This same banker in their Shrewsbury branch notarized a newer POA six weeks ago and she personally knew that my father was in late stage dementia. When we checked into this, Avidia could not find our 2021 and valid POA in his file and was using the new one. We fought with the bank and they finally did acknowledge our POA as the valid one. Avidia's POA and Notary Services policies, controls and prcedures are non existant. Any customer with a POA or needing notary services, beware. Especially an elderly customer!

I recent moved to NH and anticipated moving all my accounts, to a local bank up here. I move a couple of accounts and within 15 days, I transferred everything back to Avidia ... I couldn't stand dealing with the incompetent staff in NH and had to get back to the staff on Pope St., who have always come through for me. You won't find a better banking experience, anywhere!

Due to my bank here in Natick closing their safe deposit boxes I did a little research and listened…read moreto friends and received all positive input about Middlesex savings bank, in downtown Natick. Simply a pleasure! From the Branch manager, John King - to and including the young man, "Alex"ander MacLellan who did all the paperwork, legwork and all around "old school" customer service, .. it was the most pleasant and professional experience I've had in a long time. From my initial goal of obtaining a new safe deposit box, Alex explained over and above, without "salesmanship" pushing, all that Middlesex offered, ways I could benefit my specific situation and treated me like family "old school customer service?! To me, possibly the most important ingredient of any business. All of my banking business will be shifted to Middlesex and proudly would recommend them for anyone considering any banking. Quality people who are very well trained, have been with the company for considerable time which said a lot to me. My highest praise; "Compassionate Professionals".

My wife and I opened a HELOC with Middlesex Savings Bank last year, and unfortunately our…read moreexperience after the loan was established was disappointing. We had two late payments that occurred because of difficulties setting up the initial automatic payment from our Bank of America account. Once we discovered the problem, it was corrected immediately. I expected the late fees, but I was surprised to also see two charges of $30.60. When I called customer service for an explanation, I was told that the charges were for credit reports the bank had obtained after the late payments. What I found difficult to understand was why additional credit reports were necessary. When we applied for the HELOC, the bank had already performed a thorough credit review, confirming that we had credit scores above 800 and a long history of on-time payments. The missed payments were clearly the result of a one-time issue with the automatic payment setup, not a pattern of financial problems. Charging us for additional credit reports under those circumstances seemed unnecessary. Equally disappointing was the customer service. During my phone conversation with a "VP" from the bank, I felt the interaction was unfriendly and condescending rather than helpful. I also received an email that simply stated, "Contact me in reference to your past due Home Equity Loan payment." It had no subject line, greeting, signature, or other basic professional courtesy. While that may seem minor, it reflected the same dismissive approach I experienced on the phone. My parents were lifelong Natick residents and spoke highly of Middlesex Savings Bank for many years. Their positive experiences were one of the reasons we chose the bank for our HELOC. I had expected a more customer-focused approach, particularly given our strong credit history and the fact that this was an isolated setup issue that was promptly resolved. Instead, the experience felt rude and impersonal. I hope the bank reviews both its customer service approach and its policy regarding charging customers for additional credit reports after isolated payment issues. Based on this experience, I would hesitate to recommend Middlesex Savings Bank to others.

To avoid any issues, I brought my wife along so we could provide anything they needed immediately. The staff assured us everything was fine and nothing else was required. Seven days later, I get a call saying they now need additional documentation from my wife to release the funds. This is beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. If they had informed us upfront, this could have been resolved in minutes. Instead, they held our money for a week because they don't understand their own basic procedures. This is not just poor service--it's incompetence. Banking is supposed to be about trust, clarity, and professionalism. TD Bank failed on all counts. If you value your time and peace of mind, think twice before banking here.

My husband and I went to this branch to discuss the possibility of opening a personal loan in order to consolidate our credit cards. The sales rep told us that we qualified for the loan at a competitive rate. We decided to move forward with the loan, and we also opened a checking account to make payments for loan. We were told that we would hear back the following Monday or Tuesday to finalize the closing. We feel that sales rep presented this to us as if it were a 'done deal.' He also did not communicate basic conditions of the loan. This was incredibly misleading based on how this unfolded. I did not receive a call from the sales rep the following week, and instead I had to reach out to him myself at the end of the week. At that point he told me that the underwriter would not approve the loan until after we had been customers for 30 days. This was not explained to us at the start of the process, and the sales rep said he was unaware of this policy and essentially said there was 'nothing he could do.' So, they placed an inquiry on our accounts, which hurts our credit, and denied us the loan. Why are we, the customer, taking the hit from the sales rep's mistake? If this is the product he is responsible for selling, shouldn't he be aware of this 'rule'? I pushed the sales rep to ask the underwriter for an exception given that this was his mistake. I was told I would get a phone call the follow Monday. I did not receive a phone call that Monday, nor that Tuesday. I called the branch on Wednesday and escalated this matter to the assistant manager. She informed me that underwriting would not agree to an exception, despite the fact that this was the sales rep's error. She also told me that the inquiries would not be removed and that our credit would be pulled AGAIN after the 30 day waiting period. They think it's acceptable to place a second inquiry???? Furthermore, because this process was dragged out, we incurred additional interest on our credit card because TD bank failed to process the loan in the timeline that was communicated to us. I wrote an email to the assistant manager, manager, and regional manager. Did I receive a response? NO! I tried calling the manager, who also works at the Holliston branch, and requested he call me. Did he? NO! We are absolutely disgusted by the lack of communication on TD bank's part, the lack of clarity on business practices, the misrepresentation of the loan, the fact that inquiries were placed on our reports, and the complete and utter waste of our time. I highly consider TD Bank rethink its deplorable business practices.
