My two oldest children, who were around nine and six at the time, started dropping in to BBC while I participated in other classes at the Y. Coach Steve would invite me in and I would politely decline, opting for Zumba or spinning instead. I had already decided that I wasn't coordinated for boxing and didn't want to look silly (because I looked awesome doing Zumba? Ha!). Eventually I got bored with my usual routine and decided to step outside of my comfort zone. I joined my kids and confirmed that I was, in fact, completely uncoordinated, awkward and clumsy. However, Coaches Steve and Maya are welcoming, supportive and motivating so I really didn't feel as silly as I expected to. The class starts with a good group stretch then a warm up which could be anything as members take turns leading the warm up. Next up is shadowboxing followed by jump roping before Coach selects two members to do a demonstration in the ring (sorry, no sparring at present). Afterwards, we glove up to hit heavy bags, speed bags, Bob or pair up with a partner and some focus mits. Then we grab a mat and do abs as a group before finishing off with another stretch. It's a great two hour workout at any level. The club is comprised of all levels of skill and everyone is willing to help with form and answer any questions. Keep coming and you will start to feel like family. I know I have and even though I'm not always consistent, it feels like I'm home again when I return. This is one of the best (if not the best) programs at the YMCA!

When booking a class online, you'll be prompted to choose your station. Keep in mind that you'll either begin at a bench or a bag. I accidentally started at a bag because I wasn't familiar with the layout. While it is labeled on the booking screen--'B' for bag and 'F' for floor (bench)--it would be helpful if that were made a bit clearer during the booking process. The studio is dimly lit, which actually works in your favor--if you mess up, no one will really notice. The class moves at a fast pace, so if you're new, I recommend picking a spot with a clear view of the instructor. I chose a station in the back and found myself a bit lost at times, but I just kept moving! The workout is split into two parts: halfway through, you switch between bag and bench. It's a great full-body workout, and definitely worth it. For your first class, gloves are provided, but after that, you'll need to bring your own.

Rumble shares its locations with many others in a crowded shopping center so plan accordingly, if not you'll be fighting looking for spots near the million car long Starbucks line. Staff are amazing, I am always greeted when walking in and their communications on socials is nice and quick. It's a bonus for an easy and convenient mobile app to schedule classes, cancel classes, select your spot in class and earn points! Gym is always super clean and as for the experience it's always a 10/10. Prepare to sweat buckets while in a darkly lit gym blasting some music while you go through strength training and boxing combos. Beginners to advanced these classes are suitable for anyone! Definitely a challenge at first. I think I may be a rumble fan for life. Y'all got me hooked.

My 13 year old daughter is testing for her Black Belt, which is an extraordinary accomplishment for her especially given that after only a four months at Inspire she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, an autoimmune disease that requires near constant monitoring. The team at Inspire is incredibly open to making accommodations for her, educating themselves about T1D, and always encouraging her to prioritize her health and to trust her body. My daughter has learned how to advocate for herself, communicate her needs, and most importantly she feels incredibly SAFE with her instructors and fellow students. We have watched her push through struggles with perfectionism and anxiety, embrace leadership roles, and gain confidence. The lessons my daughter has learned have carried through into all others of her life. I highly recommend Inspire, especially if you have a child that needs a bit more attention.

Highly Recommend for All Ages! Inspire Martial Arts in downtown Burbank is fantastic! From the moment my wife, son and I walked in, Donna was welcoming and positive. Master Winkle, Master Kati and the entire team are incredibly dedicated, focusing not just on physical techniques but also on character development, like discipline and confidence. They offer a huge range of classes for all ages, including my 13 yr old who is loving the core martial arts program. It is truly a supportive community, not just a martial arts studio. If you're looking for practical self-defense and a place to truly grow, this is it! We've been with them for almost 7 years now. We couldn't thank Master Winkle Master Kati, Chief Donna and Chief KJ and the entire staff for making one of the greatest differences in our lives!
