DJ Raffi was honestly my FAVORITE vendor from our entire two-day Indian wedding weekend. He was…read moreincredible. We hired him for night one, our welcome party, and originally expected the vibe to be pretty chill. We figured there might be some dancing, but that he would mostly be MCing and providing background music. Instead, he read the crowd so well that he somehow got everyone onto the dance floor at a party that was not even supposed to be our big dancing event. One moment perfectly sums up how good he is. During my maid of honor's speech, she mentioned that I love One Direction and Zayn Malik. Immediately afterward, Raffi played "What Makes You Beautiful," and it was SUCH a hit. I had never put that song on any request list and honestly would not even have thought to ask for it, but in the moment it was exactly the right song. That is Raffi's superpower. He actually listens to what is happening in the room, understands the crowd, and knows what people want to hear before you even realize it yourself. We are also an Indian couple, and even though Raffi is not specifically an Indian DJ, he mixed Indian and Western music together seamlessly. At one point we had people doing bhangra on the dance floor and everyone was SO excited. He absolutely understood the assignment. He also has a fantastic announcer voice and MC presence, while still feeling natural and fun rather than over-the-top. And beyond being talented, he is just such a kind guy and incredibly easy to work with. He took a welcome party that we expected to be relatively chill and turned it into one of the most fun nights of our wedding weekend. I genuinely cannot recommend DJ Raffi more highly.

As planners, we always appreciate working with vendors who are talented, reliable, collaborative, and easy to communicate with, and Raffi was all of that and more. We would absolutely recommend him and the Sound In Motion team to couples looking for an incredible DJ and a smooth, fun guest experience!

Tanveer is great at blending Bollywood and Western music to keep the dance floor going, and we got several compliments after the wedding about how good our DJ was. My mom doesn't have a Yelp but wanted to put this message out because Norman was such a great dj!!!…read more(Anyone looking for a wedding dj, you're going to want to read this) When my fiancé and I began the search for a dj we realize we needed not only a DJ, but an MC as well because a DJ is only half the role on wedding day, MC plays a huge part as well. During the interview process I quickly realized Norman's intent was to understand the tone we wanted to set for our wedding day, he wanted to know about my fiancé and asked if he could drop off a binder to me to review before I made my decision. Wow! Very impressive binder I must say. To gather songs selections for important moments, record our love story and review the "binder" which had all the information from our venue to questions about each person in our wedding party. Later he would use this to create the most funniest bridal party entrances, not to mention all the proper pronunciations of some hard names. He worked closely with our wedding coordinator on our timeline she shared with him to keep our guests informed and the ceremony/reception running smoothly and on time. He took command of the room, read the crowd for the right music selection, got the party started and ROCKED the house. Not only playing back to back hits that got everyone out of their seats but on cue with all announcements!! Thank you Norman for making our wedding day a memorable one. Thank you so much Norman, not only is he a great dj but a fantastic MC that kept us all entertained.
