Buyer beware. The shoot went fine, but the photo I got out of it was not. First of all, note that she only releases *one* photo to you--one raw and one edited version! This is not at all clear from the website marketing, which states: * Photos Taken: 30-50 images * Retouched Images: 1 professionally edited photo (selected on-site) Apparently you also get only 1 raw image, though this is not stated. You have to immediately go through a lengthy three-phase process to choose that photo --no consulting with friends/partners. Okay, so maybe I should have found the fine print, but it turns out "professionally edited" means "created by AI." It generated an image that looks like a 25-year-old digital avatar of me, quite different from the original photo. The website also claims that "We offer 2 rounds of free revisions," but I have not received a response a week after asking for one. So, I'm using the raw image, which is fine. read more

This was my first experience with headshots and it went great. I filled out a short survey was immediately put at ease by the photographer. She took a variety of poses and helped me with positioning. After the shoot the photographer sat with me to review the proofs and help me decide on final options. I chose the ones I liked and got the final untouched and retouched photos within a week. I got my prenatal pictures taken here and I LOVE this experience very much! We hired Luminous Space to take professional headshots for our work event in San Francisco because they were able to move quickly and were great communicators.* Would re-hire! The day after I reached out to them, they were in my office giving honest advice on the pros and cons for each potential space we could've had them set up (we're in a 2 story building with lots of natural lighting and different-sized offices). Throughout the decision-making process, they were easy and flexible to work with. Ex: because we have a brick building, they gave event attendees the option to take a picture with the solid-color background they brought OR the brick background, and many chose both! Note: the team has a range of colors you can select from if you want a polished background look, as displayed on their website. During the day of our event, they showed up a few minutes before they said they would, which was great -- parking in SF can be tricky, and they factored in that time. The Luminous team is efficient and well organized, so I was able to run around and take care of finishing touches on other aspects of the event without needing to check in on them during their setup and cleanup. Their setup gave the casual event a classy, professional feel to it without the stiffness of being in a studio. The Luminous team kindly gave us a 15 min heads up before the end of their time, which allowed us to make an announcement and have the final attendees get in line for photos. Once we selected our photos, they turned around the edits within 5 business days. (Needless to say, the final products came out great, even for the camera-shy people!) *Other photographers we tried to hire were difficult to communicate with. This is my first time visit Luminous Space Studio, my experience is great. Third floor has a very elegant decorate studio with all the best fashion portraits took by the owner. Second floor is a huge industry style studio. They uses advertisement grade equipments (Profoto) for all the portrait shots.
