We got a few really nice photos and overall had a good experience. He also made us a little video that we weren't expecting, which was a nice extra. I do wish there had just been a little more direction with the kids. With two little ones, it was hard to get them to smile and look at the camera while also trying to do the same myself. He tried calling their names to get their attention, but that doesn't always work with little kids, so I was hoping for a little more playful interaction to help get natural smiles. I think I was just expecting more from someone who specializes in family photography. We did some walking shots that I think turned out the best, and I wish we had done more photos like that. We were hoping for more of those natural, candid moments versus just the posed ones. We probably could have communicated that better beforehand, but I was also hoping to trust him to help guide us and capture how we truly are as a family. Overall, we got some photos we really liked and appreciated the thoughtful video. With a little more interaction and direction with the kids, I think it could have been an even better experience!

Anna is very personable and clearly, talented in photography based on most of her portfolio…read more She was also very responsive and generous with her time with us. Her prices are very reasonable compared to industry averages (though I find the industry averages too expensive for the average person and I do regret spending as much money as we did). If I'm being completely honest though...and at the risk of sounding picky/unreasonable/mean (?...I really am not intending to be), we were not as content as some of her other customers. There were several shots that were just repetitive/the same shot with slight change in movement. There were several shots where some of the people in the photos had their face/body protruding...a simple nudge/tip to the people to tilt their head down/to lean slightly forward would've helped. There were several shots where some people were not looking at the camera (again, a simple nudge/tip to direct people to look at the camera would've helped). Maybe it's just that we are especially unphotogenic and needed more direction than even what Anna usually provides. I honestly hate 50% of the photos we were given back. Lastly, it seemed like we were a forgotten customer/second thought at times...there were things we had to ask for that were said to be included in Anna's services (I don't want to get into the details)...I do wonder if we hadn't asked, if they would've just been forgotten. (I feel like there's pressure to continue with the 5 star reviews given that that's all there's been, but I just can't).
