We loved working with DJ Josh! He made the whole process seamless: fill out a worksheet, meet in zoom to go over said worksheet and any other details/special requests, show up, and have the time of your life. I personally believe that a good soundtrack to a movie is one of the most important things to determine whether the movie was good or not. In our case, Josh was able to set the mood/atmosphere for our wedding the moment you walked through the venue. His versatility throughout the night was seen when it progressed from soft instrumentals, smooth jazz during cocktail hour + dinner, then upbeat favorites during dancing. Josh perfectly timed each song whenever it came to big moments such as when the groom/bride entered, our first kiss, and dance lifts to ensure they happened at the song's peak. He was also able to accommodate requests such as making key announcements, editing songs so that they fit in our tight schedule, and finding niche songs to play eg anime theme intros (which all our friends went crazy for). We had so many compliments that it was the most fun that many of our guests have had at a wedding since their own wedding. I don't think I've seen so many of my loved ones jumping and head banging, ever ... it was magnificent! Additionally, he got many of our older family members and shy friends to come out to the dance floor! Usually they'd leave any wedding once the music started, so I'd say that's a HUGE win to Josh for being able to coax them out with songs they can relate to and just have good beats to feel comfortable moving to. Overall, I'd highly recommend Elite Entertainment (esp Josh!) - even the other vendors and Hakone venue coordinators told us they liked working with him so that's always a good sign. Elite Entertainment was a pleasure to work with. Very efficient and professional. But let me tell you about KEVIN! Kevin is a very smooth operator. As the wedding got closer, stress was at an all time high, especially with a strong chance of rain on the day. Kevin deftly navigated our emotional tension and put us at ease. You could tell he had done this before. Even further, when a misunderstanding on our part had us (temporarily) mad at Kevin, he didn't even hold it against us and really worked hard on the vision we had. He is tough as nails, with a heart to match. When Kevin really sealed the deal as a wedding and human legend was when he got a VERY last minute request (changing the bridal processional song twice 30 min before the event), he didn't even flinch, even when a miscommunication had him sprinting up a hill to make sure we got it right. Also, with Kevin's music selections, the vibes were IMMACULATE. Everyone had a good time. Given the diversity of the crowd, Kevin's song selections put everyone at ease and made everyone feel at home. Everyone I spoke with on the phone--whether it was asking questions or making payments--were so professional, and I really appreciated their high level of customer service. When it got closer to the wedding date and we started having conversations with our DJ (DJ Maurice), he was very professional as well and so helpful in working with us to design the timeline. On the day of the wedding, he did a great job with all of the announcements and with staying on schedule. In addition, he kept our guests engaged and their energy levels up, and afterwards so many of our guests told us how much fun they had. DJ Maurice used our song suggestions that we turned in prior to the event, but he also knew how to pick and choose songs that would get a bunch of our guests on the dance floor. He asked all the important questions leading up, let us have a big say in our music preferences, everything was smooth. The actual music was great everyone loved it, and the dance floor was packed all night. He made me and my husband feel really comfortable throughout the day even checking in on us before the ceremony. He fed off our vibe and energy for all of the first dances and cake cutting etc. he even told us if we wanted to be done with our first dance early just ok at him and he will fade out. The mics worked well and there was no feedback or problems which I think is super rare! We had DJ Josh for our cocktail hour and reception for our wedding at the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay in July and he was incredible! My husband and I agree that he's the best DJ that we've seen at any wedding so far. We are both dancers and particular about music, and he was fantastic. He didn't let songs go on for too long, and would switch up the songs to fit the vibe of the room. Even though we had a small wedding with many guests who usually don't step on the dance floor, DJ Josh did a great job of keeping the dance floor fun. We had specific music cues for our grand entrance as well as a special cut for our first dance, and DJ Josh had them all downloaded, prepared, and executed perfectly. Our biggest regret from our wedding was not hiring him for our ceremony as well...we had some music requests for the ceremony that the venue's AV team ended up messing up. Josh also made sure to ask if we had any special announcements/instructions for guests (ex. escort cards), as well as checked name pronunciations with us which I thought was super thoughtful. It helped that DJ Josh knew our venue inside out, so was able to set up equipment for our various rooms. So thankful to have had Josh as our DJ!! read more

When I first started planning my wedding, I was researching for a DJ to play music at my wedding.
