At first I was feeling like it was a little bit of a risk because I spoke with DJ Cali only over the phone and never met him in person. But I trusted DJ Cali and it turned out great. We ended up making a lot of last minute day-of adjustments in terms or music, and he was able to accommodate all of them. He also helped us keep on schedule- when the toasts/speeches went too long, he helped adjust our schedule to make everything work. After the wedding, we got tons of compliments on how smooth the wedding went, and how much fun people had dancing. The reception dancing was something I was nervous about, since I'm not much of a dancer. Chris has an "all guest" trick that worked like a charm and got everyone going! WOW! Cali Entertainment ROCKS! Literally! We had our wedding on New Year's Eve 2008 and used Cali Entertainment (Chris, the owner was our DJ) for our music and entertainment. He went way, way above and beyond! We were concerned because we were having an 8 hour reception (in order to make it to the countdown!) that we would lose a good amount of our guests before midnight. As it turns out, we had no need to worry. Chris kept the dance floor packed the whole evening! Even my husband's 84 year old Grandmother was rockin' out for the countdown! Not only was he a bomb DJ and MC, but he went above and beyond keeping us on time, helping us with our slideshow, making sure the countdown went off without a hitch and even helped my sister and my nephew pull off an amazing surprise performance for us! I have seen some what would otherwise be perfect weddings or events go completely downhill because of a bad (bad as in NOT GOOD) MC or DJ...and it's really tragic. I know couples spend a lot of time and money trying to make their wedding special and memorable for themselves and their guests ( I know we did) and it's sad to see all of that wasted when a DJ/MC is boring, low energy and can't read a crowd. And it's really hard to tell in an interview how good a DJ is going to be.
