Paul was our DJ at our winery wedding in Sonoma in May 2023 He was amazing and helped guide us through the timeline of the day before our planner even gave us a timeline. He made custom edits of songs to better suit our needs and went out and got rare music for us (from an artist on patreon) when we needed it. Henry is the best! You will NOT regret going with Henry. My sister got married this past Saturday, and when she was looking for a dj, my friend who is a wedding coordinator HIGHLY recommended Henry. Not one regret. Henry was part of an elaborate scheme between me (MOH) and the Best Man. We did a rap battle / sing off and he helped map it out and coordinate. He made suggestions and helped with the mixing of the music. The best part about Henry is how seamless he makes things. The schedule for my sister's wedding from 6pm onwards was all done by Henry. tl;dr: We had a really great experience with Paul and were planning to have him DJ our wedding before it was cancelled due to COVID-19. Big Fun DJ was a recommended DJ for our venue (Nestldown). We found out that Big Fun designed the speaker systems at the venue, including the incredible surround sound system in the trees above the outdoor Chapel. We set up a video call with Paul and found him to be clearly knowledgeable, experienced, detail-oriented, and (very importantly) genuine. An added bonus was that we wouldn't need to pay until 30 days after the wedding. After we decided to go with him, he sent us a comprehensive list of possible music organized by decade and genre. We could use it to get ideas for songs to play during cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. Unfortunately, we ended up having to cancel our wedding due to COVID-19, instead opting for a tiny ceremony. We were grateful for the payment policy at this point as we did not have a deposit with Big Fun. Quang from Big Fun Disc Jockeys was a pleasure to work with for our wedding last month (Sept 2019). We didn't have a planner or coordinator, and Quang was such a big help the day of. He helped us stay on point with the schedule of the day, from the bridal party entrance, to traditional Chinese lion dance, to speeches, to dancing! We had a facetime call with him about two weeks before the wedding, and discussed the schedule of the day and song selections. He made excellent recommendations that we hadn't considered. I feel that he was very considerate about that fact that your paying a good amount of money for DJ services ($1599, dance floor lighting and fog machine included if desired), so we worked to maximize dance time! We didn't have everything square until a few days before the wedding, due to some late minute schedule changes, and Quang was very accomodating and receptive via email. I must admit some of the song recommendations are a bit dated, but they are crowd pleasers and really get folks of all ages onto the dance floor. You can see how packed the dance floor was on the pics. I also had Big Fun DJs provide some light pick uplighting ($+400), which turned out great. Quang and his team were wonderful with setting up the lighting, and working with the draping we had set up. I didn't think about this previously, but it is actually a big benefit of Big Fun DJs--they were the only wedding vendor who's payment was due after the wedding. My wife and I hired Henry and Woody to be our DJs for two events we had (a pre-wedding day dance party, and the wedding itself). I wish I could give 10 stars. They are the most professional, kind, responsive people I have ever had the pleasure of working with, in any capacity. Finally getting a chance to write this review on my experience with Big Fun DJ for our wedding at Nestldown. I was honestly thrown off by their name when I first heard about them haha but now I love it because its memorable. We reached out to a bunch of different vendors prior to booking with Big Fun but couldn't decide. Big Fun then reached out to us saying that they will be at a wedding vendor show and invited us to join. It was a really fun event and we had the chance to meet a few of the MCs. This was the perfect opportunity to get a feel for their style and determine what we were looking for on our special day. Woody really stood out to us. Our experience with Big Fun DJ and our wedding DJ Paul was EXCELLENT from beginning to end. I would not hesitate to recommend Paul and this company, and would certainly hire them again in a heart beat. From the get go, Henry was extremely prompt with email questions. He was extremely organized, and I really loved Big Fun DJ's transparent, inclusive pricing. I would have never thought to opt in for dance lights, but I'm so glad they were included as part of the package...it made all the difference in bringing up the dance floor energy! Paul was both our wedding DJ and MC. A month before the event, he scheduled a Zoom meeting where he came prepared and organized. BIG FUN (specifically Henry) was by far our favorite vendor to work with for our wedding. I am so glad we were referred to them. Leading up to the wedding, Henry was always extremely responsive and detailed in his emails. Our meeting with him was productive and we were impressed with how prepared he was. One thing I didn't quite realize before wedding planning was that the DJ would play a huge role in progressing the schedule of events for the day. Henry made sure he knew the exact timeline down to the minute and offered valuable suggestions for how we should time everything. He even wrote down phonetic pronunciation of the names of people he was announcing - I feel like that is a strong indicator of how professional and detail-oriented he is! DJ Henry is the man! He was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We looked around for DJs to help our wedding guests get down and boogie and Big Fun stuck out to us because they didn't require payment until 30 days AFTER the event. They were also SUPER fast in responding to us with an immediate response after we emailed, they had an open booking schedule, their options were clearly and thoroughly laid out, and they just have a comprehensive vendor-client processing system. We pretty much planned what we wanted with them in 24 hours time. During the whole engagement, Paul was professional, attentive, and stayed on top of everything. Woody with BIG FUN Disc Jockeys was hands down my favorite vendor at my wedding. My wedding was held at Nestldown in Los Gatos last July. During the wedding planning process, my husband and I knew that we wanted a DJ, but we also knew that we wanted our favorite saxophonist to be part of the ceremony and first dance. Woody from Big Fun DJ/MC'd are wedding this past fall and was fantastic! The whole process with Big Fun was easy and no hassle from the start. Woody listened to what we envisioned for the day and also able to keep the dance floor packed and our jam packed timeline on track. We thought it might be difficult with two families and guests who didn't know each other until the wedding, but they catered to all the different taste and everyone had such a wonderful time - I wish our venue didn't have such strict restrictions on when we had to be out because the dance floor was hopping - good thing Woody kept our timeline right on time! Woody also was so positive on everything which is so helpful when you are an anxious bride who wants everything to go perfect and smoothly. He calmed our nerves and ran the show! We used these guys for our wedding last month and we couldn't be happier. Woody was our DJ and we met with him to go over songs about a month or less before the wedding. We definitely made use of the 3000 song list to highlight songs we liked. This would suck if you're the type of person who only recognizes a song by the melody- not by the name of the artist or song title. We gave him a list of songs our guests requested to use at his discretion throughout the entire event. And we also gave him our song choices for key moments, which included songs that weren't on the long list at all. He had a lot of great suggestions and feedback in terms of timeline and we really appreciated all of his help. On the day of the wedding everything went off without a hitch. He would occasionally meet up with us if we were running a little behind to ask if we wanted to spend more time on this part or move onto the next part. The music selection was great. At the start and end of the night the dance floor was packed. Our reception had a particularly long time allotted for dancing (3 hours when Woody said most allow for 1.5 hours) so of course there were times when no one was dancing and people were talking and drinking, but I definitely enjoyed the tunes all night. I especially liked the lights and fog machine, once it got dark it looked like a dance party. I can see why these guys have such great reviews. We used Big Fun for our wedding this past September and they were great. Easy, quick communication from the start. Our DJ, Stefano, rocked it and all of our friends and family have commented on what a great job he did. 100% would recommend Big Fun and Stefano to anyone. When I reached out initially, I heard back right away and had all of my questions answered. When we decided to book with Big Fun, we were given an choice between two different DJs that were still available for our date. We chose mostly based on the online bios for each DJ. Our wedding was fairly big with many generations represented and we wanted a DJ that could satisfy an eclectic taste in music and keep as many guests on the dance floor as possible. Once we were confirmed, Big Fun sent us a list of songs from their music library and encouraged us to mark it up based on what we liked/didnt like, etc. Stefano used this list to play exactly the type of music we were looking for. Our pre-wedding meeting was easy and fun and made us feel confident that we would get what we needed from our DJ. Stefano was great about sharing his knowledge and made suggestions based on his experience. With his extensive experience DJing weddings, we were glad to have his perspective when deciding things like flow of the night, etc. I will add, that in the instances we were set on a particular aspect, he was happy to do things our way. During our meeting we went through the entire timeline for the wedding and Stefano made detailed notes about our requests and expectations. When the wedding day came, Stefano worked with our wedding coordinator to keep everything moving seemlessly. The sound quality for our outdoor ceremony site was fantastic and Stefano did a great job emceeing the reception as well. We told Stefano that it was really important to us that there be as much dancing as possible and the dance floor was not empty once during the whole night!
