I've been training with Kyle for about a month now, and I'm very happy I chose to come here. I've been apprehensive about working out in the gym since I've had a series of injuries over the years, and I wanted to make sure I was able to train with someone that would keep me safe while I learn the ropes. Kyle has been that guy, and I look forward to my weekly sessions. He keeps it light and fun, but is very careful of my shoulder that was permanently injured years ago. I've been with Train With Dave since they started a few years ago when they were sharing space in a small private gym in Orange on Tustin Street. My GF at the time and I met personally with Dave for the initial sales meeting and never felt pressured or a hard sell, and because I had lifting experience in the past I could tell Dave and his trainers knew what they were talking about. Gio has been my trainer the entire time and he has been a fantastic instructor, form checker, nutrition planner, and all-around gym buddy. He helped me do a body recomposition and put on muscle while dropping fat and now I have a body that's stronger, less jiggly, more defined, and makes a lot of the girls I meet go "Wow!" If I followed Gio's advice and nutritional plans more strictly I'd likely look even better but I'm a bit too much of a hedonist. The scheduling for work outs is extremely flexible, you'll likely be able to get a trainer with an open spot, and Dave is consistently hiring more trainers. There's a new guy nicknamed Thor here at the Irvine location who really knows his stuff, he's a former Marine who focused more on raw strength lifting so if you're into the powerlifting side he might be the guy for you. All the trainers I've met have been extremely friendly and eager to help you achieve your goals. Jacob sometimes covers me when I have to come in when Gio's not available and he's a like a personal cheerleader with how positive he is when spotting you. Amazing experience so far. Price is reasonable, effort by the coaches excellent. Some places say the session is 1 hour, but in reality it is 35 minutes and the other 25 minutes is you just doing cardio or something (per my friends experience). Train with Dave coaches and Jacob will give you the whole hour to fit in a workout that they design personally for you and your goals. They have an app that helps you track macros for diet that they can also see and tell you to make adjustments. Jacob will tell you how to eat better and he is always accommodating in regards to what time you can come in. I have personally lost 12 pounds and 5 inches off my waist line on my goal towards 12% body fat. It has been 2 months. Of course you have to stay disciplined towards your diet as well.
