We LOVED working with DJ Henry for our wedding, and felt so lucky he was available for it. Yes he had the room dancing in their seats during dinner, and yes we got so many compliments from our guests as he played banger after banger all throughout the reception, but those actually weren't even the best parts about working with him: -First, he's a dream to work with. He set up a detailed checklist for us to work through, responded to every email in less than 24 hours, and worked really hard to make sure he did a great job for us -- from understanding what we wanted in each moment (and more than knowing how to handle a hora) to making sure he knew how to pronounce everyone's names throughout. -You know you're in good hands for everything beyond the dancing too. Henry mixed sound for our ceremony as well, muting us when appropriate so we could have our own moments up there, and making sure we, our officiant, and our readers all sounded great otherwise. -He made sure we had the right cuts of every song we wanted to use for special moments -- turning around options for us to choose from basically overnight -- and when we had a song we wanted to process to but it had parts that were too high pitched, he made a new version that toned that down and worked perfectly for us (also overnight!). My wife and I have very specific music taste, but Henry seriously delivered at our wedding!! We couldn't be happier with how everything went. Firstly, he is super organized and detail-oriented. He asked which song we would like for every big moment, how we would like to be announced, and even gave us homework for items we needed to think on. Henry also gave really helpful advice and suggestions regarding our event timeline (like how long it takes for guests to move from one area to another, how long certain special event songs should be, etc.) He was quick to send the shortened edited versions of our first dance song, father-daughter song, and so on. (This was super helpful for dance practice!) He was also a great emcee at our wedding, smoothly transitioning through each part of the day. The music really sets the mood and tone at an event, and we are extremely pleased that our wedding truly sounded and felt like "us" the whole way through. A lot of our guests are friends that share different elements of our music taste (house, techno, kpop, pop, funk, and r&b). We also had older relatives present, so we weren't sure how this would go. Paul DJed our wedding and we received so many compliments on the music! Paul was so friendly, organized, and communicative, and made figuring out all of our music a breeze. We gave him a pretty extensive list of songs we liked, and he figured out exactly which ones would get our guests up and dancing. He kept our dance floor going the entire night! We cannot thank Woody enough for his excellent DJ and MC services for our wedding at Villa Montalvo. The moment we met with him on Zoom for our pre-wedding meeting, we were so confident that we were in excellent hands. We felt so comfortable around him- he is approachable, friendly, professional, easygoing, detail oriented, and very funny. We had never navigated wedding planning before, so he gave us much needed and helpful advice on how to plan our ceremony and timeline as a whole. All the music was played at the right times, and he even spent the time looping our processional songs so that we would not have to awkwardly walk in silence at any point. For our grand entrance, he was flexible on when to play the start of the song, and also cut our first dance song to be 2 minutes so that we could hear our favorite parts without dancing for too long. We are so appreciative of his hard work in cutting the song prior to the wedding for us to have the most perfect first dance that we envisioned. We had an EPIC dance floor with Woody. We had SO MUCH FUN. He knew how to keep the dance floor going and played all the right songs. We had a special request for him to play All I Want For Christmas Is You as our last dance song and his intro for that song was so great - Woody rolled with our idea, and everyone had a great time with it and it was very memorable. Henry was the DJ for our Aug '22 wedding and he was absolutely fantastic! He was a dream to work with - easily one of the most organized, on-top-of-things people I've ever interacted with. He responded to every email within hours, took meticulous notes and remembered every detail we mentioned, and thought through every edge case. As just one example, for our grand entrance, rather than simply asking for a song choice, he estimated how long the song would be playing, prepared multiple snippets for us to choose from to ensure that the best part of the song was playing, and offered tons of suggestions of exactly what wording to use to introduce us, and he brought that same level of detail and care to every part of the day. I'm fairly particular about dance floor music, and song selection can make or break whether I want to dance and am enjoying myself on the dance floor. Henry's selections had me dancing non stop for the entire evening - I was drenched in sweat by the end and got lots of comments about how much I had been dancing! He worked really hard with us to understand exactly what kinds of songs would get us excited, and he nailed it. We had a lot of specific preferences for how we wanted our dj to interact with guests (for instance, giving 5-10 minute warnings so people had time to go to the bathroom and grab a drink before speeches/dances, but not making any cheesy comments during the dancing), and he took all of those seriously. I can't count how many times during the planning process we said we wished some of our other vendors (and really, everyone we work with) could be more like Henry. My husband and I just had our wedding two weeks ago and Felipe from Big Fun was our DJ. He was awesome and all the sound and DJ stuff was fantastic. Look, I've done my fair share of public speaking and it's a personal pet peeve when there are sound issues with microphones and speakers. I can't freakin' stand it when I'm sitting in an audience, especially at a wedding, and I can't hear what people are saying. I want to here a bride and groom saying their vows! That's the most important part. My husband and I got married all outdoors in a park and the sound system Felipe set up was perfect. Everyone could here us and our officiant clearly. When it came to speeches later, everyone could hear our maid of honor and best man loud and clear. No problems with speakers or feedback. The microphones weren't spotty. Everything was great! DJ/host skills - Felipe was fun and professional! He was friendly and warm to my guests. He was happy and charismatic! Great guy :) He was great at getting our guests over to the dance floor to watch our first dance and father/daughter and mother/son dances. I'd been to a wedding before where the dj didn't do as good of a job at that and hardly anybody watched those dances. What's more is he did an amazing job at transitioning from those intimate dances and getting everybody on the dance floor for the dance party time. :) Music and dance party time - My husband and I were able to give Felipe our songs preferences for the dancing time of our wedding. We also told Felipe to please feel free to read the crowd and play more music that they are responding too (if they seem to like salsa, play more salsa!) as well as add fun songs we forget (LMFAO - sexy and I know it - how could we forget to put that on our list?). Big Fun DJ was one of our favorite vendors for our wedding at Nestldown. Henry was our MC and DJ and he did an amazing job. Not only was Henry extremely prompt with email responses, we also had a very thorough meeting with him about our timeline that made us very comfortable with how the day would go on our wedding day. Two of the highlights from our wedding were the First Dance and the Father/Daughter Dance. My husband and I did a choreographed piece for our First Dance and Henry did a great job cutting the music to the length that our instructor had suggested. It was absolutely perfect and so much fun. A couple of days before the wedding, my dad and I decided to change the song for our Father/Daughter dance. We changed it from an English song to a Chinese song which we thought would be more fitting for our relationship. Henry researched the translation of the song and made the perfect cut of the song for our dance. We hired Henry to DJ our wedding and he was everything we could ask for and more. He was both incredibly easy to work with, very flexible with event layout/playlist specifications, and awesome at both MCing and keeping the dance floor popping. About half of the wedding guests are avid social dancers (think waltz, lindy hop, etc.) who preferred music that lent itself to social dancing, but may be inaccessible to the non-dancers. Henry patiently worked with us to craft sets that would thread the needle and satisfy both groups. He used a set of music that we knew to be social dance crowdpleasers as a starting point, but then brought in his own expertise to fill in the holes with universal favorites. I appreciate how he even took the time to learn the differences between east coast swing and west coast swing to ensure that there would be a nice balance of music all around. The end result was a wonderful mix of party music, slow jams, and dance favorites that kept the party going all the way until the last dance - far longer than we imagined for a late Sunday night wedding. Beyond the music itself, Henry was a consummate professional at working all the other aspects of DJing. He was extremely responsive and organized. For instance, we wanted to show a slideshow during the reception and he patiently laid out all the options (including using existing equipment at the venue) and helped us pick something that would suit our needs. Overall, after we explained what we wanted, he helped us conceive and execute the plan efficiently and surprisingly affordably. Paul from BIG FUN Disc Jockeys was a delight to work with. From the initial communication to our Big Day, the communication was flawless. Packages and prices are on their website which is great for transparency and making sure the service is within budget. They also respond very quickly. We had to change our wedding date due to COVID and did not have any problems. We were not charged any rescheduling fees and they were easy to work with. We also had a few last minute song request changes that they accommodated with ease. A few months before the wedding, we got an envelope with a listing of songs. They also note if they do not have a song, they will get it for you - no additional charge! The planning process was also easy as they have a 1-1.5 hour long meeting, going over timeline, song needs, etc. They also give you access to their portal which is great for planning purposes. They remind you of the small details such as specific announcements after the ceremony which I appreciated since I totally overlooked it; it shows how much experience they have. On the day of the wedding, they were set up promptly. The mics are simple to use and everyone that needed one was set up well in advance. The DJs constantly adjusted our audio levels despite changing conditions to make sure our voices were easily heard. Our ceremony was outdoors, our dinner was in one room, and dancing in another, and they were able to transition music between locations with ease. Music played during dancing really kept the fun vibes we were going for. The lighting and smoke machine also made a world of difference. Paul was able to feel the crowd and play the most fitting music. He was able to keep the party going! Overall, 12 out of 10! Paul was able to make all the events flow as MC, was extremely organized knowing the exact order but also went with what the crowd was feeling. We were especially impressed with Pauls' ability to listen, react, and manage the crowd as we had 140 attendees. My husband and I just had our wedding at Nestldown this past Saturday, and the wedding itself and the day was wonderful! I am sad and disappointed to even have to write this review, because when I first met Paul (who DJ'ed our event), I was super excited. However, I put together a Spotify playlist of songs we wanted played at the reception, including some culturally meaningful songs (I'm half Indian), and requests that guests had submitted ahead of time. I specified on Paul's timeline document that we wanted all of the songs on the playlist to be played. However, a good chunk were left off, including some of the culturally meaningful ones. What disappoints me more, however, is that I had multiple guests approach me and let me know that Paul had been rude and abrasive to them during their interactions with him. All in all, the only damper on our day, but wishing the songs we wanted to be played actually were, and bummed that our guests had some negative interactions with one of our vendors. read more

Working with Paul of Big FUN Disc Jockeys was an absolute dream. From the first meeting to the last song of the night, he was prepared, professional and (as promised!) FUN! We had a pretty strong idea of what music we wanted played at various parts of our wedding and Paul made sure to hit all of our songs, but was able to free-lance where appropriate too. For example, my dad's toast was a riff on the theme about my penchant for friendly wagering and as it ended, Paul had "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers queued up which gave everyone a big laugh. He also handled some last minute changes to the speaking program like a pro, and probably a bunch of other things that never even made it to our radar. We hired Henry from Big Fun DJ for our ~120 person wedding reception. He was everything we could have asked for, and more! He was extremely responsive to email and organized, both with our pre-booking questions and for figuring out timeline details. Pricing was surprisingly reasonable. He made recommendations for how our timeline fit together with his MCing and announcements. He produced custom intros/outros for our recessional and dance songs to keep everything flowing. On the day of, he incorporated our music tastes alongside guest requests, and he kept the dance floor active even with our somewhat shy guest list. Multiple guests that we expected to leave early stayed through to the end because they were having so much fun watching the dance floor. Paul was our DJ at our winery wedding in Sonoma in May 2023 He was amazing and helped guide us through the timeline of the day before our planner even gave us a timeline. He made custom edits of songs to better suit our needs and went out and got rare music for us (from an artist on patreon) when we needed it. Also a pro tip- the uplighting package was super affordable as an add on and really gave a nice effect to our event. Would definitely work with again and recommend very highly! read more

Having worked large events before, I knew that a DJ was not simply a person playing music, they are the AV backbone that makes an event run seamlessly. From our first meeting with Henry, we could tell that he was a well-seasoned professional. He meticulously walked through our wedding schedule to confirm details around speakers, song choices, microphones, timing, etc. When we asked Henry to emcee a Newlywed-style game during the reception, we had a simple setup in mind, but Henry truly went above and beyond to make it fun in ways we hadn't imagined, e.g. bringing laptops to serve as a scoreboard and playing game show music to kick it off. When we transitioned to dancing, Henry played an amazing set that was enjoyed by all, and the dancing lights that Big Fun provides created a great atmosphere. Big Fun DJs is awesome. When I first reached out to them, I was really impressed by how quickly they responded, how detailed their introductory email was, and how helpful they were right off the bat. We first spoke with Paul, who gave us a very detailed overview of their services and answered all the questions and concerns we had. We then worked with our assigned DJ, Henry, who is super professional, nice, and responsive. He did a fantastic job at our wedding and I really couldn't recommend him enough! Henry took care of all the sound systems at different locations at the venue, music playlists, emcee duties, and microphones for the ceremony and reception. We worked with Woody at Big Fun DJ. The communication and process leading up to the wedding was excellent. They know the Thomas Fogarty Winery really well, have an excellent song list, are easy to work with, are reasonably priced, and do an incredible job of reading the room well. HENRY IS THE BEST! When getting married you commonly have MANY vendors, Henry at Big Fun Dj was our absolute favorite vendor. He is the most responsive and detailed person! He is so very kind and appreciative as well. Our wedding day was filled with all the music we loved, he even played music we loved so much but didn't even request him to play, how did he know!? The mood of the day is heavily dependent on the music playing in the background, during key moments, and on the dance floor. We are so happy we chose to book Big Fun Dj! We unfortunately had a last minute reschedule and Henry was so understanding and accommodating! We are looking for an excuse to have another party just so we can have the best DJ again!
