This change was made without any formal email notification or phone call to inform us that they would begin charging monthly fees, regardless of whether we used their services. As a result, for six months after we stopped tutoring, they charged over $400 per month without our knowledge. We only discovered this during a routine credit card audit. When we raised this issue, my husband and I spent hours dealing with their customer service. We encountered significant frustration, including having to repeatedly explain the situation and being passed around to representatives who lacked the authority to resolve the issue. In the end, they refunded only three out of the six months in dispute. This resolution was deeply unsatisfactory. Varsity Tutors switched us to a new pricing model without our consent, charged us for months of unused services, and refused to fully rectify the situation.
