I have a ten-year-old daughter. I contacted Connect the Dots after a parent-teacher conference where her teacher, once again, told me improvement was needed in the areas of reading and spelling, and I just didn't know what to do. After this conference, I e-mailed Noel at Connect the Dots, and he contacted me right away by phone. After that phone call I felt he was so knowledgeable and reassuring that I felt relief in my mind that we had a plan of action; and that proactive plan made me feel that Noel could help her more than I could alone. Connect the Dots Learning has been working with my daughter one-on-one for approximately six months. I have seen remarkable improvement in these areas. I've just recently enrolled her in the homework club there where she goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and she works on her homework with the assistance of Noel and his helper. These two days she has come home with her homework finished or nearly finished, and she can relax once she's home. They help her with common core, which is completely incomprehensible to me. The stress of me helping her is gone at least for those two days of the week. I feel as parents we have stressful jobs and lives. Having my daughter at Connect the Dots gives me peace of mind and lets me focus on my work and other things because I feel that I am doing the best thing for my daughter so she can learn and be successful at school. I Was really hoping it would have been a positive experience and help for my child. Read the the reviews even bought his book. Upon initial contact Mr. Noel appeared pleasant and dedicated to helping children improve. We met and discussed my child and I left feeling optimistic. Mr. Noel stated that my child needed to be tested in 3 areas- Reading, Writing, and Math each test costing $150 totaling $450 It seemed expensive however, if it was to benefit my child I would pay the amount. After the test it was discovered my child needed one on one help in Writing and Math. Mr. Noel said at the minimum my child needed 2 hours in each subject per week at $90 an hour, so $360 per week. Again, the price seemed quite high but I really wanted to help my child improve and I remained optimistic and would pay at this time hoping for the best. Mr. Noel stated if you paid up front you would receive a 20% discount. I was never given any paperwork stating the plan and cost. After my child's first tuturing lesson my experience with Connect The Dots became negative. Mr. Noel who initially appeared so pleasant, helpful, and caring wanted a full payment of $1,800 for 5 weeks and handed us a contract to sign. Upon stating that I would be paying per session $180 Mr. Noel seemed annoyed and his disposition changed he became abrasive and stated, " I told you that you needed to pay up front in order to get the discount." He gave us a contract (3 pages) to sign and give back. My husband stated he wanted to take it home and read it first, Mr. Noel was not happy about that either. He stated we needed to pay a fee $1,800 up front, plus a registration fee of $99, and return the signed contract. I was taken back by his sudden attitude change, he appeared more interested in getting his money, having us sign a contract, which upon reading was all about making sure he had No liability, it stated that if your child was hurt at his center even by staff he would not be held liable, it further stated if you missed a session you could Not make it up, that's $180 you would still have to pay if your child were to become ill. It stated, you must sign all your rights away for your child and that the Connect the Dots Center would not be held responsible for anything. It also stated that it could only guarantee improvement if you attended 150 hours for every year your child is behind. So at $90 per hour, you would have to pay $13,500 for him to guarantee a year improvement for your child! Upon stating we would prefer to pay per hour and not all up front, he replied we would not have a guaranteed spot. He later stated he would NOT be the one tuturing it would be someone else. I asked him about the background of this person and he replied, "it was not relevant and none of my concern" when I stated, it was my concern if the person who was going to be doing the tutoring of my child was not him. Come to find out, this tutor was a college student, No college degree and Not even studying education. Then he stated, "if you want me to tutor it is $200 an hour! I don't know how many people can afford $800 a week for 4 hours of tutoring. In his positive reviews it implies he will be the one helping your child. WRONG a person without a degree and not even majoring in Child Education will be tuturing you child for $90 an hour. I did not like Mr. Noel's attitude or sudden focus on his payment, I stated I was not feeling comfortable with this, paid $180 for the two hours my child was tutored and left. I was very disappointed with Mr. Noel, I felt I had been deceived and manipulated. I had invested time, energy, emotion and expense in this person for naught. The end result was we did not return, I have to find a new tutor for my child, and we gave this man $630 for basically nothing. Upon reading the positive reviews BEWARE and don't get sucked in like I did, Mr. Noel will appear very pleasant in the beginning. This place is NOT cheap and his advertising is deceptive. If you do decide to try this place remember to ask a lot of questions, get everything in writing, don't sign anything without reading it, and find out what you are truly signing up for. The most unfortunate thing in this whole experience is that the initial one in need of help (my child) is the one who is the most negatively affected. read more

I wanted to highly recommend this place. A couple of my younger cousins have been attending Connect the Dots during this past school year and have improved their reading, writing, and math skills tremendously. Noel is is very understanding and cares about the progress and well being of all the students that he works with. The tutors he employs are very knowledgable and more than capable. I found connect the dots learning on yelp and I am so glad I did. The office is very nice and accommodating. Noel was my tutor and he provided lots of help, breaking down my questions with his experience. With only one session I have seen an improvement with my math skills and my confidence has gone up. My daughter, who has ADD and mild Asperger's, has been working with Noel on math skills since January. He is incredibly patient and kind to her and keeps her focused on the task at hand. When she drifts from the topic or becomes frustrated, he steers her back to the lesson and solves the problem. Her math scores have improved since she began tutoring and she will attend the summer session to prepare for the start of the next school year. I highly recommend Noel and his teaching methods. Connect the dots is a wonderful place to get tutoring. With the Common Core change this year my son had a very hard time understanding the worksheets and homework. I even had a hard time understanding some of the worksheets. One month into school we had to get him tutoring instead of me trying to teach him. My husband had told me about Noel and his company after meeting him at the gym. He gave us pointers to help build my sons vocabulary. We thought we would meet with him and try tutoring thru his company. The first time we met as a family and we spent about 2-3 hours just talking about what we wanted and expected. He gave us the prices of everything. He did mention private tutoring is the most promising for academic growth and that is obvious but our budget allowed us to stick with homework help twice a week. We signed a contract and we paid monthly. He had told us that each tutor would have up to 4 students each and he would hire more if he got more students as the year progressed. I was really impressed by this one. This is like having one on one help with my child and not paying for it. I have heard of other tutoring places and they put 10-15 students in a classroom and the homework come back incorrect and the parents have to sit there and redo homework? I don't think I can deal with paying someone and then have incorrect homework. Not only that but if the kids get done with their homework as my son did he would receive extra worksheets to practice more. True the tutors may or may not have a background in education but the tutors that we had were in med. school and they had knowledge far beyond elementary level and not only that Noel worked very closely to train them to work personally with each personality of each student. I used to stay for the first few months to see how much Noel and his tutors were dedicated. He had creative ways to get ideas across to the kids at their level. Once in a while Noel would join them in classroom to make it fun the for the kids to do homework or to encourage them. More than anything my son wanted to go back to them for homework help. He keeps on saying how much fun he would have and he looks forward to getting a collection of marbles, since he would finish his homework. When asking my son on how tutoring and homework help at connect the dots help him he would say, "they helped me a lot in summarizing for my book club" Noel and his team are very keen into the students. They give us an update on how our child is doing at the end of the day and tells us how we can help our child at home. Noel has given us advice and sites to go to for extra help if needed to practice at home. This is free personal teachings from Noel himself that he could be charging us and I think he should!!! It might just happen in the future you never know. I have to say he is flexible. We had to bring in our kids a half an hour early so the kids can attend soccer or baseball practice and he was kind enough to allow us for few weeks till we figured out our schedule. I don't know a better place to ask for tutoring for my child the people that work there are kind, they listen, they have the positive and never give up motto, they are knowledgable and they are willing to work with you. Hi my name is Martha I have a son name Joseph he was in third grade he had a hard time at school, his grades were really bad. His teacher wanted to send him to special ed or repeat the year . I told the teacher NO! I'll find a way so start looking for a tutoring and I found Mr. Noel. When I met him he was respectful, helpful he explained what I needed to start ,so he STAR testing him to let me know where he should start helping my son . Mr. Noel tutor my son Joseph he pick up his grades I was blown out,plus Mr. Noel found a way so my son wouldn't put a lot of pressure on his fingers when he was writing. .That's one thing Joseph did not want to write so he was getting behind in class so Mr. Noel ask him why he didn't want to write so Joseph let him know what going on so Mr.Noel help him with a way I never thought about.it ...Mr. Noel I want you to know we are thankful ,you have helped my son Joseph on writing, reading he been doing great .He is know in 5th grade passing to go to 6 grade .. First of all, !!Thank You!! to Noel and Staff. I was looking for a tutor for my son who is in the first grade because he was having problems with reading and spelling. I found Connect The Dots on Yelp and made an appointment to talk with Noel. After meeting him, I decided to take my son in for an assessment test. Great decision that was because we figured out why he was having such a hard time with reading and spelling. At Connect The Dots they offer one on one services (a little, ok a lot for a mom of 3) and they offer homework help. As mentioned, I wish I could've afforded the one on one for my son but could not, so we tried out the homework help that they offer there which was more affordable on my part. I was afraid my son would be lost in a crowded class but to my pleasant surprise, they only take 6 students at a time. Well ... To get to the point of all this, I'm VERY HAPPY that I decided to take my son to Connect The Dots. My son was a 50% child :( in school and after CTD my son is now a 80-85% child :) in school, in only about a month and half that he's been going to CTD. I wish I could've found this place sooner. Noel and the Staff have really taken their time with my son and even without the 1on1 they really have helped him tremendously with his homework and with what we found were his "problem" areas in the assessment test. They are really dedicated to helping my son with what he needs and it's kind of like they help 1on1 from what I've seen thus far. As for how my child feels about CTD, honestly I don't think he understands just how much help he's getting (he is only 7) but he really loves that he gets marbles and stickers as rewards. ;) My son hasn't complained of going to CTD so in my book that just means that he enjoys going. I'm extremely grateful we have someone as knowledgeable and professional as Mr. Noel Morales to assist our children with their educational goals. We had some real challenges over the years understanding their custom Individualized Educational Program and set our kids behind. We now have an allied, Mr. Noel Morales outside the school that guides us to our children's best interest. He helps us go over and understand our children's IEP's and reminds constantly about the different tools available to us to improve and reach our children's goals. My children feel they're not alone when it comes to dealing with their homework and they have greater confidence. I have seen improvement in their grades overall and in their personal growth for example, there more independent and are taking greater responsibility. Mr. Noel Morales takes the time to discuss their goals on a weekly basis and encourage and motivates them to stay focus. They're optimistic and enthusiastic in their future for example, my son will be graduating this year from Fullerton Union High School and will be attending Fullerton Community College in the Fall, and my daughter is on track to attend a 4 year university. I can't tell you enough how the skills here changed my daughter's opportunity to read. She was a strong reader but hated to read and was resistant at every turn. After connect the dots, it allowed her to think of reading in a new way and over time she has gone from a child who never read to a child who reads short stories and now the Percy Jackson books. I would like to share the experience that my family had with Connect the Dots Learning, LLC. Our daughter was having some difficulties in 1st. grade and we knew we had to get her a tutor however with school cutbacks the extra programs for tutoring were no longer available. Upon meeting Noel we informed him of the areas that our daughter was having difficulties in and informed him of our expectations and after he detailed explanation of what his program can offer we agreed to have our daughter tutored by him. Noel provided both a one on one and a group session tutoring. Noel's patience's with our daughter and the other students were very impressive, his way of tutoring was made fun and the kids didn't even realize they were being tutored, he made learning fun and spoke in words they could understand and his continuous positive words towards the children "never give up" "you can do anything you set your mind to" "never stop reading". My family has been very impressed with his techniques. Since our daughter has tutored at Connect the Dots Learning Center our daughter has had nothing but improvement at school, her reading skills, math skills, comprehension skills, have increased, increased so much she has received several awards at school and find fun in learning. Noel was able to give us the tools to use at home to continue to make learning fun for our daughter. Connect the dots learning center is a high end learning center that can and will help any learning curve. They are very personable and will connect with you on all levels. They have helped to to understand that I can achieve my goals and so can my children. One thing I like the most about connect the dots learning center is that they can help you even if you're running out of time or need the extra help by a specific dead line. If you want a family oriented business you have to choose connect the dots learning center because it doesn't get any better than knowing that they're not there just to make money, they're truly, honestly and humbly, to help your kids excel and achieve all of their academic endeavors. If you struggle with reading, I mean really struggle with reading, connect the dot learning centers is where you need to be. If you struggle with math (addition, subtraction, division) connect the dots learning center is where you need to be. If you struggle was language arts, calculus, trigonometry, algebra, geometry, biology it doesn't matter what it is you struggle with connect the dots learning center is there for you to help you through the struggle. There's no price that compares to your child's education I know there's definitely not one for mine. I would pay any price to make sure he was able to succeed and excel in all of his goals and endeavors in life. So don't you feel that your child deserves a winning, fighting chance as well?
