The difference she has made has been incredible. Before working with her, he struggled with Math homework and felt anxious when faced with learning challenges. With Ms. Amahni's patience, encouragement, and ability to explain concepts in a way he could understand, he developed much greater confidence in his abilities. Not only did his math grades improve, but he also earned the Principal's Award and a Certificate for Math Achievement this year--something we are very proud of. Even though my son still isn't a fan of homework (what kid is right?! Lol), Ms. Amahni made learning feel less overwhelming for him. I highly recommend Ms. Amahni to parents looking for a tutor who can help their child build both academic skills and self-confidence. She is patient, dependable, and very easy to communicate with. She consistently kept us informed of his progress and truly cared about his success. What more could you ask for besides snacks/treats at the ready? Oh, she has that too!

Accommodating and professional, for any student in any academic status…read more C2 got me on track in high school for not just college applications, but required tests (ACT and SAT). Now I attend a University of California [UC] as an A student. If the letters used to grade high-schoolers were cards in a deck, surely I had a full house in my late sophomore year. F's, D's, C's littered my transcript in the spring of 2016. I was called into my academic advisor's office for a planning session that included my mother. It embarrassed her to see that I was on a path to community college instead of the higher education she had planned for me. My advisor recommended I look for a vocational school. Then he asked me what I really wanted. Something like, "Are you satisfied with how you do now?" "No," I replied. I wanted more for myself. That's always the first step. After hearing my wish to turn my academic career around, my advisor recommended I find tutoring and apply for harder classes in the future. He recommended C2. Probably hundreds of hours of C2 tutoring gave me the edge to take on AP classes with a 2.9 and turn around to a 3.5 my senior year of high school. My notes improved, my test scores reached 90's, and suddenly my advisor introduced me to some quality college options. The SAT and ACT prep had paid off. One on one tutoring. SAT, ACT prep. Personalized tutoring plans with long term goals. Meetings whenever I wanted to go over my progress. Professional outlooks on my academic status. Now I go to the University of California, Merced, with the option to transfer to other UC's. I'm in my second year with a 3.9+. All A's, thrice on the Dean's List. Without C2 I might not even be in higher education. I wanted more for myself, and I needed C2 to realize my dreams. Thank you to Arlene, Juan, and everyone else that I'm surely forgetting. Arlene especially. You've helped me go from missing my potential to the top of my class.

The space is very new, clean, and has many classrooms, including a dance studio, art studio, music room, and plenty of space and materials for kids to learn, do homework, or take extracurricular activities. Emily and her team of educators are very caring and attentive to each student. They help with school homework and offer a huge selection of classes and activities each day, including Chinese, English, math, dance, and art. Emily is very flexible about the times that my son attends and is incredibly accommodating about which classes he takes. They keep the classes purposefully small to ensure individualized attention and safety during COVID times, and they offer transportation from nearby schools. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality of care, education, and attention given to each student. I can't rave enough of about this place and I can't wait to see this center grow! (P.S. My son was previously in Emily's Busy Bees preschool for almost 2 years and my daughter is a current student - just another testament to the amazing quality and care of Emily, her team, and the Busy Bees program!)

This of course rendered negligible improvements. I say this with confidence, AEA Academy is by far the most effective tutoring center we have tried out. The tutors here have the ability to comprehensively cover an entire school year's worth of material in two months. In addition to their speedy yet effective curriculum plan, the staff here hold high regard for and subsequently, improve student versatility outside of academics. From personal experience, AEA changes the way a student may view challenges from the classroom to their everyday lives. Speaking as someone who does not typically go out of their way to build a relationship, the simple things like everyday conversations and occasional guidance has taught me patience. This may seem odd, but due to the methods that the teachers here use, such as the integration of casual conversation into studies, I have felt a dissipation of my long-lasting sense of education being a burden. And from the rubble of my previous perceptions of tutoring, came an increased appreciation for the process of learning and an increased will to learn. Something I would have never expected to attribute from taking tutoring classes. I highly recommend AEA, you will be surprised what you can learn.

When one teacher wasn't the right fit, the staff was flexible and supportive in helping us make a change. The director and front desk are thoughtful, accommodating, and always focused on what's best for the students. Recently, my daughter switched to cello and absolutely loves it--her teacher, Jasper, is genuine, respectful, and makes learning the cello feel relaxed despite its challenges. Recitals are fun, and we're so happy with the program and its affordability that we plan to enroll our other kids in piano group lessons for music theory. We'll update this review then!

We signed up through the city recreation program. It was advertised as Introduction to Piano. It…read morereally should be Introduction to musical instruments since other instruments were introduced. I felt mislead, but my daughter ended up enjoying it. She really wanted to play the piano so we continued to take the classes. The way they teach piano is by scales, Solfège. The monthly tuition at the moment is $137 per month for 1 hour lesson once a week. They take zelle, card, or cash. The classes are pretty big in my opinion. Maybe 10 kids per class. I think it's way too big. Especially with little kids. Should be 5 kids per class or maybe 4. I say that cause I can see the instructors are trying to keep it together when the littles get out of order. One of them rebuked my 6 year old child for touching some instrument. I couldn't see what she was doing, so I didn't say anything. It was quite embarrassing. I'm the parent I could have taken my kid out to speak to her and tell her not to touch anything and spared her the embarrassing rebuke in front of the whole class, but anyways. There is another music school in Walnut that teaches piano by letters. Might be a good choice for a kid that wants to learn piano seriously. It's called Tchaikovsky school of music. The price is reasonable for 30 min private lesson depending on what level of instructor you choose. Which is better for little kids cause it's shorter. They'll also work with you if you need reschedule, and wont charge for days the instructor is on vacation. Music N Smart is a decent music school, but it's only 1 out of several you can choose from. They wont work with you if you need to reschedule and will still charge full price if they are on vacation.
