Horrible experience. I just moved here from Fremont so decided to get a haircut here. I had really long hair and asked for a trim with some long layers, the lady cut off half my hair and didn't give me any layers. She also didn't straighten my hair properly, there were still some curls at my roots. Once I got home and looked in the mirror, I found out my hair was extremely uneven and shorter at some spots in the under layer. It was ridiculously expensive for what I got. read more

It's a hard no for me unfortunately. I was hoping to find someone to stick to to do my hair but I was not happy with the results. After reading all the positive reviews I thought I'd give it a go but I wish I didn't. I just think Taylor takes on too many clients at once and rushes thru the process for clients ending up in a mess. It's like every time someone walked in and asked for service she said yes to them even though there is not enough people working there. So I got recommended by a good friend of mine who also gets her hair done here. At first I was really nervous and scared cause I haven't gotten my hair done in so long. I did a walk in to get highlights, they sat me down and asked what I wanted so I showed them a picture. It was like a 3 hour process but Taylor and the rest of the staff did really well in checking on me. After they washed off the bleach, Taylor went in and touched up whatever needed to get touched up. I also got a haircut and asked the other lady if she could curl my hair. Overall, I had a really good experience and for the price, you can't beat that! I've been here twice and both good experiences so why not a third? They had availability for me which was great, I didn't wait long at all. However, unfortunately it wasn't the same hairdresser. This one, I should've known once the dye accidentally flung on to my chest (with the cover on) this was the start, then while rinsing my hair, there's water carelessly being splattered on my face without trying to be careful, I added the hot oil treatment and I asked how long she said, "20 min", however she's working on someone else and I sat under the dryer for 30. Then, we're at the bowl, she carelessly pulls off the plastic hair cover and it gets caught on my cartilage diamond earring and it comes off. She grabs what I know wasn't mine from the garbage and says, "it's not here." I'm pretty livid at this point and a little persistent with looking more, she then finds the backing near the sink, looks in to the drain catcher and my earring appeared. It's time to pay and I'm being forced to pull out cash from their hidden ATM in the back. Lady tells me that they will pay for my fee. So they took off $5 the services. While I'm paying (it's almost closing time) the owners have their wads of cash in hand counting so I'm thinking, "trying to avoid taxes?!" So unfortunately although I was willing to return after this appointment, I won't be. read more

Took me right in with no wait. Came in because they did Brazilian Blowouts and it sounded like the right thing to help deal with a bad perm (by another place in town unfortunately). Not so sure how I like this place. They do a good job cutting but somehow convinced me to dye my hair. I already had highlights and they said they would just touch up my roots but when I came out of there my hair was jet black!!!! I even showed them a picture of what I liked...it looks nothing like it! My hair is black but I came in with a nice caramel color. So, don't let them convince you to do anything or add any services to your tab. I was just desperate to get my hair done and fast. Now, I have to go somewhere else to get my hair fixed bc I don't trust that they'll do a good job. Guess you get what you pay for. On a positive note, they are all really nice and kind in there. When I lived in Tracy I searched around for a good Hair salon to give me the best crew cut. A crew cut sounds simple but I think it's one of the harder hair cuts to give because of the blending and fading needed to make me look good. I found Taylor who owns Taylor salon. She's a pro at cutting mens hair. I can't talk for women but for mens hair cuts she's great. For a few bucks more you can your eye brows hot waxed. Was here yesterday for a much needed cut. Moved out here about 2.5 months ago and I haven't been able to find a hair salon that is affordable and decent in this area. My son decided to try out a neighboring barber shop so I went out on a limb and said "I better do it now or I won't do it all.." I was seated immediately after entering and the lady asked what I wanted. I showed her a pic and said "a LONG A-line bob pls, just like this. Not too short". She said "ok." Everything was fine till she brought out the clippers. So, I knew it was short. Ugh, not what I wanted but it was too late now. Then she continued. I pointed to one side because I noticed it was longer than the other side. She said "yeah, I noticed that. I trim for you." She trimmed a little and was done. I looked at it. It was nice, but too short for my liking aannnd the other side was still a little longer. I tried to tell her but she insisted it wasn't. Anyway, I didn't want to argue. But was only charged $18. Not bad. But I think I'd prefer to pay more to get EXACTLY what I want. I gave her 3 stars because she was nice, she was fast and I was out of there in 30 min. Usually, I would say it's a 3-4 star haircut. But I don't know if I don't speak English clearly or they aren't understanding me. I said I don't want to cut a lot off the top. LESS than 1cm.... Tony is my go to guy. He does awesome fades for guys and knows what I want everytime I go in. Triple zero faded straight up. He's got good clippers that bald the sides of my head the way I like it. I stopped going to the other Asian barbers/haircutting places because they don't have the right clippers! It's not that difficult to get good clippers for mens fades. It's too bad though because I was fond of going to Hairkutz on Tracy blvd, but they're still using old clippers that don't fade as short as I want it. On top of that, they close super early, the parking lot is a disaster due to the Indian population, the giant Indian grocery store, Indian restaurants, small Indian shops and are closed on Sundays. Tracy needs to change that plazas name to SUPER INDIAN PLAZA. No joke. They ding your car doors all the time and walk around in the parking lot like it's their living room. Very unpleasant plaza. I used to have to go in every week just to keep my hair short, high and tight, but with this place, he's using the shortest clippers possible and it makes a huge difference. My hair grows fast so he knows to bald the sides roughly so I can come every other week, saving me money. Great and friendly guy and he's fast! So if all you want is your haircut fast and faded in a hurry, I'd go to Tony. If you like talking a lot while getting your haircut, then PLEASE go to Hairkutz and let the other guys here get theirs so they can leave happy. Men get frustrated waiting, are in a hurry and nobody wants or cares to hear your life story about how you're from the Bay area. FYI: Don't let the women cut your hair if your a man! I promise you they'll mess it up and you won't be happy. This place is mainly for women who take their sweet time and have nothing better to do, so men beware. I'm glad Tony's there though, if it weren't for him I would not be going here. Overall a fast and friendly experience with Tony here forv only $18.00 a cut. This review is only for Tony.
