I love Stowell. It is so amazing. I think for kids who have learning disabilities or anything else that they need help with it truly does help I went there, but I am actually gonna go back tomorrow. Tomorrow is my first day going back, but I literally love this place so much. I definitely recommend it is so helpful. I've learned a lot and it's just crazy to think how it helps your brain when you're like. I feel like that's not gonna help my brain or not gonna help me learn but it really does, everybody so nice and helpful and just amazing. Love Stowell Learning center! I have taken my sweet foster daughter for the RGM class. I would love to have her in the full program but haven't been able to get it funded yet. I emailed this center and they scheduled me a consult over the phone. I did not get a call from them until the day after my scheduled appointment. I asked the gal why they were calling me the next day, and she just apologized for the late call. I was quoted $395 for assessment, and had to give them $100 fee on the call before I hung up if I wanted an appointment, which I gave them. Now that I am filling out the forms (online before assessment), it says the fee for assessment is $595. I did ask that after assessment, how much would it cost for any given program and I was quoted anywhere from $800 a month to $1800, depends on program suggested. I'm bummed that a place that is so expensive does not have everything done in a timely manner. Update: my intake was good, I will update when program is complete. My son has been coming here about a month and loves it. He's really improved in comprehension at school and comes home excited to tell me what he's learned. It's a lot of work making sure he comes here 4 times a week plus at home exercises and the listening program, but I'm seeing big improvements in his academics and his ability to communicate his thoughts and retain information. read more

My 9-year-old son suffered from encephalitis and Guillain-Barre Syndrome. We had a difficult time finding a learning center in Las Vegas, NV to meet his needs. I'm a PICU nurse and college nursing instructor, so I understood what he needed to help with his recovery. He needed help on multiple levels including his primitive reflexes, reading, spelling, focus, core strength, auditory and visual processing, and tools to cope with his emotions. Stowell Learning Center was recommended to us by my son's audiologist, Dr. Pamela Best. There is not one doctor in Las Vegas who tests for auditory processing disorder. We have only been with Stowell Learning Center for almost a month. We travel there once a month, but we predominately complete his treatments at home and consult with a representative from the center once a week. My husband and I have seen big changes. My son was going to the nurse's office 3 to 4 times a week prior to visiting the center for his anxiety and fatigue. He was sucking on things and chewing paper. He has not been to the nurse's office since the New Year! He is more focused in school and with homework. He is emotionally more stable and can reason better. The treatment is time consuming on the parent, but it is worth it. The representatives at the learning center have been patient and flexible with me. I have even received tips on helping my son get more organized. I can't give enough positive words to the staff at Stowell Learning Center. I highly recommend this place, especially if your child has suffered from a head injury or has ADHD. My son was diagnosed with ADHD post the head injury. He is not on medications right now, and I hope to keep it that way. Liz is AMAZING at the center. Stowell is really amazing! It's not just a tutoring center that help kids to read. It's helping them learn life skills. My son loves Ms. Liz and he has been working with her for 2 years. He is now reading close to grade level and he has improved tremendously with his behaviors. I will make it quick and to the point. You take a test before and after the course($500 for the test, $1,000 for the books) The school is taught by part time college students, not PhD candidates. They cost $90/hr. My son went the full 6 month course. His test revealed he was "almost" there and just needed a little bit. And you ask what do you get for $13,000 and 6 months of driving in traffic back and forth? 2% better. 2% BETTER!!! Dont worry, Ms. Stowell tells you, you can now join the advanced summer session for 4 hrs a day, for another $10,000. Why didnt we start with the "advanced" session first? BECAUSE THEY ARE ROBBING YOU!!! The entire course is based on playing cards, stretching on the floor, and listening to classical music every night with head phones. I kid you not. And the owner, Ms. Stowell, she has her own problems, after day one, she will NEVER SAY A WORD TO YOU AGAIN. You will see her ever time you are there but she will NOT even acknowledge you or even say hello. Dont waste your money read more

My daughter has been attending stowell for 2 months now and we see a big difference in her behavior already!!! She calms herself quicker now, she is not such a wiggle worm anymore and she has not come home from school with so many empty papers this year. I offer five stars even though I don't have knowledge of other similar learning centers. However, it is tough to imagine that the caring and professional staff at Stowell isn't as good as it gets. My child is dyslexic and since starting at Stowell, we have noticed a steady improvement in his reading and we are optimistic that in time, he will reach grade level. Just as important, the clinicians pay attention to more than just test scores. If confidence and self-esteem issues are getting in the way, the clinicians address them - which is critical for kids with learning challenges. Like many parents of kids with LDs, we were very concerned about making the right choices to help our child and by enrolling him at Stowell Learning Center, we believe we made a very good choice. read more

The Stowell Learning is special because they get to the root of the problem and work to permanent fix the problem, not just stick a bandaid on it. When my son was having attention problems, the Stowell Learning Center staff looked to find the reason the attention problem existed. All the activities the center has him do are directed at ensuring that those problems are corrected to ensure the attention problem is corrected. The staff is caring and supportive. Our son has shown so much progress since joining the SLC program. In school, he raised both his writing and comprehension grades from a C- to an A and B respectively. His teacher and his baseball coaches noticed a difference with his improved listening skills. We rarely have to repeat directions to him at home anymore. There are some days when he doesn't feel like going to SLC but no matter how he feels before going, he always comes out with a really positive attitude and happy. After only 125 hours, Stowell Learning Center has increased my daughter's communication skills tremendously. She has a severe stutter and has been in traditional speech therapy for 11 years with no significant improvement. At Stowell, she has used rhythm therapy and visualizing techniques to improve her ability and willingness to communicate. They offer a variety of techniques to address each student individually. Stowell Learning Center (SLC) has helped our granddaughter tremendously. Other places we tried could not even test Alyssa. However, SLC was able to test, level set, and help Alyssa's reading skills, her attitude, her confidence. SLC takes a holistic approach by both physical and mental exercises and helping those that can't focus to focus. Laura, our therapist, is absolutely awesome. When Alyssa started, she would only growl at strangers where now through constant introductions to all the therapists and other students she now introduces herself and holds a conversation. Alyssa has learned phonics and has been beginning to read. In first grade, her improvement in subjects varied from 800% to 1,400%. Alyssa has won art contests and will have a winner hanging at the LA Fair this year, although she used to just growl at the teacher not that long ago. Alyssa can now sit and focus the entire hour on art in art class. SLC also enlists music therapy to grow the synapse in the brain. All of these strategies are enlisted by Laura with testing and consistent feedback to us. I could go on but the bottom line is if you have tried other places for your child to no avail, please look into Stowell Learning Center. In talking with the other parents, most had given up on helping their children until they heard about Stowell. We heard about it from someone else as well.
