This place does a great job from booking to checking in and getting into a chair for a fresh cut. I was in town for a conference and needed a fresh cut/beard shape up bad (I was looking vagabondish) so I booked the night before I flew in. The young gun Caruso took care of me and left me looking crisp. Tight fade skills, scissor work, and straight razor game were all on display. So if you need a fresh cut and want to elevate the barber shop experience. Book with these folks read more

For the price, the service was nearly great clips quality. Either save your money or go to a salon to get actual professionals.

I've gone to this T&C for about two years now (first appointment was August/2021). Since this is one of those "they employer the barbers" places rather than "the barbers own the place" situations, barbers have changed over time. So has the quality and excellence of service. My first appt, two years ago, was gifted by my spouse for my birthday. It was the $60 deluxe. I'd guess it was an hour of haircut, pampering, facial treatment, straight razor trim, etc. Really really wonderful. That barber was also the barber I had the next time, and that was great. Then she left. In the two years that have ensued, the quality of care and the degree of effort feel like they've steadily decreased. My first two visits were Special. Now it feels like going to a Supercuts. Well, two years later, I just came back from my latest T&C appointment, still getting the $60 "Haircut, beard trim with straight razor line up." These days I'm no longer bearded but this morning decided to not get a shave so I could get the full experience. If there's one thing you should pretty much be able to count on, it's that a package description that refers to a straight razor will include the use of a straight razor. The whole thing was about 20-25 minutes. In that whole time, a straight razor didn't get within a foot of my head. He did 'shave' me ... using a standard electric foil shaver. For what I got, I could -- should -- have spent a lot less than $60. I think it's time to move on and find another, more traditional, barber -- or go to the other end of the spectrum and actually go to a Nice[tm] haircutting place. This is sort of the worst of all worlds. read more

Walked in on Tuesday at noon for a haircut. A guy at the front helped me out instantly to get a haircut. Service was friendly and I am satisfied with my hairstyle. However, I feel like it took quite a time to cut my hair so I almost fell asleep. Other than that, I am satisfied with this place. read more

Sent my groom and groomsmen here to pamper them before the wedding. They all left with razor burn, cuts on the head and even the cheek! 24 hours later, one groomsman is even developing large red bumps from the haircut. This was a very expensive mistake. I called the shop today, 24 hours later, the stylist who answered did not seem to care, be apologetic or even help remedy the situation. In face, she told me this type of razor burn and getting cuts is normal!!! These men left bleeding! This was a very experience mistake. Do not make this mistake! read more

WORST HAIRCUT OF MY LIFE!!!!! Went to get a trim and showed the barber multiple pictures of my previous haircut and asked for it to be a little shorter in the back but otherwise the same. I told him I have curly hair so it looks longer wet and it's a little different from normal hair. HE CUT IT ALMOST ALL OFF. This is the WORST haircut of my life. My hair has not been this short is over a decade and it will take months to grow back. He then got mad at me because I was not talking to him but he cut my hair with my back to the mirror. The many inches he cut off is not even at all and part of my hair are randomly longer than others. I should have never come to this shop. Massively regret my decision to come here read more

I highly recommend Taylor and Colt! I have been looking for a good barber ever since moving to Ann Arbor several months ago. Scheduling an appointment is super easy and everyone there is very friendly and professional. I highly recommend Shelby in particular! Shelby really listens to what you are looking for and gives you a fantastic haircut in record time. If you are looking for a great haircut and conversation go to Taylor and Colt! read more

Walked in on a Thursday morning for a beard trim. I sat at the counter by the window for a short time while I waited. It's an interesting space that feels more like a bar or a coffee shop. Shelby did a great job on my beard, quick and clean. I was in and out within about thirty minutes. read more

Walked in on a Monday afternoon and was able to get in a chair within a few minutes. Got a great cut from Kyle who clearly pays close attention to detail. $35 cut included a hot lather neck shave and shampoo with a warm towel on the face. Very chill down to earth shop playing solid selection of music. Most barbers were younger tattooed dudes, devoid of the typical bro talk about cheating on wives was refreshing. Felt comfortable and would definitely return! Well worth the $$$ read more

I showed the barber (Leah) the reference pictures below and received something completely different. When booking my appointment I asked for their best barber because I have an important function this weekend. Now I have an awful haircut and extreme embarrassment every time I leave the house. In what world are those pictures at all similar. I will never be returning to Taylor and colt barbershop. This is a mockery. read more

Exactly what you would expect. Clean, modern barber shop with 10+ people rotating. They offer the typical beard, coloring, and shave. Beforehand, they offer coffee/water and have a bar seating area to chill beforehand. Would definitely recommend making an appointment as it does get randomly busy. Griffin always does me good. I'm very picky and judge barbers by their attention to detail. He left clean lines in the front and back and spent 15 mins shaping and feathering. Solid cut and better time. read more

Ok, this is my very first review on Yelp and sadly it's gonna be a negative one. I got a haircut from Luke and I asked for a very short fade... which he delivered, very poorly, especially on the back. Before the cut, I specifically told him that my bone is a little sticking out on the back of my head. Before I finished talking, he assured me that it's ok and he can handle it. The result is... this uneven mess. The fade line is not gradual nor straight. Also as you can see in the pic, there's literally no transition from the 0 length at the bottom to the top... it's a very sudden and uneven fade. Btw eyebrow wax was pretty decent that's way I'm giving 2 stars. read more

This place is the best barbershop i have ever been to. Very professional hairstylists with great experience. Their service is really good and they treat you very well. Sadly i was in Michigan for a couple of weeks but if i come back i'll surely visit them again!! read more

Great overall experience and I'm very satisfied with cut I received from Emily. Yes, it is a bit on the pricey side and some may argue that better deals can be found elsewhere but I'm completely satisfied. Booking an appointment was extremely simple and done through their website. I was expecting there to be more people but it was a long weekend and the area was emptier than usual. read more

A great place to get your haircut and beard trimmed! Little pricey but it's worth it!

Unfortunately had booked an appointment here for boyfriend and they completely ruined his under cut, it's so high now and obviously nothing can fix it. I was really hoping to find someone great here due to the location to alleviate the stress of me doing his hair since i spend all day on my own salon. Something worth noting is that none of the stylists that day were not up kept with their own hair cuts. No-one had their hair done, and needless to say I'll be doing his hair cuts from now on and hoping that it's a speedy grow back read more

Really enjoyed my first visit here in early November, and wish that this place had been in existence when I worked at an office across the street from it. Looking forward to the next opportunity to visit and get a sharp cut. The understated (to me) decor inside was surprising, but welcoming. No blaring sports TVs or anything like that, and a well-thought out use of the moderate amount of interior space. One of the male stylists, Kyle, worked with me and showed a good grasp of what I was looking for, delivering an edgy style I received several compliments on. It's worth noting that the cut has grown out particularly well through to now mid December, which is not always the case after visiting a barber, and a sign of this place's attention to detail and consideration. read more

ATTENTION TAYLOR & COLT 5+ STARS I am a barber of 29 year's and had the pleasure of working with Taylor & Colt ownership and barbers. This place is something special, if you live in the area or are from out of town, Taylor & Colt exceeds in quality and professionalism, a very talented group of barber's that are very detail oriented, with haircuts, beard trims, hot shaves, the works. Great group of people, music, vibes and energy, leaves you looking like a million bucks and have you walking out feeling like a champion. Ladies at Taylor & Colt, it was a pleasure working with you, keep up the great work and you ladies are being treated properly by ownership. God, bless read more

I tried to get a cut and colour today. The stylist could not have been less helpful or disinterested. Walked out feeling like I had dodged a bullet. I will never return. read more

Canceled my appointment. Been looking for a new barber but this place clearly won't do. I scheduled online (they don't schedule over the phone) but apparently they don't know how to use schedules. (Should have read the reviews ahead I suppose) I showed up and was simply told that I wouldn't be getting a haircut. They acted surprised that I hadn't been contacted ahead about the cancellation; meanwhile, I had called ahead to double check that my appointment was still on, but no one bothered to pick up the phone. I am beyond upset at Taylor and Colts lack of professionalism and will be encouraging everyone I know to stop going here. read more

Amazing place to get a great hair cut, especially for the price! Kyle and team were on point, very personable and excellent at their craft. I'll definitely be back and will recommend to all my friends. Also, coming from a dude with thinning hair, they made it look amazing. read more

Stopped by and got a fresh cut by Brandi. I was able to graduate walking the stage with my fresh cut. What she did that was awesome was refer me to some cool spots to check out in Detroit. She told me to check out Eastern Market and Bell Isle. My wife and I spent 4 hours at Eastern Market and we were able to take some cool graffiti mural pics there as well at the surrounding buildings. We went to Bell Isle and checked out the oldest aquarium in the nation, made in 1904 read more

Been searching around for my go to place for a haircut. This has been my best find thus far. Easy to book through their website, well priced and I've for sure found my forever barber Shelby! It's easy to be hesitant with a beard but she's knows her sh**. Treat your barbers with respect, everyone here is the bomb diggity. read more

The manufactured hypness of Taylor and Come does little to compensate for the over-priced, buzzer haircuts. The barbers were friendly enough, and the haircut wasn't terrible. But if you're looking for a haircut where you just tell them the buzzer number, go to a generic chain and save yourself the money. read more

Worst haircut place in Ann Arbor. Do not come here if you want a good experience and a good looking haircut. This place provides overpriced dollar store haircuts to college students who don't know any better. read more

Barber shops kind of scare me, but this one is great. I love the atmosphere and Anna is wonderful. She helps me realize the potential of my hair. A potential I didn't even know existed. The best place I've ever gotten a haircut. Reasonable prices, cool atmosphere, friendly staff. Emily is fantastic--highly recommended! They even have small cotton towels in the bathroom with which you can do a quick wipe down around the neck and ears after a cut. Just the best! read more

The best haircut I have ever had. The struggle of looking for a place has annoyed me through the years. I have tried everywhere, and T&C is the first place where I get CONSISTENT and PERFECT haircuts. Now a loyal, and reoccurring customer. read more

The haircut and beard trim were fine. Nothing to write home about and I don't think the high prices they charge is warranted by the service. One time I left with a ton of hair all over my face - you could barely see it at all - which was pretty embarrassing as I didn't even realize this until the next time I looked in the mirror. I will say the online scheduling tool is very helpful. read more

This place is not just overpriced, but the haircuts just aren't good. I've had multiple people cut my hair, and they don't listen. They're just gonna cut your hair however they want. Find a different, cheaper place in town to go to. This place only gets business cause it looks nice. read more

Taylor and Colt would be a great barbershop if they took scheduling more seriously. For my appointment last week, I arrived on time but my barber was not there. I've tried a few of the other higher end hair places in Ann Arbor and this is easily my favorite. A little pricey but definitely worth it. Just went in for a new summer hair cut. Kelley cut my hair and did a fantastic job. I didn't know what I wanted so she pulled out one of the many iPads they have around and helped me find something I'd like. All of the staff was very friendly, I'll make sure to come back again. read more

Expect to wait for at least an hour. Miserable and disrespectful staff, horrible experience.

I had a steady barber for 5+ years. Taylor and colt won me over. Solid atmosphere, warm staff, and of course a great haircut. I never thought of myself as an expensive haircut kind of guy but this place is worth the little extra money compared to an in and out joint. A definite must if your trying to find a new shop. read more
