Not long ago, after a Saturday morning class at Adam's Bootcamp Boxing, I had to pop in at CVS. The cashier nodded hello and said, "Must have been some workout." "How can you tell?" I asked. "Because I'm dripping sweat all over your counter?" He shook his head, and gestured to my biceps, "Nah, I can tell by your guns." I checked myself in the security camera, and yep, I was swole. But, without even counting the unexpected pleasure of intimidating nosy cashiers, I truly had no idea that stepping into this class one April evening almost three years ago would pay off in so many ways. I started coming to classes with Adam just before I turned 40. Don't know if my coming old age was a motivator, or if it was that every time I drove or ran by the gym I peeked in, thinking, "I should do that one day" and finally got sick of stalling. Right off the bat, I loved the no-membership-fees, no-upsell, no-bullshit approach. (Right now, you can pay $20 a class to show up at one of the daily times, or pay for 8 or 12 classes/month in advance and get a discounted rate.) And, though I'd never boxed before and am an admitted spaz, Adam and pretty much everyone at the gym didn't make me feel like a hopeless case. I'm a person who loves novelty and I love that no class is the exact same one twice, yet each class gives me a chance to build on the skills I learned before. You'll get boxing instruction -- starting with the basic punches, and learning combinations and flow between punches -- but also a great strength-building and cardio workout. Be ready to run suicides, jump rope, and do push-ups, squats, lunges, and planks. You will break an ample sweat, and it's hard to deny that pushing yourself to leave it all on the floor will probably make you feel mentally better, even if you're physically sore a couple days later. And you'll keep coming back. I appreciate so much that Adam is a great motivator who respects athletes at all levels. He'll help you modify an exercise if you're dealing with an injury, and he'll make sure you're really giving it your all if you're pretending that your half-assed attempt is your best. I think the whole mood of Adam's gym attracts a good crowd of people, and everyone I've met here is really cool, and make coming to classes that much better. (And, if you're wondering, I think I'm at least 70 percent less spazzy than when I started.) I highly recommend you check out Adam's Bootcamp Boxing. I've been waiting to write my first Yelp review and I am so happy to review Adam's Bootcamp Boxing as my first review: 5 stars+ at that. I started Adam's classes last week after referrals from two friends. I am familiar with the bags, sparring, etc. but haven't boxed for about a year. The moment I stepped into my first class with Adam blasting old school jams and guiding me during the whole class, I knew I'd found a quality bootcamp class and was instantly hooked. The classes are small, people are friendly, Adam is funny/patient/kind, and there's plenty of parking in a great area of Burbank. From jump ropes to speed bags to suicide sprints I feel like Million Dollar Baby every time I go to class and have found my passion for fitness again. He has a heart pumping music mix playing every class and every class is different and non-stop. Your heart rate is constantly up and you work out every part of your body - you'll feel like Rocky when he reaches the top. "YO ADRIANNNNNE!" I have been looking for a work out to beat all workouts. Boy did I ever find one! THE WORKOUT: Adam runs a great class that is ever changing in its line up. Which is great, bc I get bored easily in my work outs. I was a little nervousness about boxing, as I had never hit anything before. This workout is fantastic. I walk away with knowing I worked my whole body and at $10 for an hour?! I'm sold. BEST WORKOUT IN THE VALLEY! THE COACH: He is great at motivating you, but not annoyingly pushy. He may have a full class, but keeps a good eye out to make sure you are in good form, and not going to injure yourself. THE PEOPLE I hate classes full of pretentious people on whatever diet is popular. I come to work out and sweat my butt off, I don't want to talk stocks. I typically HATE bootcamps and refuse to go.....but this bootcamp I swear by!!!! The workout is amazing, the people are so welcoming and supportive and Adam is the best!!! He is supportive, encouraging and motivational! He really pushes you but doesn't scream at you or demean you like some bootcamp instructors and some martial art/ boxing instructors. He really is an amazing instructor and I highly recommend the class! You always leave feeling much better about yourself. I try to go at least twice a week! If I could I would go every day! I've been coming to his classes since February and it's by far my favorite part of my fitness routine. Here's why 1) Results- It's no secret I'm a fitness freak. I took the noon boxing class on Friday and I have nothing but amazing things to say about the entire experience. Very relaxed atmosphere but Adam knows how to put you to work. I seriously don't think I have ever sweat that hard...ever. Adam keeps up great energy through out the class and the pump up music in the background definitely helps. You're constantly moving getting in cardio and toning your muscles at the same. Though there were about 7-8 other people in the class, Adam was very attentive with everyone working on form and technique. I never once realized I was actually working out because the class was fun yet challenging. It was great workout and the people in the class were very nice and helpful being it was my first time there. There was also plenty of parking, which is always a 5 star experience in LA. Amazing place to get an amazing workout! Great mix of interval cardio, and fun boxing drills for one hour! No easy challenge. Great location: Next to a 7-11 (for any ATM needs), plenty of street parking, and safe surrounding area! The class has great energy, very loud and helps keep you going. Adam couldn't be a nicer guy, and is very helpful for anyone who has zero boxing experience. Classes are $15 (cash only), which is a great price compared to a few other cross/cardio spots I've tried. Adams Bootcamp is amazing. I've taken his classes for over 3 years and the results are amazing. This hour long class incorporates all the fundamentals of boxing. It's fun and reduces a ton lot of stress. Each class is always different but expect to get some time on the bags (heavy, speed and upper cut), one on one pad work, weights, footwork and rope just to name a few. It's affordable and Adam is always willing to help with technique. I've also done personal training with Adam. I highly recommend this to anyone just starting out. read more

Adam is a great guy. When I was injured in a car accident a while back I thought that my boxing workouts days were over. I explained my injury to Adam and he helped me to modify my work out so I could get maximum benefit from his classes without the risk of re injuring myself. First off let me say that I have never committed to one particular place to workout my entire life for this long. I've tried them all from Morning Bootcamp classes to Foxy and Fierce to numerous other Bootcamps. So trust me when I say this has been the only place to get that level of commitment from me and in which I actually really don't feel good if I don't come in and I actually miss it. Wow. Ok. So here's the rundown: The classes are an hour long. And you will literally work the entire time. There are no breaks. Workouts are never the same, every time is different. Do you ever wonder how boxers stay so thin? Answer: Cardio and lots of it You will build up your endurance over time. Will you sweat? You will be drenched. Now I usually like to come early so I can stretch. Adam doesn't have that as part of the workout so if you feel you need that then you can come on your own early and stretch. Also at the end of the workout you should stretch on your own before you leave. Cost: $15 per session no contracts which is awesome Or there are packages you can purchase as well. I usually buy the $150 pack and so essentially you pay for 10 classes but you're getting a total of 12, so you're getting 2 free classes Equipment: Gloves- if it's your first time no worries Adam has it for you to use. But if you're going to come on a regular basis I would suggest getting your own set of gloves. This is a no frills boxing Bootcamp class in which people are nice, Adam is amazing, and you feel stronger and better and destressed at the end of each workout read more

I checked out Adam's Bootcamp Boxing for the 6:30 a.m. class on Thursday after reading all the amazing reviews here on Yelp and on Facebook. I was a little bit nervous at first because I didn't know what to expect and I know literally nothing about boxing.
