The school is incredibly well-organized, and every staff member is warm and welcoming. My daughter felt so loved and supported at Learning Tree. Two weeks ago, she took the English test for the Walnut Unified School District, and the teacher was surprised by how good her handwriting was. I know this is because of the dedication of the teachers who have helped her grow. I want to end my review by sharing a picture she drew in class. It's hanging on our fridge. The drawing shows her teacher smiling as my daughter raises her hand to answer a question. It says, "I love to learn." This picture touches my heart deeply. As an educator myself, nurturing a lifelong love of learning is something I've always hoped to instill in my child. We've already signed her up for the after-school program, and we can't wait to see even more growth at Learning Tree!

Don't look any further!…read more I'm a Los Angeles parent who has a 15 yr old son in the 9th grade, who was having high levels of anxiety, feelings of failure, and a F (19% in Schoology) while enrolled in Honors Geometry. I had taken him to a few tutors in Los Angeles and spent a lot of money in attempt of finding a tutor that he was comfortable with. Since he was in the middle of the semester and wasn't getting any better a relative who was a former English teacher and West Covina resident recommended me to call PA College Prep. I then search YELP for the company and read the great reviews. I then went to their website to read more and to find their locations. At that point I realized they only had a location in Irvine and Glendora. I then had to decide how much I would have to sacrifice (time off from work, 45-1 hour drive, traffic, miles on car, gas, food and rest) to provide the best tutors for my son. So I decided to do a trial run and stop by to see the location, check the security features that protect students, and meet the PA College Prep team. Everyone was so nice, they had plenty of cameras, free parking, and they spoke to my son to reassure him that he could succeed and also build his confidence. After a trial run with a tutor my son walked out with a smile. And that smile said, I want to start tutoring ASAP. So I started sacrificing by taking him as much and as often as he wanted. His first test after starting was a C and that was a tremendous improvement from a F. Then his following test were more Cs, then Bs and then As. Then his shoulders became broader, he gain more confidence and he started to LOVE Geometry and ended the school year with 61 %, which averages to a high C/B-. From mid semester to now, was definitely a hard and long journey for him, but with great results all around. He also used a Tutor for his Spanish final that also helped him achieving a great score. Now he's ready to complete Spanish 3 in the summer so he can focus on other subjects during the 2019-2020 school year. And although it was difficult for him to get an A in Geometry, it was better for him to achieve all the other learning moments that will stay with him a lifetime. Now he knows he can accomplish any hard subject. I'm a truly ecstatic and grateful parent! If he needs a tutor anytime while in high school this will be the place I will take him. One thing I really appreciate is that they even reached out to her school teacher to get a clearer picture of where she was academically, so everyone is working together. Since starting, my daughter has grown so much. She actually enjoys writing now and is slowly building more interest and confidence in reading. They have always been so thoughtful, kind, patient, and genuinely caring toward our kids. Ms. Jin was actually one of my oldest son's former teachers and is now the director, which makes it even more special. One thing I will mention is that the structure and facility are a little different from a traditional classroom setting. It's much more open and the kids have opportunities to interact and socialize with one another throughout the school. I know that might not be everyone's preference, but I actually LOVED that about BSMA. I really think it contributed to how social and confident my kids became. My thought was always: they're going to spend Kinder through high school sitting in more traditional classrooms, so why not let their first educational experience be somewhere fun, creative, open, and different? Academically, I also feel BSMA gave my oldest such a strong foundation going into elementary school. He entered Kinder incredibly prepared, to the point where I sometimes feel like he isn't being challenged as much now because he already learned so much at BSMA! That really speaks to what a phenomenal job they did preparing him. Another thing I really appreciate is how well they keep parents updated through ClassDojo. Throughout the day, we get photos and detailed updates about what the kids are learning and doing, what they ate, restroom updates, and more. The teachers will often include lengthy descriptions explaining the activities and what the kids are learn/play, which I've always appreciated. You really get a glimpse into your child's day instead of just dropping them off and wondering what they did for the day! I'm so grateful that Bright Star Montessori Academy is where both of my boys got to begin their educational journeys. It will always hold such a special place in our family's heart. I was really sad for my oldest to move on from BSMA but glad my youngest is still there.

During my daughters last year Ms Pamela unfortunately retired and that's where Ms Ashley came in. She is the best! She's caring, sweet, funny! The kids love her!
