I am extremely disappointed with the TD Bank branch in Ashland, MA. Last week, I went in to deposit a check that had both my name and my wife's name. To avoid any issues, I brought my wife along so we could provide anything they needed immediately. The staff assured us everything was fine and nothing else was required. Seven days later, I get a call saying they now need additional documentation from my wife to release the funds. This is beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. If they had informed us upfront, this could have been resolved in minutes. Instead, they held our money for a week because they don't understand their own basic procedures. This is not just poor service--it's incompetence. Banking is supposed to be about trust, clarity, and professionalism. TD Bank failed on all counts. If you value your time and peace of mind, think twice before banking here. read more

If I could give a rating of '0' I would! I had a truly abysmal experience that occurred at the Ashland, MA location. My husband and I went to this branch to discuss the possibility of opening a personal loan in order to consolidate our credit cards. The sales rep told us that we qualified for the loan at a competitive rate. We decided to move forward with the loan, and we also opened a checking account to make payments for loan. We were told that we would hear back the following Monday or Tuesday to finalize the closing. We feel that sales rep presented this to us as if it were a 'done deal.' He also did not communicate basic conditions of the loan. This was incredibly misleading based on how this unfolded. I did not receive a call from the sales rep the following week, and instead I had to reach out to him myself at the end of the week. At that point he told me that the underwriter would not approve the loan until after we had been customers for 30 days. This was not explained to us at the start of the process, and the sales rep said he was unaware of this policy and essentially said there was 'nothing he could do.' So, they placed an inquiry on our accounts, which hurts our credit, and denied us the loan. Why are we, the customer, taking the hit from the sales rep's mistake? If this is the product he is responsible for selling, shouldn't he be aware of this 'rule'? I pushed the sales rep to ask the underwriter for an exception given that this was his mistake. I was told I would get a phone call the follow Monday. I did not receive a phone call that Monday, nor that Tuesday. I called the branch on Wednesday and escalated this matter to the assistant manager. She informed me that underwriting would not agree to an exception, despite the fact that this was the sales rep's error. She also told me that the inquiries would not be removed and that our credit would be pulled AGAIN after the 30 day waiting period. They think it's acceptable to place a second inquiry???? Furthermore, because this process was dragged out, we incurred additional interest on our credit card because TD bank failed to process the loan in the timeline that was communicated to us. I wrote an email to the assistant manager, manager, and regional manager. Did I receive a response? NO! I tried calling the manager, who also works at the Holliston branch, and requested he call me. Did he? NO! We are absolutely disgusted by the lack of communication on TD bank's part, the lack of clarity on business practices, the misrepresentation of the loan, the fact that inquiries were placed on our reports, and the complete and utter waste of our time. I highly consider TD Bank rethink its deplorable business practices. read more

Very disappointed! I went into the Ashland branch on a Monday afternoon (after lunch time so it would be dead and all employees would be done with lunch breaks) There was only one woman being waited on so I waited in line (mind you, while watching a male employee just sitting at the drive thru window with no customers and he was doing absolutely nothing) when it was my turn I said that I wanted to open an account. I was told that they could not do that at that time as they didn't have enough help. Well, that made me see that this is NOT a bank that I want to do business with! I truly cannot believe that they would actually turn away a customer that was asking to open an account! And the woman "waiting on me" was very unfriendly. I do not recommend this bank to anyone! I went to a different bank that same day and was greeted immediately and had a new account within 30 minutes of walking in! read more

I waited in line and when it came my time to do my transaction I told the "manager" what I wanted and he said, have a seat. Now, I don't understand why I am having a seat. I waited in line. If my transaction takes a long time, that is everyone else's problem behind me. Not mine. Ok fine. I take a seat. There is a long line and he does all their transactions. 10 minutes go by. Then he departs his post..oh he is coming to help me... but no, he walks around the back and does something else. Everyone else is going to the other teller. Perfect time to come deal with me. Nope.. he finds the next person in line to wait on them. I just up and left. 15 minutes from the time it was "my" turn. Thankfully I was closing my account so I won't have to see them again. But perhaps that is why I was told to wait for everyone else who ever walked in the door and the drive up window. read more

My wife had called the TD in Ashland, MA to inquire about getting a $13,000 loan with the bank essentially to consolidate our credit card debt with a lower interest rate. She made an appointment with David on a Friday at the end of March afternoon to discuss our options. We went to the Ashland TD on Friday and met with David. The plan we basically came to was that we'd apply for a loan from TD, which David assured us would be a quick process, given that we both had jobs and good credit scores: we were supposed to hear from them on Monday and close on Friday and leave the bank with a check on that Friday. Quick and easy; no problems whatsoever. He did suggest, however, that we might want to open a TD checking account, stating that we'd probably get a lower rate by setting up a direct deposit and to make an association with the bank, which was reasonable and which is what we did. So, we applied for the loan, opened the checking account, and left. My wife even went to her work the next business day and set up a $300 biweekly direct deposit into the new account. Monday comes, we hear nothing from David or TD. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, still nothing (do you see a familiar theme here?). On Friday, my wife calls the bank, and David explains that the bank won't approve the loan because of a 30 association-with-the-bank rule, which a) he apparently did not know, and b) he did not tell us. He basically told us there was nothing he could to and essentially to go pound sand. Naturally my wife and I were not happy. We came to TD in good faith, did everything we were supposed to do on our end, were given the wrong information, and yet we were forced to bear the consequences. We pushed back on this and said that TD could either waive the 30-day requirement, or that we'd close the account and take our business elsewhere. David said he would try to get a waiver of the 30 day rule. My wife told him she expected a phone call from him on Monday. David did not call us on Monday, nor did he call us on Tuesday. Because of no communication from TD (again, see the constant theme here?), my wife again had to call the bank on Wednesday and spoke to the assistant branch manager, Rose. Rose again pretty much said the underwriters would not approve the loan, and we'd have to apply again in 30 days, again, not because of our actions, but because of your (TD's) error. So, we'd have to have our credit pulled again, which damages credit scores, because of TD's mistakes. When we mentioned that David had given us wrong and misleading information about the loan (even though he was apparently under the impressions you didn't even need to have an account with TD to get the loan...), Rose simply stated that he didn't need to know that... what? He's essentially a salesman, he should know what he's selling. It's absurd to think that he didn't know the 30 day rule (or that you even needed to have an account with TD to get the loan!), but again, his/TD's mistake (because I'm assuming no one bothered to train David on your policies), leads to our headache. If David had said from the beginning we had to have an account with TD for 30 days, that would have been fine, even reasonable, and we probably would just waited the 30 days and applied for the loan then. But no, that's not what we were told, that's not what we were sold. David and TD were either incompetent, or dishonest, either way, we did business with TD in good faith, and TD did business with us in bad faith. What's worse, because everyone makes the occasional mistake, after TD screwed us over, you and everyone we've spoken with, has done nothing to make things right. Your attitude, aside from indifference, has been, eye rolls and shoulder shrugs. So, to have David bash other banks, like Bank of America, by touting TD's slogan of "banking human" is the epitome of hypocritical. Thereafter, because of TD's complete lack of care, we closed our checking account and contacted the branch manager, the regional vice president, and TD through Facebook, essentially to no avail. The regional vice president, Richard Nicholson, eventually did called me and left me a voicemail on Tuesday, April 16th. I called him back the next day and left him a voicemail. Then, like clockwork, nothing, no communications from anyone at TD. Then, after a week, I called Nicholson again, and left him another voicemail. To his credit, he did call me back that night, but I was able to take the call. He said he would call me between 5-6 that day, which he never did. Again, after this, no contact, no attempt of contact from him or anyone at TD. I am honestly astonished at the complete lack of customer service skills exhibited by TD. From a lack of basic communication skills, to what appears to be downright dishonest business practices. Avoid this bank like the plague. read more

I brought a small bag of rolled coin into this branch (since they no longer offer the coin counting machine). The teller (a young man) called me to his window, and when I said that I would like to cash these in, he gave me a very annoyed look. He never said one word to me, he just put the money up on the counter without even telling me how much it was, so I had to ask him to confirm the amount. I then thanked him! Also, he was chewing gum the whole time! He certainly did not give me the WOW experience that they brag about! I will go to other branches in the future. Update: that teller is no longer working there (what a surprise!), and the current staff is great! read more

Nice people, never seems to be adequate staffing at the busiest times. Too much turnover in personnel.
