of the credit should go to them. Two thumbs up! We'd highly recommend them. Otis has very nice personality. That gave us a good start and eased our anxiety significantly. He was punctual with appointments, creative, confident, professional and clearly experienced. He showed genuine interest in making things work for us. Here are a few highlights on why we gave them a five-star: 1. We worked with Otis to have a detailed rundown ready before the wedding. During the process, Otis was very flexible in taking into consideration of what we wanted to do. For example, we prepared a few slideshows for the wedding; my wife also proposed a couple game ideas. Otis incorporated them into the rundown seamlessly. 2. We also hired Otis to host our ceremony. He organized a rehearsal the day before and went through the ceremony process with all the participants carefully. That really helped and gave us the confidence that everything would turn out great the next day. 3. Otis is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. This worked out really well for our wedding because we have guests with these native tongues. Otis made sure all of them were kept informed and entertained. 4. Otis was on top of everything throughout the wedding day. He kept the guests highly involved and entertained (surely, he also knew when to give them time to eat;-). For example, the games were easy but very entertaining. He was also a quick decision maker. During our wedding, the cake tower was slightly leaning toward one side. He suggested us to move the cake cutting part ahead immediately as it may fall. He also suggested us to move the projector to a better location after he saw the actual table placement in reception area on that day. 5. About the DJ service from Carina. Great! My wife provided songs for a few special activities and Carina played them smoothly. All other music and songs were beautiful and went well with the flow nicely. BTW, we also hired photographers and videographers recommended by Otis. The final product is not ready yet, but the crew were very punctual and worked tirelessly during the wedding (most times, they captured the moments without our attention; but they also provided ideas on how to pose for photos and act for videos). Although one of the games I suggested to play at the reception was not as well-received as I had hoped, Otis carried on and gave his best shot to get people to participate. My wife and I choose to have The Day Entertainment to take care of our wedding's emcee, photography and video. We are very satisfied. Even before the wedding, Otis, our emcee, was very helpful in helping us create and organize the wedding rundown. He provide very useful advice to help us avoid problematic situations that we should have but did not think of. The preparation we made according to his advice was help avoided many awkward moments and keep the whole wedding process smooth. Beside being a great wedding planner, Otis is also excellent emcee. He was able to maintain the attention of all the guests throughout the wedding reception and kept them entertained. I been to other wedding receptions which is very boring because the emcee fail to caught the guests attention, so I knew how important keeping the guest entertained is. Many of the guests told me they have fun attending and think the reception was very interesting. Due to the traffic, our wedding reception start a little delayed but Otis was able to adjust the pace of the reception on a last minute call and still manage to make the whole experience fun and on time. We have not received the photos and videos yet but we can tell that the photographer and videographer were really professional by the way they work. My wife and I were really bad at posting for photos but they are very patient at helping us to adjust to it.
