I had a task that required a manager. But it's been incredibly difficult to get one on a call or in person. This past winter, I called once a day for a week straight and got voicemail every time. I tried calling at opening hour, tried at lunch, tried different times hoping for a sweet spot. No luck, no callback. I tried email, in case that was easier. I understand what it's like to always be caught in meetings, so I figured asynchronous communication might be more fruitful. No reply. Tried calling again in the spring. Now the voicemail changed to a vacation responder. That's fine, vacation is normal and good. I asked at the branch if there was another branch manager I could talk to until Dan came back, and they said no. Giving up on calls, I decided to drive to the branch on a Saturday and find a manager in person. I figured I had a really good chance. Turns out the manager was on lunch break at 12pm, and there was already a customer waiting for him to apply for a loan. The teller told me it would take a while to assist that next customer, and the branch closed at 1pm, so I might not get a chance to see him today. So that sucked. Drove twenty minutes to be told to come back another day. And a lunch break... an hour before the branch closes for the day. (Why not wait until 1?) With no second manager available. On a Saturday. Anyway, I'm fine with everything else Metro provides, but I wish it wasn't so hard to get a hold of a manager or an associate. This is the only serious qualm I have about this place.

Seven days later, I get a call saying they now need additional documentation from my wife to release the funds. This is beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. If they had informed us upfront, this could have been resolved in minutes. Instead, they held our money for a week because they don't understand their own basic procedures. This is not just poor service--it's incompetence. Banking is supposed to be about trust, clarity, and professionalism. TD Bank failed on all counts. When I walked in I saw 4 women and 1 man working there. I wasn't greeted but grunted at. I filled out my deposit slip and went over to the counter where 3 of the women were working but no one wanted to make eye contact with me. Finally one women looked at me and told me to wait. Okay. Finally I did get another women to come help but she was not nice. I don't understand why not a single person in there could smile at me, say "good morning" or at the VERY least, say thank your or have a nice day. I'm a small business owner.
