I thought I brought way too many outfits, but i got fabulous suggestions that I wouldn't have thought of. I needed to update my headshots and saw that SRK had a headshot day. They squeezed me in on short notice. When I showed up, the process was very efficient: Scott was there to handle the photos and there was a makeup person and Patricia who dealy with scheduling and onsite coordination. The whole process took about an hr (I think I purchased the 1 hr package). Everyone was friendly and helpful. I got perhaps 100-200 shots with and without coat, with and without tie, dark and light background, etc. Scott also helpfully tagged the good ones so I didnt have to review all 100. A few days later he sent me a link to a nicely organized dropbox and I selected 1 pic for each combination of coat or no coat, etc. He then did a free retouch on one of them and included hi res and web ready images. I am planning to pay to have the others retouched. Overall a great experience. Very good value and high quality. read more

BEAUTIFUL headshot photos for a fraction of the price of places around San Francisco. Not only are these the most beautiful corporate headshot photos I have ever taken, you get to keep ALL of the photos taken during the session. This is such a wonderful change of pace from other extravagantly priced studios which charge upwards of $350+ for ONE photo from the entire shoot. SRK let's you walk away with as many as you take during your session! I found SRK Headshot Day on Yelp and was sold by their solid 5-star rating. Once reviewing their website, I opted for the San Francisco "Express" package which cost $95 for a 15-minute photo session. I didn't even realize this $95 would mean I would keep all of the photos, I came into the session prepared to pick one at the end - this resulted in a big hug for Scott when becoming privy to this information! I was concerned before arrival if 15 minutes would be enough time for the shoot, which turned out to be MORE than enough time - we managed to snag 60+ beautiful photos in less than that time frame. SRK had another package available which included a professional makeup artist + tacked on 30 minutes to the session, but I opted to save a few $$ and do my own makeup/hair. I was happy I went this route since I fell in love with my photos, but would also recommend this other package for those who may want that extra glam touch from a true makeup artist! Also - huge shoutout to Scott and Patricia for a meticulously, efficiently run studio + headshot process. After booking my session online (through a simple interactive calendar feature), I received an email with a breakdown of tips & tricks for how to dress, do makeup, what to bring, etc. They also allow you to bring various tops to swap out for different photo options. In person, Scott was wonderful to work with and made me look beautiful + knew exactly how to position me for a perfect shot. The best part of their service, was that within ONE hour of returning home from my shoot, I had a link to all of my photos. Literally from arriving at the studio to the pictures in hand in less than 2 hours - now THAT is a fast/efficient/5-star experience. Any corporate person living in SF looking for a new beautiful headshot while not breaking the bank should look no further than SRK! I'm a bit surprised to see all the glowing reviews, because I didn't have that experience. First off, they are COMPLETELY inflexible when it comes to rescheduling your appointment. I booked the session the day before and there were several openings, so there's no way I would have been taking up a spot someone else would have booked. I got a terrible nights sleep the night before my session, and I felt like I looked so tired and far from my best, with my bloodshot eyes, but they would not allow me to move it to another day and were far from understanding. My hundreds of dollars would have simply been gone if I missed. Other reviewers got sick, even had doctors notes, with near 48 hour cancellations, and they didn't allow them to reschedule either. In my opinion, this is not how to run a business. Also, the first thing they had me do was sign a release that they didn't even allow me to read beforehand! Their summary of the agreement (that I'm guessing most people just sign without reading, easy to do when they act like you shouldn't need to read it) was significantly different than what the release stated. They told me it was to sign that I am the owner of the photo, but the statement says that the photography studio is the owner of your photo, and they can use it however they like, even "without the client's approval". If they expect clients to pay for taking their picture, they should expect to pay models for pictures they want to use for their own promotion!! I said I don't agree to that, so they marked out that portion of the agreement upon my protest, but still, the agreement says you can't publish your own picture online without citing their business in the photo. Kind of ridiculous in my opinion. Lastly, I simply didn't think the photos they took were very good. I think their lighting isn't great, and I looked better in natural lighting than I did in their pictures, which seems silly to me, because ultra flattering light is what makes professional pictures great! Lighting is what makes celebrities look amazing in movies. read more

I have never had professional head shots but thought it was time to get a new shot. I didn't know where to start so I choose one that had good reviews and signed up for SRK Headshot Day. They have specific Bay Area locations depending on the day, you choose a location, time and pay the full fee. The cost is a bit pricey but I thought of it as a good investment. I had some issues signing up but Scott called me the next morning and got me setup. He was very nice on the phone and not pushy at all. Right away you get a welcome email that had suggestions and what to expect. I brought a few different colored shirts to my visit. The headshot location was a small location but it felt friendly, modern and fun. You first get some light makeup to take off the shine and then you meet Scott. The whole time I felt very comfortable and they really go out of their way to keep it laid back, fun and confident. He did a great job of making you smile naturally and I really liked that he showed you the shots as you go. The time went by fast but plenty of shots with multiple shirts were taken. The time frame to receive the first proofs (which you cannot save and have a watermark) was said to be 2-3 days via Drop Box, but I actually got them by the time I got home 2 hours later. Once you choose one picture you like, Scott and team will then make some final digital touch ups and provide you the savable high quality versions (took about 4 days). Just note, you only get to choose one photo, if you want more there are additional fees. Overall I was very happy and recommend their team, even if the cost is a bit high :) read more

I recently needed to refresh my headshot for my website and booked with him again this month. This experience was great as well. I hate being photographed. Just hate it. Scott and Patricia made the experience much easier. They sent very good emails beforehand to help prepare for shoot days (with diagrams showing which types of collars photograph best). And advised me to bring three changes of clothing in solid colors. As an undergrad trying to find gainful employment, I figured my heavily-cropped and grainy picture wasn't exactly communicating the right message. I knew I needed a professional headshot for my Linkedin profile! Enter SRK. First things first, making an appointment was so easy. There were plenty of options for date/time, as well as locations! After paying and up until the day of the shoot, I received several emails from his team containing general tips/advice on how to prepare so that the photos turn out the way I want (which was great, because I didn't have enough appropriate shirts and had enough time to buy some before my appointment!). Easy to make an appointment, clear communication, and great service. The day of the shoot, I was pretty nervous. I felt a little awkward at first, and a recent breakout didn't really help my confidence before I walked in. However, Scott's makeup artist did a wonderful job covering it up and making me look good, but still myself. I ended up having a lot of fun in the end! Scott and his team really put me at ease, and we enjoyed some friendly conversation while experimenting with lighting, backgrounds, poses, and outfit changes to produce a LOT of shots that I really liked. I got headshots done for work, and my experience was great! They schedule a 30 minute photo shoot and 30 minutes to do makeup. The makeup was perfect, it was just enough but not too much where it was cakey. They sent me a bunch of photos afterwards that were untouched so I could select the ones to get re-touched, and honestly none of them needed to get re-touched the pics were that good. In general, I am not the best at taking pictures, but I truly loved all the pictures they took of me. Highly recommend coming here!! read more
