I've been coming to Taylor Salon since I was a little girl, and I've seen Taylor Vo and Co. do it all! From children's haircuts, to adolescent coloring and highlights, to spontaneous 12+ inch chops to bobs, to bleaching from black to blonde, Taylor has done nothing but improve over time. I have to admit that she has not disappointed me in my 20-or-so years of coming to her shop. Nice and sanitary as the workers are all Barbicide (Salon Sanitation) certified for covid-19 (they have their completion certificates posted throughout the salon). Friendly, welcoming environment, and Taylor knows her regulars well! I come here not only for promising results, but reasonable pricing and for the family-like company. So disappointed! I came here because there are so many great reviews here. I made an appointment for this morning at opening. I get there on time and the owners did not show up until 10:10 and they parked and remained in the fire lane. I understand running late, I have those days, too and I was not in a rush anyway. But it continues... The place was decent looking but seemed messy and dirty. There were seven people in front of me and then the man checks to see if anyone has appointments. Three of us did. We got seated and the woman puts the neck cover over us WITHOUT one of the tissue paper neck protectant things first and buttons it so tightly. Then another employee walks in. She comes to me and puts the paper around my neck and fixes the cover. I tell her I want a trim, keep the layers long, and I want a V-shape. I even showed her a picture of my hair from when I used to have it in a V-shape. She begins cutting and maybe a few minutes in, another woman walks up to us to tell her that she's here and is ready for her color. My hairdresser was excited to see her and said she'll be with her in a few. She totally rushed my hair it seemed and maybe that was the reason! I was done in under 10 minutes and I have a lot of hair. Before finishing, she begun straightening my hair for less than a minute but then says "too oily, can't do." I told her I'd just washed it last night and put BioSilk product in my hair and it's likely that. She still said "can't do." Many reviews on here said they style after a cut so this was disappointing. When done, she did not even give me a hand-mirror so I can look at the back. I thought oh well and I went to the front where the sign says "women's haircuts: $25 and up." I was charged $30 which I understand I asked for a "style" in the v-shape. But she didn't style my hair with the straightener, rushed, AND I get home to look and my hair is NOT in a v-shape and it's soooooo uneven. Needless to say I will not be going back. Again, I understand having those days of running late, having many people in line so trying to move fast, but it just did not feel welcoming and was not done well ): I always think it's just hair and it'll grow back. I don't think I'll even go back for them to "offer to fix" because I paid cash, was not offered a receipt, and just have no interest experiencing that again. $30 plus I still tipped the lady $4. I'm usually so firm on giving 20% as a tip when service is excellent. But $34 I paid today for a "choppy job?" I'll ask my sister to try to make it even. read more

My family has been coming here since I was little for our hair cuts, and Taylor and everyone at the salon has always done a great job and offered us great recommendations for hair care and products! Today was my first time getting my hair colored here and I wish I had come in sooner! I came in around 11 on a Saturday morning, was seated almost immediately, and I showed Taylor a few pictures of what I wanted before we started. She took her time (in a good way) to ensure the color was developing right, compared to a lot of other salons I've been to that seem to rush the process. Overall she did a fantastic job! (Plus the lowkey head massages when I got my hair washed was the icing on the cake.) Asked one of the ladies for a haircut and specifically told her not to cut my beard and she left a noticeably huge gash on my cheek. The worse part was she kept denying that she cut it, so it was clear to me she wasn't paying attention or even listening. read more

I had the pleasure of having my hair colored, highlights and Keratin treatment by Taylor and although it did take about 3-4 hours it turned out to be all worth it and I was extremely happy with the outcome. I am just shocked... Came in to get my hair done and got this old lady doing my hair coughing call over my face without even covering her mouth. She had to sit down a couple times to catch her breath! It's just unbelievable that you are this inconsiderate of your own customers. I have been going to Taylor's salon for years now. There are so many things that I like about this place. -You don't have to make an appointment. You just walk in. No worrying about being charged a cancellation fee. There may be a wait depending on the day, weekends may be busier, but they'll get you in quickly or let you know in advance if there is a wait. -All the women there do a great job. They've worked there for years and have a lot of experience with men, women and kids. I've had my hair done by 3 of them which included a cut, color and highlights. -They know your name and you feel like family. -The prices are right. A late review for the visit I had last Saturday, May 21, 2022. The owner Ricky was accommodating given that my sister and I were coming from out of town. I found the place from Yelp with decent reviews. Linda, was the person who tended with my hair. Both my sister and I had color and cut. And the difference was the length of our hair; as well as eyebrows and lip waxed. She was forthright about the prices except the card service charge of $6.53. It was unfortunate that the establishment didn't accept Amex Card. One thing that I questioned was after the wash, she flat ironed my hair section by section and cut it . I personally don't flat iron my straight hair. Also, I thought the curling iron was too hot, because there were smoke coming out of it. I told her the flat iron was too hot. Her explanation was that the flat iron has oil that causes it to smoke. I just never had a flat iron -cut combination. At the end, the color was decent, but my hair feels fried. As far as my sister's experience it was fine. As for me, I would think twice to going back and if I do I will go without the curling iron- haircut the way Linda did my hair. Either cut my hair while it's dry or while my hair is wet. Bottom line is I miss my fine hair. I now feel fried stringy hair. I do hope my fine hair will grow back. Never going back AGAIN!!! They're terrible. I went in for a trim and to get whispy bangs but they messed it up COMPLETELY. At first they seemed like they didn't know what they were doing but I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. I SHOULD HAVE WALKED OUT WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE!!!! They didn't even part my hair when they cut it so it's uneven. As for the bangs, they asked if the amount was good and when I asked for less hair to be cut, THEY JUST STARTED CUTTING. Not only that!! Recently moved to Tracy from SF & my cousin recommended I go see Taylor to get my hair done. I'm always hesitant to not only see a new stylist but to also bleach my hair. I've had the worst experiences. However, Taylor worked her magic! I walked in with an auburn box dye color hair disaster & left with this beautiful balayage! I showed her a picture of what I was aiming for & she advised me that due to the damage & dryness of my hair that my hair would just break off if we attempted to get close to platinum. I really appreciated her honesty & asked her if we'd still be able to lighten it. She delivered! It turned out lighter than I expected, my hair didn't break off like crazy & I absolutely LOVE it! Taylor is a verrry rude unpatient and a unhappy person. She has an attitude and can't handle kids haircut at all. My son was on my lap and prettty calm. She put a cape on him but not on me and started cutting his hair all over me then she says OOH I FORGOT TO PUT A CAPE ON YOU TOO. Then she puts a cape around me and my son pulled his off while trying to put it back she continues cutting his hair and made his clothes all hairy too. Then she legit bumps her hand into my face and does not apologize.... She keeps cutting although my son has hair in his eye and when he rubbed his eyes with the cape on a huge chunk went into his mouth and he starting gagging and crying and she continues cutting his hair and at this point I am telling her I need to rins his mouth off and she says Oh u dont want a trim? What type of person is that? Who cant even put a simple cape on and put a smile on and make a baby feel comfortable? Is it so hard to give a break and make sure we are okay? Someone who has been to her and reads this u must know what I am talking about.... Her facial impressions are 0! No smile, nothing! On that Note I went to her before and shouldn't have given her another chance. The first time she cut my babies neck when he was little with her big trimmer she realllyyy needed to use cuz mine was weak, when i brought a brand new baby trimmer that has less vibration for a babys head! Since we moved to Tracy, Taylor Salon is now my go-to salon. I love how they massage my scalp as they wash my hair.
