My teeth after being cleaned right in Clarksville, TN.

I have always liked going to the dentist until I went to this clinic. This is THE WORST dental clinical I have ever been to in my life and I continued to go there for about four years because I thought I was the problem. Though, I really did know that they were the problem. I thought my teeth were just getting older and it was my destiny to have to transition to more fillings, crowns and even root canals soon. I thought my teeth were just naturally staining and that it was all irreversibile. I still have a lot built-up trauma because of this clinic. One time, the person putting my crown on dropped it in my mouth and I choked on it before swallowing it. I wish I was kidding. But then I moved to Clarksville, TN, and the clinic I go to here is the polar opposite. My hygienist was so thorough and so gentle and actually cleaned my teeth today like they haven't been cleaned in SO long! I thought there was something genetically wrong with me for so long, but really, I just went to a terrible dental clinic. The hygienist in Clarksville, TN, made my smile sparkle again (see photo below)! Also, Apex Dental was ALWAYS trying to make me get work done so they can get more money, and it's SAD that money is more important than your one set of teeth. I'm not even sure if the two crowns I got were ever needed at this point. The last time I was there in June, they tried to tell me I needed a root canal. I don't. They also tried to get me to get Botox for TMJ. This new clinic told me my teeth looked great and that I didn't have any cavities...And I believe them! I am so grateful the nightmare of Apex Dental is over. Don't go here. It's the worst.

First implants done right by Dr. Aleman-Cordero who doesnt work at apex anymore!! I wouldnt do it with any other dr's!!

Friendly atmosphere and good service. Proactive about identifying potential problems that could become major issues if left untreated.

She has really went above and beyond with professionalism and customer service as a new client. Upon arrival, make sure you are at the right side of the building , you have to pass the first lobby and then you will see the dental sign. The office was very clean, high end technology and everyone who worked there was friendly. There was no wait upon check in (which is almost rare with any doctors office), my hygienist was friendly and knowledgeable! &&& *drumroll* , the dentist came in right as I finished also with no wait. Dr. Kim presented with great bedside manner. He was personable , professional , very honest in answering questions pertaining to other procedures without a "pushy must do" attitude and I was definitely in and out in under an hour. And yes, for those who care, you do get dental goodie bags! I'm glad I was able to get in as a new client and even booked my next 2 appointments for next year due to a last minute cancellation . Highly recommend

Dr. Hassan is exceedingly good. The dental hygienist who attends to me, Sammie (or maybe Sammy), is exceedingly good. Both are excellent communicators and handle their instruments and my teeth with competence and care. The staff managing the checkins and checkouts are always a pleasure to work with. In person and on the phone. Stephanie is particularly fun to talk with. Everyone's time management is excellent. I have been fortunate to have insurance that keeps my out-of-pocket expenses very low, so I've had no billing issues. The office is clean, well lit, and olfactorily stable. I am happy that I chose Virginia Dental Center.

It's really rare to experience an office where all staff members are kind, helpful, and friendly, but that is this office. From the admin person to the front desk staff to the hygienists to the dentist herself, this is an office that truly cares for the kids and their families. All the staff are all positive and supportive. The office is very clean and conducive to kids, with tvs in the ceiling, toys in the waiting room, and kids decor throughout. There is a dry erase board where each kids name is written to welcome them, a very nice touch. Each kid gets a goody bag at the end and a token which can be used on the toy vending machines in the lobby. This is a HUGE hit with the kids! They usually get little jewelry trinkets or toys that they get excited about. One time the staff gave them balloons which was sweet. The dentist herself is very kind and gentle and thorough with the kids. She'll take time to answer questions and explain things. The same go for all the hygienists here. I always get a good vibe when coming to my kids dental appointment!

Just this month, she has decided to drop Metlife. This appears to be a pattern -- a pattern of dropping some of the more common insurance carriers. I do not know for how long it has been going on, but it causes chaos and unpredictability around a part of a young child's life that is already scary and confusing. This is arrogant and, and it sends a perhaps unintentional signal that her team possibly care only about the wealthiest members of the Arlington community who can afford to bear the burden of this unpredictability. It forces busy families to scramble to find a new dentist for their child -- and I fear it can cause harm to children who develop a bond of trust with one building and staff to be migrated to another. So, pray tell, how do Metlife families at your practice explain this to their 3 and 4 year olds? If you don't belong to an extremely high-earning two family household, Dr. Flanagan's practice is not for you. You cannot predict from one year to the next if you can afford for your child to be seen at this practice.

As of 2025 they will no longer take the military insurance. There's parking and she offers early morning appointments (7am). The appointments were ok, there's not much to say when you just get a cleaning and there's no dental issues. The hygienist goes pretty hard and even chipped the top of one of my front teeth. She told me I could have an orthodontist smooth it out. They charge an additional $50 out of pocket for fluoride. I sent my previous scans multiple times and they said they didn't receive them. When she did see my scan, I was referred to someone to get a second opinion on something she saw. Almost $500 later I find out it's just my sinus cavity. I know, better safe than sorry and can't fault her for doing her job. My final straw was getting charged a late cancellation fee. They require 48 hours notice which can be really hard if you're not sick 48 hours in advance and the day before your appointment is a weekend or holiday as was my case. I called the morning of and left a voicemail that I was sick; instead I went to urgent care and was diagnosed with strep throat and an ear infection. They did not receive this voicemail in time because the receptionist was also out sick. I was charged the fee 6 weeks later and when I called to see if they make medical exceptions I was told absolutely not because they have already written off too much from *all of us* because our insurance doesn't pay well. As a professional I can understand some of this, I know it's frustrating when people late cancel/no show or an insurance doesn't pay well. However, I always make exceptions for medical and other things that are truly out of their control. They are right to stop taking our insurance, it's not good when you start to resent your customers. Take away: -No matter how sick you are, if you want to avoid a fee, go to the appointment -Go if you know your dental insurance pays well or you plan to pay out of pocket -Insurance companies are the worst and need to raise their rates across the board
