I wish I could give Vivian 10 stars! She shot my daughter's senior photos at Filoli and they are stunning. The session was relaxed and fun and my daughter felt very at ease with her. Vivian is an expert at capturing the light and the photos were better than I had even imagined. She is also excellent with communication. I highly recommend High Tea Photography! read more

Working with Vivian at High Tea Photography was such a great and seamless experience. From the moment I initially contacted to her until we received our edited photos, she was attentive, flexible and extremely helpful in thinking of anything my mom brain was overlooking. She made the session fun and comfortable, even while working with a toddler that hates picture taking. My family and I are were beyond happy with the final outcome!! read more

We had Vivian photograph our studio maternity and newborn photoshoot. She really is a wizard with the photos she captures. What we liked best about her was how patient and communicative she was leading up to photo day and during the shoot itself. She teaches you how to pose if you need guidance and shares tips for someone who is generally camera shy. We didn't feel pressured or uncomfortable and she handled a 10 day old newborn with ease, allowing us time to feed or pump. She maintained a clean and professional environment, sanitizing regularly and wore a mask the entire duration. You're also able to utilize some of the dresses or props she has for your photos. At the end of the session you'll get to select your photos for edit and she really listens and reconfirms with you the editing you'd like done. We highly recommend her as a photographer for both maternity and newborn photos because the photos will be a cherished snapshot of the moment but the experience made it that much more memorable. read more

Vivan was so professional, intentional, dedicated and punctual for our picture perfect maternity shoot! She was able to impressively fit in 4 dresses and 2 locations (indoor + outdoor) into 1 efficient session. All quality and no cutting corners, she really has an eye for how to make the portrait really stand out! She is also very considerate and kind to talk with, during all the poses and coverage. We could not be any happier with the final edits, she cleaned them up well and brought great richness to our selections, for this timeless moment of our lives. Of course we added extra photos to our base package, as there were too many good ones to keep! read more

What can we say? We absolutely LOVED our baby girl's photos from our session with Vivian! We did a 100-day shoot and even though our baby was in a fussy mood, Vivian rolled with it and, from the photos, you'd think we had a cherub baby! The family photos were everything we were hoping for as well. Vivian gave us a great mix of delicate, beautiful, sweet, and artistic photos. We had a very hard time choosing the final prints, which is a testament to her talent! Thank you for the beautiful photos to commemorate our important occasion -- we look forward to having Vivian capture more of our little girl's special moments. read more

**Long headshot review -- TL;DR: Vivian is a skilled and thoughtful photographer, would recommend!** I needed a headshot for work, and was lucky to have found Vivian. She responded within 30 minutes of my Yelp message and we quickly got the session booked! Vivian's home studio was immaculate. I requested COVID accommodations and she really delivered. She let me know she always wears a mask and sanitizes her hands for her sessions since she works with newborns. She also had an air purifier running in the studio, and at my request opened the windows for additional ventilation. It didn't even get cold because she had placed a space heater near me, which was very considerate! Vivian was really thoughtful and attentive throughout the session. My blazer had gotten wrinkled, so she brought out a steamer and quickly got it photo-ready! She helped with smoothing out my hair/clothing and took multiple shots until I was satisfied with how I looked. She could also tell when I was forcing my smile (I hadn't had my photo taken professionally in a long time!) and helped bring out a genuine smile, which was apparent in the final product. The stated turnaround time on the retouched photos was 2 weeks, but I received them well ahead of schedule. I love the headshots! The retouches were polished yet natural. Vivian was attentive to the edits I requested (e.g. the red marks on my nose bridge from glasses) and didn't edit more than necessary so it still looked like my own skin. Everything about working with Vivian was exceptional, from her communication, to the care she takes working with clients, to the actual product. Seriously look no further if you need photos! read more

Amazing work by Vivian, professional and thoughtful, a must for any OCD mum!!! Vivian did both our new born session (long overdue review!) and the 1 year session; all I can say is look no further you can't go wrong with her. Vivian shared all detailed information ahead so as long as you follow the instructions and response correspondingly (and arrive on time) then you are guaranteed with great photos. Our new born session was amazing, I was hesitated to drive to her studio within the same new born week but it turned out to be a good decision! Vivian keeps her studio warm at 80 degree throughout the session and she calmed our new born with amazing skills. It was during summer time but I would say it is a high risk if baby were naked for prolong time in our own living room. I'm so glad we picked Vivian for new born session. A year later new mum is still struggling around schedule and it was a shock for me to suddenly realize I forgot to schedule 1 year session for the precious moments (as baby start walking and facial look is changing daily!) Vivian worked with me to fit into her schedule and got all details lined up within the week! She even called me to walk thru all arrangement details and helped me on clothing choices. We had a great time in her studio and Filoli Garden -- we ended up with too many photos to choose from -- to be fair it is a great problem to have!!! I highly recommend Vivian on new born and toddler sessions. I agree she's not on the budget side but her professionalism makes it well justified! Everyone knows it is not easy to take great photos with kids, with Vivian I was so confident it will be good. Her photos captured the natural beauty (as none of us had any make up on and still look great haha) Professional, punctuate, patience, and most importantly works great with kids -- You can go wrong with Vivian! read more

This is a long overdue review as we've worked with Vivian since our maternity photos to 100 days photos, and now of our baby's 1 year old shoot. She is such a gem, we are so glad to have been referred to her. She is so attentive and warm. Her photo taking and editing skills is what makes us drive over an hour each way just to see her. Can't wait for her to take more photos of our little family for the years to come. read more

A must for anyone considering newborn photos (and photos for the whole family). We are beyond thrilled with the final pictures. They are perfect. Vivian is an absolute professional. Her explanations and preparation in advance of the shoot was spot on and extremely helpful. And her studio had everything ready for us, including heaters running at 80 degrees for the newborn. Vivian's attention to the smallest details and expert eye resulted in truly the most amazing pictures of our entire family. She even took wonderful pictures of our toddler who was not an easy subject. We will definitely book future sessions with her again to capture our children growing up in the most beautiful way. Thank you! read more

Vivian is great! I was in a rush to get my professional headshot done, and she replied to my message pretty quickly. The session went very smoothly and I absolutely love the headshot! read more

As a family who have gone through a handful of photographers, Vivian exceeded our expectations and then some. From the moment I decided to book with her for my newborn photoshoot, it was her consistent communication that made me feel confident that I made the right decision. Leading up to my due date- she reached out to check on me and wished me well on my delivery. On the day of our photoshoot- which took 5hrs -Vivian was patient with my family and took care of my newborn like her own. She went above and beyond when we started to get hungry- she was persistent in making us waffles which we gave in at the end- as our plan was to pick up lunch after. She had all the tricks in keeping my boys (3yrs and 5yrs old) entertain, awhile doing her job as a photographer. As for our pictures- it turned out perfect- we loved every single one of them- it was definitely hard to choose from all the shots she took. Thanks again Vivian! read more

I have been working with Vivian for over 3 years! She helped me with my maternity, newborn, our annual family photos, and even my professional headshot! Vivian has the best sense of beauty and is always fun to work with. She always accommodates our needs and is very reliable. She knows how to entertain and guide my toddler during our photoshoot, and is always very patient. I didn't anticipate to receive my photos early but she is always very efficient! Got so many compliments every time I posted my photos on my social media. Highly recommend Vivian! And will definitely come back for more! :) read more

High Tea Photography exceeded my expectations!! We worked with Vivian on my daughter's senior portraits. From beginning to end, she was extremely professional and made this experience so easy! What I really appreciated was her responsiveness. She was very prompt while communicating with us and kept us updated on all aspects. The finished product was fantastic! The portrait absolutely exceeded my expectations. Vivian somehow managed to really capture my daughter's true character. My only disappointment was that I didn't book her for more than one photo! I highly recommend her and will definitely be using her again in the future! read more

Unlike most of her customers, I needed a "head shot" for work. I am glad I used her. My wife had used Vivian a few years ago for some professional photos and I really liked the result. So I did not have to think hard about who I should use for this. Setting up an appointment was easy and Vivian was right on time. I think we finished the shoot in about 20-30 min, enough time to try a few different locations to get some variety. In full disclosure I am not one who likes to get his picture taken. I appreciated that Vivian was able to put me at ease very easily and we were able to get this done pretty quickly. And I really like the result. Yes, I would have preferred her to make me look more like Brad Pitt, but she is not a miracle worker! Plus Vivian is a really nice person, so you will enjoy working with her. read more

There is a reason Vivian gets so many rave reviews. We booked Vivian for a newborn session but due to factors outside of Vivian's control we had to rebook the session twice. Vivian was more than professional at handling this inconvenience and offered to reimburse clothing that children had grown out of and rush the processing of 1-2 photos. She, in fact, went beyond this offer doing 120% of what was initially proposed. Photo wise Vivian has a keen eye for poses, is able to get shy children to come out of their shells, and is skilled with photoshop (generally I embrace imperfections but baby acne is definitely something I'd rather my kids not have to contend with when they have these photos later in their lives). I chose Vivian initially as many photographers embrace a "photojournalistic" approach and say act natural. But both my husband and I need some help as our "natural" poses are not quite so much poses that we want memorialized in photos. Vivian also has great props and ideas for shots. A few things for those considering to book: 1) you don't get all the photos she takes (this is probably a good thing as the last photo session we had we got about a billion photos but I really just love about 10-15 of them) 2) you get jpegs as the final delivery and not raw files. I got both last photo session but again I don't know that I really use the raw files much. I don't really have time to edit them. If you're a budding photoshop specialist this may not be a good fit for you. Overall Vivian is a pleasure to work with and we are hoping to work with her again in the future! read more

This is our second time taking newborn photography with Vivian and she is absolutely the best! Her pictures are natural and sweet-the way how newborn photos should be. We took our second child's newborn photography with someone else due to Covid - I was unhappy with how the photos came out so I was excited to go back to Vivian for our third . She is very accommodating and knows exactly what to do with the babies- she's like a baby whisperer! Not to mention, she was able to get our 3 year old that was having a melt down to pose for the photos (thank you and I'm so sorry Vivian lol). Go with Vivian, you won't regret it! read more

Vivian is outstanding at her job. We met Vivian in July 2023 for our maternity photoshoot. She was very detail oriented weeks prior to the shoot and helped us find the best location. She even helped out with the selection of outfits that went great with each location that we selected. We loved our pictures. The only issue we ever faced was selecting pictures because every snap she took was so beautiful. We always ended up getting more pictures and it was absolutely worth it. Vivian is so patient and friendly. We instantly knew we would be coming back for our newborn photoshoot. She keenly followed up with us and set up a time that was comfortable for our family. She is very accommodating with time and ensures people are happy and comfortable around her. For the newborn photoshoot we had both sets of grandparents present at the studio. We did 3 different sets for our baby alone and pictures with parents and each set of grandparents. Everything was wrapped up with just a few hours. She was very delicate and patient with our baby we learned from her during the photoshoot. If you are looking for a professional photographer for your family, please look no further. Vivian is amazing. We are so glad we found her and look forward to documenting other milestones with her. Thanks Vivian!! read more

For two years in a row, I've been having Vivian come and shoot family photos with my family including my two-year-old son. She is just pleasant to work with. Before we met, she helped us sort out the logistics such as what to wear, when/where to meet, and even secured tickets for us when required. During the photo-shoot, she comes well-prepared and have clear instructions on what to do while also taking our suggestions and ideas into consideration. After the shooting session, she's quick on turnaround and the quality of edits is great as well. My family enjoyed having her around for our photos. Needless to say, the photos we get are just gorgeous. Go check out her portfolio if you haven't. Would highly recommend if you're looking for any kind of photography needs in the bay area. read more

We had the greatest baby photography sessions ever!!!! First off, I have to rave about the communication from the beginning. Once I sent out a request via Yelp, Vivian responded and provided us with all the details that included packages and prices as well as additional details that were extremely helpful. Once our baby was born, Vivian reached out to us via email about setting up a date for the photo session. Glad she did this since we had our hands full with our newborn and toddler. She provided us with her portfolio and asked us to pick some photos that we were interested in. This helpedout a ton-since my wife and I were really exhausted and didn't want to think too much about, "what should we do?" We then picked out some photos and waited for our appointment. Vivian provided all necessary details about the day of- including location, time frame, and COVID safety. Her home studio was very easy to get to and was absolutely beautiful. We were worried about our two year old getting bored during the session, but Vivian had a play room with lots of toys. He had a blast which equals to we all had a great time. Vivian was extremely organized throughout the photo session and super nice. Our toddler really liked her and most importantly he felt very comfortable around her. She's super sweet!!! Following the photo session it was time to decide on our favorite photos. Vivian made this process extremely easy for us. In fact, my wife and I were worried it was going to take a long time, since we usually take a lot of time to decide on photos. But that wasn't the case. Vivian organized the picture in a way that made it very easy for us to choose our favs. We highly recommend High Tea Photography. It was the best photo session we had compared to our first session with another company. Vivian is wonderful and a skilled photographer. Her props are absolutely beautiful and she has hands of an angel with our newborn. Everything was clean and sanitized and her process was very easy. Thank you Vivian!!!!! read more

The most wonderful photo shoot session I have been too! I was nervous about taking pictures of my 6 month old baby because she can be fussy. However, Vivian was able to make her laugh and we got some really good photos. I absolutely love her work. She's very particular and all the pictures look like it came out of a Janie and Jack magazine. I love that she even has clothes for you to try on at the photoshoot. This made the process easier in case you forget some headbands for the baby. I love all the recommendations she had for us during the photo shoots. When I saw the pictures, I was so shocked at how beautiful it came out. Vivian really has a keen eye for details. She made sure all the lighting, clothes, and facial expression/postures looks perfect. I highly highly recommend her to capture any special occasions. You will not be disappointed! read more

We have gone to Vivian 3 times for family photo sessions, and every time the photos turn out amazing. Vivian was so wonderful to work with... she was very patient with our kids and was really great at getting them to be expressive in front of the camera (a skill that we still don't have). She was also super responsive and clear in all her communications and never pushy about what we wanted out of the session. We very much look forward to working with her again! read more

I came back to Vivian for my maternity photos for my 3rd pregnancy. I'm very awkward when it comes to picture taking, so I really liked how during the photoshoot, she would give us clear instructions about how to pose. The pictures turned out so dreamy and beautiful. I had a hard time picking which photos I wanted because I liked so many of them. She did such a good job making my 2 boys smile, especially my 3 year old who never wants to smile during pictures.
