I've tried lots of pizza in the area. I grew up in Trenton and to me delorenzos from Hudson st was it. This pizza has good crust is always cooked well and the ingredients are fresh. My go to pizza place. The young guys behind the counter aren't the best but the middle aged gentle man that runs it is a pro. Don't overlook them. read more

It wasn't my first choice tonight, but when I drove past I thought ok cool, new place, let me try. At least they're open on a Sunday. The employees were running around behind the counter in ways that invite usage of the word "cluster" but hey, they're new. Service was slow and my slices were scarcely heated, but hey, they're new. WRONG. They've been open for a few years now, and this is their routine? Maybe I'll try them again, but doubtful. Springfield is a town that desperately needed good pizza, and just last week TD Pizza opened and only made the average slightly better. The restaurant has a warm inviting old school wood panel feel with open and ample seating area and what is seem to me these days to be the obligatory large screen TV on the wall. I decided to order a pie and salad for take out as a first try. The staff is friendly and attentive, The smells wafting from the kitchen are aromatic and inviting. I expected good things from this place but the take out pizza was meh. It had an generic-ish taste that was like dominos. The sauce was salty, the crust underwhelming with no character. I'm unsure of where I want to go with this review. I work in the area so I stop in for lunch often, but it's based on convenience. Sandwiches, wraps, and salads are always usually good, but the reason for the 3 stars is based on their pizza. As mediocre as you can get. The slices always leave you desiring more. I'd have to say it's my favorite pizza place in Springfield. I have gotten their chicken parm pie there once and you can taste the fresh ingredients they use-it was absolutely delicious. I usually get a turkey blt wrap from there which comes with pasta salad and it is definitely worth it. The pizza slices are very big, as well as a large selection. read more

Lost yet ANOTHER customer - and I am using Caps! Called earlier asking of they had WiFi because I am getting claustrophobic working all day at home (Tony's Pizza, 1/2 a block down passed the traffic light on Mountain Avenue does not have internet connection - but, I do recommend highly). I plopped down almost US$ 22 on a 16" pie with 3 additional toppings - asked for some diced tomatoes on it remembering the first time I ate there their sauce is almost non-existent. Their password did not work, as many times as I tried. I have a lot of work still for review and wasting an hour in a vacant, but TV loud pizzeria was not in my interest ... as was the owner's TOTAL lack of interest in helping keep me there (again, it was an empty dinning area) ... talking to the waitress, rather than me who was 6 feet beyond her ... I would say, if you are a monority, this guy is not going to give you the time of the day, left alone a look in the eye. I've ordered pizza for my colleagues at work as well as my family and all times we've had a wonderful experience. The place is warm and friendly, the order takers on the phone professional and the delivery people courteous. I'm gluten free and ordered a GF pasta with grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil, garlic and asparagus. They handled the special order with unflappable professionalism. The pasta was delicious, probably the best GF pasta at a restaurant I've tasted. Since I'm not a pizza eater, I have to take the word of my finicky family. They love it (and hate Dominos) and have asked me to order from TD Pizza again ... Guess we'll keep going back to TD Pizza. read more

Picked up a pie on our way home from my parents and we are so glad we did. This pizza was absolutely delicious. It was the right sauce to cheese ratio, nice crust and thin. We loved it. My three year old ate 1.5 slices!! The restaurant itself is also perfect for families. I do not recommend! I was very excited to try this place once I heard it was the same owners as the martini bar in Millburn. Sadly,I was extremely disappointed! The meatballs were a weird grey color and the consistency of a brick. They weren't even edible. My husband ordered a calzone which he said was disgusting and couldn't even eat it. I just LOVE this take out restaurant! When I go in to pick up everything is so clean looking and cashier/help are always so chatty and helpful and friendly. BUT THE FOOD IS EVEN BETTER! Pizza is delicious! Baked ziti could use a little more salt, but was excellent otherwise, cold sandwiches, excellent! I love the real Italian bread they use, and they are very generous with meat, cheese and everything on sandwich. Only thing they could use work on is their wings. They are always overcooked. But hey, they are small so it's easy to dry them out. Not only do they have excellent food, but the owner seriously takes pride in this good food, I can sense his "PASSION" for making things well and good for people, for making it a positive experience. They also give you a generous portion of some kind of noodle salad that has chunks of onions and black olives and cheese and ziti, and they give this to you for free when you order sandwiches and such. Excellent delivery as well, help and delivery people are always very nice and very "human friendly" type people. I love this place, and I highly recommend it. I don't know what TD stands for, but they must be Italian (I'm Italian) because of their knowledge of Italian food. Had the three cheese pizza, average at best, used slices of provolone, instead of grated. Had a chicken Parm sandwich, holy GARLIC!! There had to be enough to kill an entire city of vampires, had two bites and couldn't even have another. Had to put it in the garbage outside becuse the smell was so strong. It actually made our driveway smell like garlic for days after. Beware of the chicken Parm sandwich or say no garlic please. Ate here twice over the last couple of weeks as I am moving and can't cook anything at home. Wish I discovered this place sooner. I had for dinner one night the rigatoni with broccoli Rabe and sausage, then for lunch I had a small balsamic chicken salad. Both were fantastic. I will definitely be back before I move. The rigatoni dish had just the right amount of garlic - great flavor. For the salad, They served a chicken separate in a crock filled with warm balsamic to drizzle over my salad that had mozzarella, walnuts, roasted peppers and tomatoes. It was delicious. read more

Awful pizza, terrible service. We went in for slices for lunch, to try the place out. The pizza was sitting sad and cold and congealed on the counter - not a good sign. The staff put a couple of slices into the oven for us, to heat them back up ... and then forgot about them, till they were burned to a cinder, even though we were the only two people in the restaurant! The owner intervened and gave us two slices for free. But it was yukky pizza - both the crust and the sauce were wrong, like pizza you'd get out of state, not in NJ. This place just opened up not too long ago. My husband and I are thrilled because we live in Springfield and had been ordering pizza once in a while from another place in town that was just ok. We're happy that TD has opened up, because they make great pizza, the restaurant area is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. (There is one guy there that seems cranky all the time, but everyone else is cheerful and super nice. I even saw what looked like one of the owners come out from the kitchen to talk with an elderly couple and spend a ton of time answering their questions about how they could make some dishes. You don't see that kind of down-home courtesy so much anymore.) We haven't ordered any of their other menu items, except for the brownie sundae, which is aaawesooome! read more
