Stemtree in Diamond Bar is so different and stands out by doing just that. My kids go to Stemtree afterschool and they do homework, enrichment such as math and English, then Stem hands on activities such as science, making light up lantern (physic), make crystals (chemistry), slime, 3d printing, build legos that move, code (robotics) and more. The stem portion is very structured and organized with different activities planned out each week. Kids will move between different modules. My kids don't particularly have strong interest in stem initially but I choose Stemtree for exposure to science and hands on activity to build creativity. Also they try to prepare kids for future and just started testing reading comprehension with Star test for their AR level monthly. My school does Star AR test quarterly, but it's nice to have it monthly here to see the progress, help them see results and also improve on test taking skills. During the last school holiday (no school) they have a Columbus theme day where kids builds boats and have a competition of see who's boat floats the best in water and kids got prizes. They also have many othe events.

Just when a child enters, they get occupied from the time they come in with activity after activity which is so engaging and interesting that the excitement keeps going on all day. The after-school program is really well-organized and balanced with learning and fun. The staff is very knowledgable and enthusiastic, which increases interest in kids beyond measure. My kid would come back home daily, having made new discoveries, always looking forward to the next day. The afterschool at Stemtree far exceeded our expectations and will be a really great way to spend the summer here. We would recommend them to all!

From Ms Judy at front desk to Marlee the director have always been so helpful to our family. Our daughter loves this place. Ms. Marlene, Ms Helen and all the other ladies that work there are so amazing. I cannot express the words of gratitude and appreciation I have for this place. It's not easy to find a daycare as a parent you can trust to care for your children when you're unable to for work. It's always a tough and emotional process and transition. This place exceeded my expectation and we've had the pleasure of many other daycares care for my daughter and son. I can say you're very blessed if you are allowed the opportunity to have your children here. I hope this place remains true to it's values and continues doing what it does for the children and families. The staff is the biggest part of this. Treat them well!

In fact, if not for a change in my work arrangements she AND her old sister would be attending this location for their current after school care. My daughter really blossomed academically and socially here with teachers Ms. Berenice, Ms. Karina, Ms. Maria, Ms. Alexis and Mr. Giovanni to just name a few. The executive director, Ms. Tracy, is very friendly, helpful and approachable. I was really pleased with the focus on learning that was balanced by creative and active play along with a lot of games, arts and physical activity. I still get teared up when I recall the sweet Mothers Day bunch and performance that they learned and memorized under the guidance of their teachers! They offer several activities, healthy snacks and field trips. It's an older facility that could use some updating but for Los Angeles or Orange County commuting parents it is in a good location off the 57 freeway near the 60 & 10 freeway merges. As working parent I recommend this preschool and daycare highly. The care and education they invest in the kids has really shown in how successful my daughter has been in transitioning to Kindergarten & I thank the team at the YMCA Diamond Bar @ Sunset Crossing for being her preschool providers.

The school is incredibly well-organized, and every staff member is warm and welcoming. My daughter felt so loved and supported at Learning Tree. Two weeks ago, she took the English test for the Walnut Unified School District, and the teacher was surprised by how good her handwriting was. I know this is because of the dedication of the teachers who have helped her grow. I want to end my review by sharing a picture she drew in class. It's hanging on our fridge. The drawing shows her teacher smiling as my daughter raises her hand to answer a question. It says, "I love to learn." This picture touches my heart deeply. As an educator myself, nurturing a lifelong love of learning is something I've always hoped to instill in my child. It does NOT matter the kid passes the interview or not when it comes to chess skills, this just evaluates character. Any chess skills are a bonus. He loved the variety of activities and made so many new friends. He came home with fun stories each day. I loved that they offered a variety of options from 2 days/week to 5 days. We returned last summer and an unexpected and sudden medical event threw our summer for a loop. They were beyond kind and accommodating. Michael, the owner, personally made sure we were taken care of at a very scary time and was just incredibly kind and communicative. I can't thank him and his staff enough for the support. I would recommend this camp for any family. Its like a classic, old-school summer day camp experience!

My son attended Adventurewood camp for the first time this week. For the most part he enjoyed…read morehimself -- particularly the characters they introduce throughout the week. However, we decided to pull him out for next week because of a very disturbing situation. He shared that a counselor had pushed him with both hands on his shoulders during a capture the flag activity. He had dropped his flag and was putting it back on when a counselor (he didn't know her name) pushed him back hard enough to make him lose his balance and fall. She also barked "you need to reset!" She didn't ask if he was ok or help him up. You'd think if this was an accidental push and he fell over she would say something like "sorry bud are you ok? Here let me help you up" but nope, not a word. A friend he's attending camp with witnessed the whole incident. Since I pick them both up in the afternoons they both recounted this situation to me and both of them noted how inappropriate her behavior was. I immediately reached out to Michael, the owner of the camp. He said he wanted to identify this counselor and get her side of the story. Understandable. My son felt uncomfortable going back the next day but I reassured him it would be handled and offered to drop him off in the morning and stick around to talk to Michael and the counselor. I wanted him to feel safe. Michael identified her (her name is Carson) and said he wanted to talk to her first, which he did a few feet away from me. I heard her say she didn't push him. They then walked over to me and she again denied everything. So we asked both kids to come over and recount what happened. They both did -- in front of her -- and reiterated she pushed him. She denied even touching him. So Michael suggests at this point that perhaps it was an accident and my son responds by saying "how do you push someone like that by accident?!" No response. So I ask her, are you saying these kids are lying? She again said she didn't touch him and at this point we send the kids away. I'm incensed because not only does she gaslight both of them to their face but tells this bold faced lie to her boss in front of the campers and me. I tell her I believe them and I think she's the one lying. At this point she gives me this dirty look - angry, irritated and almost rolls her eyes at me. I turn to Michael and say "and now she's giving ME an attitude?!" Unbelievable. In a follow up call, he tells me how good of a person she is and that this is shocking for him to hear but that she doesn't seem like someone who would do something like this...that she's getting her teacher credentials and he knows her really well. I am getting the vibe he doesn't actually believe any of this and he sounds very skeptical. I respond by telling him that it's almost always surprising when people exhibit bad behavior and that even teachers do bad things...that doesn't make her any more credible in my eyes. He acknowledged that. In fact, it's worse because I would be really concerned to have someone like that teaching a kid. Lack of empathy, accountability, and integrity. I mean, I think it's great he's trying to have her back but there are moments in life when you need to draw a line and act swiftly...these are one of those moments. Because ultimately, this impacts the reputation of your camp. I told him that it would be good to offer training to his staff in case this ever happens again in the future and honestly he sounded baffled and asked me to clarify...I said well maybe tell your staff not to give dirty looks to a mom who's clearly upset that her son just got pushed by a grown adult at summer camp?? I told him that the response to this situation could've resulted in a totally different outcome. Had she said something like "I really don't recall pushing you but if I inadvertently did and made you feel bad I'm sorry - I didn't mean to do that" - I would've went home that morning feeling fine about the situation. When I told him this he said that he's not going to police all her reactions, that she's still young, that she's still learning and made all kinds of excuses for her. Exhausting. Apparently she got a "warning" and will sit out of the flag activity (umm, ok...). He seems like a smart guy and wish him nothing but success in the future and I was earnestly trying to offer advice for how to handle a situation like this better but it fell on deaf ears. I really hope that some kind of learning comes out of this for both of them. Oh and to top it off, my son's friend told her mom that Carson was giving her looks several times throughout the day today and when she asked what kind she said "side eye" looks. NOT COOL. My son also said she was kind of mean to him but wondering why they were even in close proximity when Michael said they'd absolutely be separated and would not see each other? Validates we both made the right choice by pulling them both out. He offered a refund but I'm still pissed about the situation.

The Country Club…read more Waited a long time to write this review. Now that we have moved away... This is the country club; for kids. White glove service, safe, clean environment for children to THRIVE! Run, don't walk. Teachers are caring, gentle, and incredibly patient. The owner, Mrs Tina, really has an eye for hiring the right person for the right age group. The staff is warm, diverse (Mandarin and Spanish speaking), and attentive to the children's needs. More importantly, the parents needs :) Many of the staff have been here for over a decade. We saw many times, staff being promoted from within, uplifting the community. Updates: Phone App with pictures of what your child is up to, what they ate, how long they slept. You can call and speak with your child's teacher incase you forgot something. The owner and School director are ALWAYS available for any concerns, and address them immediately. Understandably, there is no remote access to cameras for others privacy, but you can sit in the office and watch the screen all day if you wish. Yelp: There was a child who was injured a few weeks after we started. Concerning. We were second guessing our decision to send our kids here. Naturally, we went and spoke with the director for clarity. She was very transparent, while respecting the child's identity and privacy. We never got the feeling like she was making excuses or hiding anything. We then saw the director and administrators going over the playground with a fine tooth comb to see where padding and barriers could be added to improve safety. The owner had a whole construction crew out there the next day improving the hard scape! Tea: There were a group of HOA karen type moms who tried to organize a mass exodus bc their unreasonable demands were not acquiesced. Extreme. Honeys, you're gorgeous, chill on the botox... They made a whole face book group trashing the school. As usual, Mrs Tina went above and beyond w accommodations, but nothings ever good enough. Hire an au pair. Extra: No expenses are spared for activities. Reptiles, magic shows, characters, face painting, bounce house, bubble party, color fight (Holi), water play, what did i miss? Who does this?? The end of year parties are a whole production... Academics: They regularly survey the local schools for proficiency levels, and adjust the curriculum. By the time your kids go to primary school, they will be far ahead of the pack. Owner: Mrs Tina can easily run an investment bank, yet she CHOOSES this torture. Think the tuition is expensive? 30 people on payroll, rent/CAM, repairs, taxes, food to feed 100+ kids, insurance, licensing, compliance, in California. I often wonder how shes making money at all? For teacher appreciation week, she had food catered, gifts, and paid for EVERY teachers car to get a full detail. She treats people with kindness, fairness, makes sure everyone feels included, and is having fun! Wonderful human being. Miss Tina, we see you...
