Highly recommend Mr. Sarkis, the violin teacher. My son has been learning violin for about 2 months. Mr. Sarkis pays a lot of attentions on details such as correcting my son's standing position when holding the violins, how he holds the bow, how his fingers should be positioning. He can be funny, he can be serious about the learning attitude and commitment about practicing. My son respects him a lot. And of course we love him too.

The pace of lessons are tailored towards the student; if a faster pace is preferred he can do that, and he really excels in helping those who want to understand how and why everything works together. Very patient in explanations and works to make sure the student understands the concept. Not only that, but he stays up late helping students with math and answering questions past midnight. He cares about his students and I'll definitely miss his classes as I'm off to university. There are many math tutors, but Terry is the person you go to for an in-depth understanding of coursework. Highly recommended for calculus (my experience) and everything else.

He not only focuses on teaching his students but also cares deeply about building strong connections with them. Terry is extremely patient, knowledgeable, and is able to explain confusing topics in a way that was easy to understand. He ensured that I not only understood the topic but also confident in anything I was given! He is also able to understand and adapt to the many different teaching styles by the teachers at my school. No matter the time or day, he was always there for me. I still remember the night before one of my Calculus exams. I was Terry's last student of the day, and our session was supposed to end at 11:30pm. He stayed on the Zoom call with me until midnight, patiently helping me with the questions I struggled to understand. I cannot recommend Terry highly enough. If you're looking for a math tutor who goes above and beyond to support their students, Terry is the perfect choice. Thank you, Terry, for everything you've done for me!

I can say with total confidence that Ms. Raven is the most responsible teacher I've encountered…read moreacross all the after-school programs we've tried. Her dedication is unmatched. Why This Program Stands Out: Personalized Progress Tracking: Ms. Raven tracks every student's progress weekly and personally calls parents to provide updates and listen to any feedback or suggestions. Shift in Attitude: My child went from hating math to actually being willing to attend. The "Reward System" they have in place is very effective at keeping kids motivated. Self-Paced Learning: Students can work at their own pace, which gives them a great sense of freedom and reduces pressure. Curriculum Balance: The material is a mix of what they are currently learning in school and new concepts they haven't seen yet. While it doesn't strictly follow the school's timeline, it keeps them challenged. No Homework: Perhaps the best part is that there is no extra homework to bring home. For a child who is already resistant to math, this is a huge plus. Ultimate Flexibility: They are open Monday through Saturday, and you can drop in at any time. There are no fixed class slots, which is incredibly convenient for a busy schedule. Bottom Line: If you are looking for a supportive environment where your child can overcome their fear of math without the burden of extra homework, I highly recommend this place!

My son was struggling with math due to his difficulty in focusing, understanding the concepts and overall the language of math. I have seen dramatic changes with his math skills, confidence and it also helps that he looks forward to coming here. During the summer of last year I was so surprised in his speed and understanding of math. He also became really great in doing mental math. I am unsure if Mathnasium had anything to do with it but regardless I am satisfied customer and a happy mother. My son also has had some bad days due to his personal behavior but Raven and the tutors are incredible. They are professional and do no lose their cool or their demeanor when my son tries to tests his limits. My daughter who is 7 years old could come here every day if she could. Many times shes the one asking if she could go even when her two brothers are not with her. She loves the incentives. They definitely keep her motivated. Raven is friendly, personable, professional and is great at updating us with the kids progress. Many times when she is not talking to parents I love to chat with her and pick her brain about anything related to math, learning styles, kids behaviors, etc. My only suggestion and hopes for the future plans with Mathnasium is if they could be open on Fridays and expand their hours.

Note: the things I will say below are from personal experience. If there's anything else that happened, comment under this review. The interview is related to chess. This interview is meant to evaluate skills, see the interest the child has in chess, and also have the coach know the student a bit better personally. It does NOT matter the kid passes the interview or not when it comes to chess skills, this just evaluates character. Any chess skills are a bonus. Coaches there will not outright refuse you without reason. They will give reason, and they will tell you if there is anything that does not sit right with them. They are very honest people, and will not say anything to insult you on purpose. Do not do last minute changes to schedules. Each coach sets a time for a reason. They set time because there are other kids that have classes. The coaches will be understanding if you do have a delay, but please do not be unreasonably late and hope the coach will still wait. Overall this has been a second family to me. I've known these coaches for a good bit of my life, and I highly recommend Wing chess if you have a kid that's looking for a friendly environment to learn and have fun. I would come here. Sincerely, a long time student.

I was a little skeptical but decided to at least give them a call (also heard their ads on NPR which was a plus in my mind). I'm so glad I did, it's made my life so much easier and I swear my kids are happier because of it. I only use a nanny two hours a day, but it spares me the stress of speeding home frantically to pick up the kids...they get picked up by the nanny (who is wonderful and practically part of the family), she gets them started on their homework, gives them a snack, and even takes them to lessons and practices when needed. The process of selecting a nanny was very thorough, which was really important to me. The owner, Amy (who is awesome), comes over to meet the family and kids and learns about the big and small things (my girls love soccer, and our nanny was a HS varsity player...small detail but makes a big difference). They recommend a few candidates based on your preferences and you get to interview them individually...this was extremely helpful as you can observe them interacting with the kids and pick the one you like best. We interviewed three who were all outstanding but we stopped on the third after we found a nanny we loved. You also get the extra reassurance of a background security check, driving records, and first aid training. I can't say enough good things about this service, highly highly recommended.

Stemtree in Diamond Bar is so different and stands out by doing just that. My kids go to Stemtree afterschool and they do homework, enrichment such as math and English, then Stem hands on activities such as science, making light up lantern (physic), make crystals (chemistry), slime, 3d printing, build legos that move, code (robotics) and more. The stem portion is very structured and organized with different activities planned out each week. Kids will move between different modules. My kids don't particularly have strong interest in stem initially but I choose Stemtree for exposure to science and hands on activity to build creativity. Also they try to prepare kids for future and just started testing reading comprehension with Star test for their AR level monthly. My school does Star AR test quarterly, but it's nice to have it monthly here to see the progress, help them see results and also improve on test taking skills. During the last school holiday (no school) they have a Columbus theme day where kids builds boats and have a competition of see who's boat floats the best in water and kids got prizes.
