Giving 2 stars, because while they are EXTREMELY nice, they are very short staffed. If you have kids, you basically have to do appointments between 10 am - 2 PM, because they have no availability for like 8 weeks during after school or before school hours. So for working parents, you get crushed. Particularly if you have "an issue" - like a bracket comes off, you have to take off work. Hopefully they get it resolved, but I honestly wish we had chosen a different practice that was actually big enough to handle kids/parents schedules. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at TBraces Orthodontics during a consultation for my 8-year-old son. From the moment we arrived, we were met with a cold and unwelcoming attitude from the receptionist. She immediately demanded our insurance information, even though we had sent it via email the day before. Despite her snippy attitude, she eventually found the email after reviewing her inbox but still insisted that we couldn't see the doctor without confirming the insurance details first. After waiting in the reception area for what felt like at least 30 minutes, we were finally brought in--only to be told that they were going to take panoramic x-rays right away. I declined, explaining that we were there for a consultation about braces, not for unnecessary x-rays. The staff member seemed visibly irritated and sent us back to the waiting room. After waiting an additional 20 minutes, another staff member took us out of the office into the hallway and once again pushed for the x-rays, even though I had already declined. At that point, I'd had enough. The fact that they took us outside the office to discuss this made me feel like we were being kicked out, and we left. This practice seems more focused on unnecessary procedures than patient care or communication. I would not recommend TBraces Orthodontics based on our experience. read more

Dr. T has taken care of my sisters and my smiles for over a decade now. Can't recommend someone more highly. These comments about bad attitude seem targeted, since I've interacted w/ him dozens of times and never had even close to an inappropriate issue. Not to be dismissive of other peoples experiences; but can attest to his care/professionalism over a long period of time. He has taken it upon himself to not just give me great teeth but PERFECT teeth, now readjusting things (brackets, metal brackets, teeth gaps... etc) multiple times to make sure even the slightest tweet will be an improvement. read more

I've had the pleasure of experiencing Dr. Thariani's service and expertise for six months now and it has truly made a difference in my Invisalign experience. Due to several moves in different states across the country, I've been using Invisalign for over two years and have worked with three different orthodontists. I could comfortably say that the orthodontic office you choose to have Invisalign with MATTERS! My experience with Dr. T in the last six months has made significant changes to the alignment of my teeth and jaw in areas that should have been addressed with previous orthodontists. Dr. T has progressed me much more in six months than I have in two years. Special shoutout goes to Shiela (orthodontic assistant) for always taking care of prepping me and answering the plethora of questions and concerns I have. The minor details matter and Shiela does a great job of scanning and fitting my buttons to perfection. Outstanding customer service! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have several protocols in place to ensure the safety of the clients and staff and do a great job of enforcing them. (Masks at all times when not being actively worked on, specific number of clients at a time, etc.) So if you're looking for an orthodontist in the Northern Virginia area, I highly recommend working with Dr. Thariani and the team to solve whatever issues or concerns you have. read more

Dr. Thariani is an excellent orthodontist! Not only that he is very nice to the patients and their parents. He is patient and caring. I'll also add that he is a humanitarian and gives his time and resources to charitable events both locally and abroad. The staff is really great as well. To check in, you sign in to the computer. Adjustments are very quick appointments. Speaking of which, appointments run I'd say 95% on time. And I've never waited more than 10 mins past my appointment time. Overall the workflow is smooth and I had no confusion about payments, appointments, or treatments. read more

While the front desk staff was extremely nice ( I didn't get her name), the orthodontist made an inappropriate comment to my young child, that scared my daughter, making her cry in front of him. I was so excited for my appointment here. I waited over a month for my consult, but I'm patient, so I didn't really mind. After my consult I was told I would receive an email from the coordinator, and I ended up waiting for three weeks before I contacted them asking what was wrong. Turns out they forgot to get back to me. I was later told I would be receiving a call from Dr.Thariani to answer my questions. Never did. I give five stars to their medial services and zero star to their management, especially financial management. The financial lady is rude from day one and I did not realized that is the sign for a series of irresponsible acts. She does not work to ensure good communication and smooth financial transactions; the way she works just make you feel it is a rip off. Eventually, we got into a financial dispute due to her fault and she is the worst service person I have ever seen in the past five years. To make it worse, her supervisors including Dr. Thariani took a very passive role in resolving the issue. I ended up terminating my invisalign plan with them. I understand they are really really sweet to children but children do not need to deal with financials and in fact parents are willing to pay anything for their children's happiness now. For adults out there who are interested in having braces, we need to know that It turns out that financials are often a problem with orthodontists, so be prepared--I know, it is hard, because most of us do not have prior experience of wearing braces and that is why we are seeing a doctor now. You need to know exactly what you want, need, and have to go through before you walk into this clinic, otherwise you will be frustrated, especially financially. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Thariani's for about a year. I can honestly say, that I love my orthodontist. From the moment I walked into his office, he laid out two different treatment plans for me. One that was going to require surgery, and one that wasn't. He told me in a matter of fact, professional way that there was the right way to handle my situation, and then there was an "ok" way to handle it. The right way is to get the surgery on my jaw, which I had already been told by another orthodontist. Sometimes, it takes hearing something more than once to let it sink in. From the moment you check into your appointment, and the assistants take you back you feel as though you are their number one priority. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Dr. T and his staff. They are professional and courteous. I haven't had the same experience with the financial aspect of the business. In fact, when I came in, I signed an agreement, and I have been paying it monthly as agreed upon. Dr. T consistently gets great reviews in the Washingtonian Magazine and he's a great doctor who will listen to you questions, concerns, and work with you. I wish there was a 10-star option. Like so many people, I had braces when I was younger, failed to wear my retainer enough throughout my college years, and had shifted teeth again in my late 20's. Not wanting to go back to braces, I was on the search for the easiest Invisalign treatment that could fix the few minor issues with my teeth. I was hesitant at the time...but SO happy I did it. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Thariani and his entire staff. They are beyond nice and welcoming, extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. I was sad when I had my last appointment because I enjoyed going there (yes, I actually enjoyed going to a doctor's office to get my teeth looked at - that is how nice they are). i completed my treatment over a year ago and am pleased with the results. However I went back for my one year follow up visit and was charged for an office visit. As stated in the contract I signed this was appropriate for what I signed up for but to charge for a visit that lasted approx. 3 minutes? Also watch out for what I consider to be over inflated prices if you should ever need a replacement retainer post treatment. As more and more dentists start doing invisalign and there are other options via the internet for molds and retainers, etc. there may be better price options worth exploring read more

Dr. Thariani loves his job. He's kind and supportive to his staff. Both these characteristics come out in full force when it comes to the quality of care and expertise the office provides. I've had Invisalign for about a year and it's going great. I had a complicated situation with gum recession and an infected tooth that had to be removed and he worked with the periodontist to create a long term plan (my Invisalign has a painted in spot where my tooth is missing). Once my teeth are straight the implant will go in. I am also one who gets severe anxiety when I sit in a dentist's chair but I don't feel a bit of it when I goto Dr. Thariani - and he even had to shave my teeth a bit the other day. They use state of the art equipment, the Dr. and staff are incredibly skilled, the staff and billing depts are hugely accommodating and will work with you on whatever. I lost my job in the middle of treatment and Mindy in billing has been wonderful in setting up a doable payment plan. I can't give them a higher recommendation!! If my daughter ever needs treatment I know who she'll go to. read more
