I came to TNT Coaching after trying programs with 2 other online coaching teams - they both taught me things but it felt like something was missing. As a woman in her late 60's, I was trying to lose 15lbs, gain strength and reduce fat on 1350 calories a day. I want to age well and be as strong as possible in my latter years - don't we all? I crossed paths with Tyler on social media and decided to talk with him about his program. This team suggested a reverse diet to re-boot my metabolism, while building strength and endurance. I began going to the gym for workouts 2 days a week, and then moved to 3. I walk an average of 8000 steps a day, a lot of that just part of normal errands, etc. I park on the outer edges of parking lots now - benefits = no dings in my car while adding to my step goal (win/win)! The TNT team slowly increased my calories week by week, topping out at 2150 a day. It felt so great to be able to eat without guilt. I put on a few pounds as part of that, but very few, given the exercise, etc. I am able to lift heavier weights, walk without being winded, and my stomach, arms, backside and legs are smaller and more toned even though my calories were increased by 800 a day. I have been a pretty avid runner and gym goer for about 25 years, and I have several marathons under my belt. Since covid, I had admittedly fallen behind on the maintenance/weight lifting portion of my training and mostly ran to stay active. Now that I've entered my 40s, I've been experiencing the tell tale signs of wear and tear from extensive running (patellar tendon pain, IT band syndrome, lower back pain, etc). I started training with Jake 6 months ago to address my joint pain/mobility issues and the results have been great. Not only does Jake apply his own expertise towards his personally tailored workouts, but he also has a vast network of resources (including an on site chiropractor) to help specialize workouts even more. He coaches by motivating, not shouting in my face, and when I'm doing movements correctly he will allow me to complete them without fake cheerleading that some other trainers do. He's also is very understanding and flexible, as I've had to make some last minute changes to my training schedule a few times and he's always accommodated. Jake also works with me on diet and calorie consumption, including suggestions on sources to get the best macros and eating schedules to extract the most energy for my workouts. Since I've started training with Jake, I've gone from having knee pain from just walking downstairs to being able to complete weighted squats/lunges with little to no knee discomfort. Before training, I was unable to put weight on my knees when I extended them over my toes, now I can do it easily. In addition to lower body strength, I've gained strength and more definition in my upper body, which is an added benefit. I didn't really know what to expect when I first started but honestly this experience has been amazing so far. The workout program is so easy to follow and fits right into my busy schedule. I've learned so much about how nutrition impacts your muscle gains. As a young female, society has pounded into my head from a young age that skinny is best. Working with this program has been so great so far! I love the accountability that comes along with it, keeping my nutrition inputted on the daily basis along with getting my 3 gym days in as well just keeps everything on track and gets me closer to my goals. I've been on and off from the gym for almost 8-9 years with going more consistently in recent 4-5 years, so my prior knowledge of weight training and even dieting was moderate. But, I just couldn't get over the jump whenever I was trying to cut weight, I found myself just always going up and down and never really finding that balance or maintenance weight. I've been with Tyler for about 5 months now and it's has been the best learning experience for weight training and even dieting that I've had yet. He takes his time to break down the workouts and how to properly use the correct form and why it's important to do that and also has helped me with my diet with adjusting some of my calorie intakes and swapping out foods that would be better for my digestion. Working with Tyler has been a great experience. He has a ton of knowledge and the communication is very easy with him. He tailors my workouts to what I have in my garage (cable machine/dumbbells) and can tailor any workout to your gym. I've been learning a lot about lifting weights, but the best part has been learning about my diet. I meal prep and cook now. I weigh my food and watch my calorie intake (which Tyler will lay out for you and why). It has been a journey and i'm still working on my diet, but I can see it becoming a habit now. I worked with Tyler for about 18 months. As a result I transformed my body by gaining much very noticeable muscle mass (didn't lose fat but that was on me for not following diets). At this point, I have logged around 200 workout sessions in the TNT app. What i like about Tyler is that he has the patience to describe why he gives the instructions he gives. So, before I got in contact with Tyler, I would say my training in the gym was very ineffective. I would do many workouts but my trainings weren't structured, consistent, or sport specific. I was lacking the understanding of what exactly I was trying to get from being in the gym. That's precisely what Tyler gave me. I was going into the gym now with a plan he set up for me, but I wasn't just blindly following the workout. Tyler helped me really UNDERSTAND what it was that I was gaining from each exercise. So much so that now, after my time with his program ended, I am confident in going into the gym and putting together my own set of workouts and knowing exactly what I'm going to gain from doing so. Since I already had the experience of going to the gym throughout the week, I only needed a short period of time in the actual program with Tyler, roughly 3 months for me to feel comfortable enough to take on the gym on my own again. When I started the program I was weighing in at 142/143lbs and by the end of it Tyler had helped me get up to 155/157lbs (I was looking to gain just to be clear). The difference I felt in my body was immense. The most noticeable thing for me was how much more full my body felt all around. Tyler helped me get there not only in the gym but also by helping me pay close attention to my diet and making sure I was getting the proper amount of proteins, fats, and carbs daily for the amount of work I was putting in with my sport and the gym. This was my first time ever getting a trainer so I'm really glad I was able to do it with someone as attentive and helpful as Tyler. Someone who deals with chronic pain, autoimmune issues, hypothyroid, inflammation, the list goes on, I am SO grateful for Coach Tyler. I will be coming up on two years with him this June. It's truly hard to put into words what his training sessions have meant to me both physically and mentally. When my body was in tremendous amounts of pain (before Tyler) all l wanted to do was NOTHING. Now l crave to move my body and focus on how to eliminate as much pain as possible. I started working with TNT back in 2020. I was struggling with my mental health. In my Intensive Outpatient Program, it was overly suggested that exercise does wonders for depression. I've been pretty consistent with going to the gym for years, so I was expecting walking in and and just having a coach there simply to have a set program because in my mind I had a head start. Easy peasy. No! Turns out I never saw drastic changes. We had a pretty intense conversation about how your form must be done properly to avoid injury and the best results. I can't imagine my life without them in it Given my age (45) I've always been slim, and no curves. I've always have been confident about my body. I have never in my life had any muscle definition. I never in a million years thought I would have actual abs (after 3 kids) or a nice butt my body looks amazing and has given me an even more reason to believe in myself that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I had been training myself for many years, and it was going just fine. However, I had been on a fitness plateau for almost half a year. I was not getting worse, but I was not improving anymore on my own. I worked almost 10 hours a day, and it left me no time to research how I could get past that plateau. I have always suffered with not being able to gain weight. I am very petite, but I have always wanted to look a bit more muscular and I wanted to accomplish that in a healthy and natural way. Okay so, I worked with Tyler for 8 months collectively and went on a 16 week bikini competition prep the last 4 months. He made the experience something I'd remember for a lifetime, I learned more than I ever could imagine, lost 20lbs during my cut, and learned a lot of self-discipline. He even flew out to my show in Texas on show day. All and all, he's a very motivating human and if you can incorporate following a protocol you will get results with your dedication and focus. I loved the fact that I could always ask questions and he never made you feel like a goofball, no matter the type of question and he would scientifically explain "why" or "why not"! I was lucky enough to be apart of the TNT family after undergoing and ACL surgery. From here on Tyler helped me regain my full potential as an athlete again. By the time lacrosse season started I felt stronger than ever thanks to Tyler's amazing programs. He caters and personalizes the programs that would best fit one's goals and preferences. Not only are his programs amazing, but Tyler is so supportive of all of his clients and engages a personal experience throughout sessions. My lacrosse career has officially come to an end, but the season I had would not have been possible without Tyler's motivation and support. My team ended the season in a semi-finals loss, by only 3. I was referred to Tyler by a good friend who had shown unbelievable results post-baby and ensured me that Tyler actually knew the science and facts behind his work-outs. After not being happy with how i was looking and feeling i started training and haven't looked back since. now down to 215lb i'm feeling the best i ever have. going to the gym has now become an essential part of my routine and i feel 1000% times better every time i leave the gym.
