I had my first visit with Dr. Urteaga today as a new patient, and it was a great experience from start to finish. He began by going through my medical history with me and then carefully reviewed my dental x-rays and tooth imaging, making sure I understood what he was seeing. Throughout the appointment he was polite, professional, and also really friendly and easy to chat with--we built a good rapport right away, which helped me feel comfortable in the chair. The cleaning itself went very well, and I left feeling like my teeth had been thoroughly taken care of. The front office staff were also pleasant and efficient, and they quickly scheduled me for a follow-up appointment before I left. The rave reviews are real. When it comes to dental work, I'm very hesitant in who I give my reviews to as quality of care, results, and customer service is extremely important but results can vary as every case is very different. I had chipped my front tooth due to poor bonding from my former dentist. It had chipped about three times in about four months with no real solution other than to either slap on new bonding or shave my teeth down. I called Dental Devotion and they were so kind and considerate of my situation. They were able to squeeze me in the next morning. From the women in the front office, to the dental assistant, and to the dentist, my experience was top notch. They explained what was happening, how they were going to fix it, and asked for my approval every step of the way. Like many reviews have mentioned, they treated me like a human and didn't try to force anything on me aside from what I wanted fixed. The only negative is that their parking is a garage and they only validate for an hour so if you have a longer procedure, you will be paying $$. I stayed about 70 minutes and the parking was $4 with validation. I still would recommend this practice to anyone as they are honest and provide quality work/service. read more

I just switched to Dental Devotion and after my first experience with them, I understand why they have 5 stars. Every part of the process, from transferring my records, to checking in, and (most importantly) the actual dental work, was painless. I had to replace two fillings and the experience was surprisingly quick and they were great about communicating throughout (without asking me a bunch of questions that are hard to answer with a mouth full of fingers, tools, cotton, etc). Getting a filling is never a pleasant ordeal, but this was the least stressful, least painful, and most comfortable experience I've had with it. Additionally, the doctors are honest and won't try to sell you unnecessary services or procedures (e.g., invisalign). DENTAL DEVOTION TREATS YOU LIKE A PATIENT, NOT AN ATM MACHINE. My old dentist tried to scare me into doing tens of thousands of dollars in dental work by saying that I was going to lose my teeth and have serious health complications if I didn't do what they recommended. They would then march you up to the front desk to schedule an appointment to get it done. This is why you get a second opinion! The doctors at Dental Devotion not only disagreed with the recommendations of my old dentist, but they were a bit shocked by them because, according to them, my teeth are in great condition and the procedures my old dentist was recommending were more likely to cause additional problems than provide any real benefits. That in and of itself is enough to make me come back here for a long time. Everything about my experience gave me absolute confidence in them because (I know it sounds cheesy) they showed me they care about me and my wellbeing. Best filling procedure yet! They are up to date with the latest procedures, materials and patient comfort details. Everything was explained, and comfort was checked numerous times. To distract you, they have a tv with Netflix and headset to listen. (Tip: determine your column before the drilling starts any then bump it up three more steps. You will know why when the drilling starts). (Tip 2, arrive with a Netflix show in mind that is mainly about the dialogue and sound. Although they go to great lengths to position the TV near and over you, it is pretty much blocked when work starts.) The exam light is nicely very narrow and does not shin into your eyes, just your mouth. They take three steps to numb you up. No pain from the needle was ever felt! Easy-peasy you are done and get a nice stick of chapstick that they used on you to keep the lips from drying out. Note: They keep the front office door locked. So as soon as you get out of the elevator, be ready to read two detailed pages of info and phone them to be let it. read more

Wow! They are amazing. AMAZING. I have never been treated so well at a dental office. I am a last minute booker so I called on Thursday and got in the same day for an exam. I NEED my wisdom teeth out. (I have a bunch of PTO that I need to use and wanted to get it done). Parking was a breeze, they validated parking for the garage. They had me call when I got there. They checked my temp, hand sanitizer, and all the COVID-19 questions. Felt super safe. After that DR came in checked my teeth and gave me the run down for my procedure. I got schedule for Monday. I went in and had my teeth pulled. I was under local anesthesia (aka I was awake for it all). And it DID NOT HURT. Both DR and his assistant made sure I was comfortable. He walked me through every step. Told me exactly what he was going to do and when. He even had a few tricks to help get me numb. They worked on the hardest tooth first, then the rest. At one point, DR leaned back, I asked him if my tooth was out. And he said yes. I said "What the Hell? That's awesome!" 100% will be back. Thank you Dental Devotion Team. Hi- Everything went fine, up until I had to pay! The procedure I had done (two fillings) was probably one of the best treatments I had in the dentist office. I was nervous coming in but the doctor made me feel at ease as she made sure I could not feel any pressure and if I did, she made to give me more numb. After, the procedure was done, I felt great :) Now, as I was leaving to go pay, a couple weeks before my appointment, the receptionist to told me I would be paying one amount, when I went this particular day, I had to pay 50$ more. It makes me a little upset because what if I only took the amount out of my account that the previous receptionist told me. I'm TERRIFIED of dentists. To this date, I still remember a visit in elementary school, where a dentist forcefully pulled out my molar. So when I got a cavity, I did what any insurance-less 20-somethings would do, I left it alone and ignored it. I kept on ignoring it as once a small cavity got bigger and darker, and ultimately became a hole staring at me every time I brushed or flossed. Foolishly, I told myself, "hey, I could still chew on the other side, I can endure some tooth sensitivity, but seriously I can't go to a dentist." Until one day, I finally lost it. I'm talking about crying-in-public-because-of-pain, lost it. After some intense Googling/Yelping/ZocDocing I found Dental Devotion. Unfortunately, it appeared to be completely booked online, so I gave a call. After describing my condition, the receptionist was able to squeeze me in the very NEXT DAY with Dr. Mo. First Appointment: I walked in the office, and within minutes was called back. I sat down on the chair - still terrified - and waited for a scary looking dentist. Instead, Dr. Mo walked in! She asked what was going on, listened attentively (she actually listened, not just a few nods followed by "let's take a look"), and even apologized that I was feeling so much pain! She was so compassionate, and I for the first time, I felt relaxed. Unfortunately, I had waited for too long and had to get a root canal so I needed a second appointment :( Second Appointment: They were able to schedule me the very next week. Thank goodness, since even with the medicine, I was in so much pain. Again, as soon as I checked in, I was promptly called in. Dr. Mo was once again amazing. She asked if I wanted to watch some Netflix to distract myself, and she even gave me noise-cancelling headphones to block out the drilling sound. Unfortunately, my condition was too severe, and I had to be referred to an endodontist. But even then, Dr. Mo took time to refer me to the specialist who accepted my insurance plan. How thoughtful and considerate is that?! Third Appointment: The endodontist was fine, she was nowhere as nice and compassionate as Dr. Mo, but got the job done. When I came back to Dental Devotion for the crown, I was seen by Dr. Urtega this time. Honestly, that put me in a few seconds of panic, since I was comfortable with Dr. Mo, and was scared to see anyone else. But Dr. Urtega was just as wonderful as Dr. Mo! He put a temporary crown on, so I could eat and function as normal human while waiting for the real crown. Fourth Appointment: The crown finally came in. I was in/out within 15 minutes, but even in that 15 minutes, Dr. Urtega was so kind. My cavity situation evolved into a long, wild saga, but like all stories, it had a happy ending. I was able to overcome my fears of dentist and found a life-long doctor-patient relationship. So if you're like me, terrified of dentists and in need of bringing a stuffed animal with you to the appointment, don't be scared. Dr. Mo and Dr. Urtega are so sweet and caring, and they'll take a wonderful care of you. TLDR: If you're terrified of dentists, go see Dr. Mo or Dr. Urtega. I went in to see Dr. Urteaga on a referral for three fillings and it was the most traumatic dental visit I can ever remember. From the unbelievably painful administration of the Novocain, to squirting Novocain into the back of my mouth by accident making me gag, to the excessive removal of tooth and roughness in filling my cavity, I was crying the entirety of the visit and for hours after (and I'm not usually a cryer). I was supposed to get three fillings and called a stop to the torture after two. A month and a half later, my one tooth is still sensitive from the work he did. In contrast, I went to a new dentist to have the third filling done, still crying as I recounted my Dental Devotion visit details, and he was able to fill my third cavity with zero pain and in half the time. Completely opposite experience. A fancy office, nice smelling soap, and massaging chairs can't fix the trauma I experienced that day. read more

I can not recommend Dental Devotion enough. This place is absolutely wonderful. I had quite a few issues (from a prior dentist who was terrible) and Dental Devotion made a terrible situation as smooth and painless as possible. They helped me manage costs using my insurance, were willing to meet me before they opened when I had issues, and were thorough in their work. In addition, they are conservative about cavities and are very honest about what needs to be done and what can be a "wait and watch." They are transparent during every appointment and, therefore, I trust them very much. Finally, their office is lovely, clean and high tech. I've come to this office two times now for x-rays, general cleanings, inspection, etc. Front desk staff are very kind and the check-in process is efficient (pre-Covid and post-Covid). The dental hygienists and both dentists are very friendly and competent. No cuts in my mouth, which is always a plus! They care about patient education and answering patient's questions. This is going to sound very odd but I've never had so much fun going to the dentist before. One of the best practices I've ever been to and I'm so happy to have discovered them! I've worked with both Dr. Mo and Dr. Urtega and they're both sweet and caring. I've been their patient for a little over a year now and it feels like we're family. Unlike other practices I've been to, Dr. Mo and Dr. Urtega both take the time to really make sure your experience is as comfortable and painless as possible, explaining everything they're doing and answering any questions you might have and are right by your side until the very end; and along the way are laughs and giggles. The rest of the staff are also very friendly and everyone has a great sense of humor. In my long years of going to the dentist, Dental Devotion is BY FAR the best place I have ever gone to. Dr. Movaghari and Dr. Urtega are serious the nicest people you'll ever meet. They go above and beyond making you feel comfortable, safe and most of all, satisfied with your dental care. They really devote their time and effort to YOU. Their office is top notch with the latest technology, supplies, even all of their exam chairs all have massage capability. Its a brand new office, clean, beautiful and it makes you say "this is definitely the place I'd want my teeth worked on. On top of all of that, they're just awesome dentists! They know the ins and outs of your teeth and do what is in the best interest of you and your teeth so you can get that beautiful smile that's gonna get you invited up for a netflix and chill session. Another thing that is great is that their office is open on Saturday, which allows for those who's job schedule may not be as flexible to come and get their teeth worked on. I highly recommend this office to anyone in the arlington or adjacent areas. They have a parking garage, which makes it way easy to access their office (which can be hard in arlington), right down the street from the metro (if that's your choice of transportation) and near the ballston bus stop.
