First time ordered Uber Eats from this restaurant and I'm not sure it will happen again. I ordered the bees souvlaki medium rare with orzo and no feta . The food came with feta. The meat was overcooked and it cost me 37 dollars for basically a child size.

During my pre-Thanksgiving roadtrip, I naturally wanted something different than what my hometown offers. Enter: Taverna Modern Mediterranean in Flagstaff, AZ. My dog was waiting in my air conditioned Jeep so I opted to get takeout on November 25, 2025. When I walked in I was promptly and warmly greeted by a nice young man. I ordered at the bar. Used their clean restroom, then waited about 15 minutes for my order to be ready. Later said canine and I shared the Gyro Pita ($18.49) meal which came with fries. I just wish three had been more slices of beef and lamb as they were very thin at that price. I'm also not sure why there was an 8% surcharge on my bill. This is a classy yet comfortable setting for a date, business meeting, family affair, or just catching up with friends. They have a nice, large bar. I'm a fan.

We are so glad we stop by for late lunch, early dinner. The food was delicious and he service was great with the hostess helping out with our waitress. Great tag team. The ambiance felt like a great vibe near the sport bar. Will recommend when in town for a Mediterranean food.

Quick lunch stop at flagstaff (on the transit)- family of 4 including 2 kids. Portions were good size and food was fresh from kitchen. We had gyro, pizza, salad and kebobs- all yum! Service was really good and in time. Indoor seating was spacious. Good for any size group. Will surely come back after the trip.

Salad was mostly bitter purple lettuce with little else. $16.50 wasted. Restaurant needs to re-think everything to succeed.

The $16.50 greek salad was mostly bitter tasting purple lettuce. Very few other ingredients. It should be tightly packed iceberg lettuce with all the other ingredients in volume. At noon I was the only customer in the restaurant while all other eateries in Flagstaff were packed on a summer day. Other items were overpriced also for the mediocre quality.

Delish!! After so much junk food on our roadtrip, my mom and I wanted something fresh and clean. This was just what we needed. Servers were nice and helpful during ordering, but I will say the meats were a bit burnt. We sat by the kitchen so we saw a lot of fire which makes sense as to the char. It was a bit too much for us but maybe it's someone's cup of joe. Liked the mezze app and the potatoes were weirdly sour? Didn't finish them.

No less wings with out the sauce, kiddo wanted ckn tenders, they turned out great

Super cute modern looking Mediterranean food. Happy hour specials 3-6, full bar apps, kid menu, didn't have ckn tenders so made it from no less ckn wings w/o sauce and came out great ordered w side fries, served plenty full. Mom and I got the tavern burgers with the feta and sauce fries.. can out a lil cold but still good. Super sweet server very patient, was mine and my son's first time.

Been here a few times so when friend offered to treat us to a meal, we chose here! Always delicious beer and good! One person chose the Souvlaki beef and chicken with fries plate, another the Falafel pita with fries and I love the Gyro pita with fries. Watched some tennis on one of the screens in the bar. Discovered at checkout an 8% Flagstaff surcharge... okay that's something new and felt bad our friend was paying an extra amount compared to others times I have been here. Those dollars don't go to the server... so be sure to tip your server... I was thinking maybe in cash to be sure the server got their tip!

This Mediterranean spot is a little pricey and they charge an 8% surcharge on the bill. Our server said it was because the minimum wage law in Flagstaff forces higher wages (currently $18/hr) and it is passed on to the consumer. None of it goes to the servers. Despite this, the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. We were greeted early and had a great server. We ordered: - Mezze - a selection of housemade spreads, including: tunisian harissa hummus, hummus, and tzatziki - served with grilled pita and fresh veggies - Greek Salad - mesclun greens, heirloom tomato, kalamata olives, cucumber, onion, bell pepper, pepperocinis, feta, greek dressing, Add Chicken, Hold the Feta (daughter said this salad was very delicious!) - Souvlaki - 2 skewers, one chicken and one beef, lemon roasted potatoes, greek salad, pita, tzatziki sauce (I looooved the lemon roasted potatoes. The meat was grilled well and tender inside. The salad is delicious and full of fresh veggies, olives, pepperocinis, and herbs - this was so filling and good!) - 3 Little Pigs Fired Pizza - house fennel sausage, pepperoni, calabrese, mozzarella There are plenty of booths and tables inside. There's a men's and women's restroom for customers.

Eh, had a large group and none of us were really impressed. Service was very good but the food didn't really hit any of us. Menu for food seemed limited as well.

My friend and I were looking for a spot for dinner, and this was perfect! Grace and the rest of the staff were super attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I always appreciate when a server can give us helpful info to make sure we are ordering something which fits our palate and appetite. I got the falafel with the side Greek salad. Everything was super fresh! The salad had a beautiful amount of different items. I especially appreciated the range of tomatoes. The falafel sandwich was also good seasoning-wise. I liked the herbs but felt the texture was a bit mushy. Definitely would come back in the future.

The restaurant itself was clean and had a stylish modern-meets-vintage vibe that made the atmosphere feel both cozy and upscale. Their cocktail menu was especially unique. I ordered the Vendetta Ride, and it was easily one of my favorite drinks of the night: light, slightly sweet, and finished with just the right kick. I absolutely loved it. The menu features creative contemporary American cuisine with an emphasis on sharing plates, which made the experience even more fun. We ordered two appetizers, two mains, and a dessert, and overall everything was excellent. My only critique would be the Duck Taquitos. The duck flavor was not there, and the mesquite mole sauce leaned too sweet for my taste. Aside from that, every dish impressed us. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a great dining experience. I would highly recommend this spot if you're in Flagstaff!

I've spent years seeking out restaurants worth traveling for. I don't just eat to eat--I plan…read moreentire trips around food. Hospitality matters to me just as much as what's on the plate because great restaurants don't just serve meals; they create memories. Unfortunately, Shift became one I'll never forget for the wrong reasons. Our day couldn't have been further from what the staff assumed. We spent the morning hiking, went back to rest, explored a local bookstore, grabbed ice cream, and walked to our dinner reservation. Not one alcoholic drink had been consumed by anyone in our group the entire day. Not one. We also had a child with us. The only conversation we had with the host before being seated was asking whether it was okay that we had arrived about twenty minutes early for our reservation. We were polite, excited, and looking forward to dinner. Then my husband ordered a beer. The waitress immediately refused because she claimed the hostess believed my husbands speech and mannerisms meant he was intoxicated. Read that again. A guest who had consumed zero alcohol all day was judged to be intoxicated. I understand the responsibility restaurants have. If someone is genuinely impaired, absolutely don't serve them. Every responsible restaurant should protect its guests and its liquor license. But there is an equally important responsibility that seems to have been forgotten: making sure your judgment is actually right before labeling someone. There was no bar crawl. No cocktails beforehand. No wine tasting. No brewery stop. No hidden drinks. There wasn't even one drink. We left feeling embarrassed, confused, and honestly caught off guard. Not because a beer was refused, but because a person was reduced to an assumption based solely on how they naturally presented themselves. Here's what makes the experience even harder to understand. After leaving Shift, we walked to Atria, where we remained for approximately two hours. We talked, enjoyed ourselves, and spent the evening there without issue. If someone in our party had truly been intoxicated wouldn't that have been obvious there as well? It wasn't. Food can be good. Cocktails can be creative. Service can be polished. None of that matters if hospitality disappears the moment someone doesn't fit your expectation of what a guest "should" look or sound like. Maybe perhaps because we weren't locals we seemed off ? To anyone considering Shift, especially if you're traveling with someone whose speech, mannerisms, or disability could be misunderstood, know that this was our experience. I hope the restaurant reflects on what happened and asks itself a difficult question: How many guests have we mistaken for being intoxicated when, in reality, they simply communicated differently? Because that's not just a missed beer. That's a missed opportunity to treat someone with dignity. I came to Flagstaff excited to discover one of its most " creative" restaurants. Instead, I left wondering how quickly a restaurant built on hospitality could make a guest feel so unwelcome. Simply , because my husband is a restaurant manager in Las Vegas, who has managed restaurants like Yellowtail, Herbs&Rye, Gjelina, and Edo we left out of respect for the industry. However, we should have got our deposit automatically refunded. Next time, take the time. Take the time to care. If a staff member is under this assumption, management intervene not to just follow said assumption and repeat what she said, but to hold an actual conversation with your guest, to evaluate , to observe, to understand. I promise you, that would change so many things for you.
