My complaint is with the new pricing... They did increase the cost of the cleaning which I can appreciate as everyone is raising prices and if that had been all, would still be using them. What grinds my gears is the added $75.00 trip charge now in place. They did several hot tubes in my area and each of us paid the trip charge. So, they made an extra $150.00+ or more on the same trip. To me this almost price gouging. All of use where within 10 miles of each other, we are only 33.2 miles from the office. They have to drive farther to north Phoenix. Anyway, found someone local who is half the costs for the same service.

Everyone there is knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely focused on helping customers rather than just making a sale. Their service technicians are always professional and courteous. They call ahead before arriving, which gives us time to secure our dog--a small detail that we really appreciate. Over the years, we've relied on Shawn's for everything from routine pool chemicals and accessories to major maintenance, including pool drains/startup, cleaner rebuilds, filter cleans, acid wash, and even a salt cell installation. Every job has been done well and at a fair price. Whenever I've needed repairs or considered buying a new pool cleaner, Shawn has always taken the time to explain the different options, along with the pros and cons of each, so I could make an informed decision instead of feeling pressured into the most expensive choice. When we had a pool leak several years back, Shawn even put me in touch with another company that found the leak right away and began repairs immediately. It's hard to find a business that consistently provides this level of honesty, expertise, and customer service over so many years. I highly recommend Shawn's Pool Store to anyone looking for a trustworthy pool supply and service company.

I will never again do business here. I wish I could give it ZERO STARS. I went in person to get an…read moreestimate after I had already done a "pool school session" and a tech call previously and had schedule to have my pool clean. I wanted to make sure how much it was going to actually cost me, so I made sure that they knew WHAT I HAD IN SUPPLIES including the fact that I had three bags of salt and I wanted them to be used so that I would NOT HAVE to pay their price for the salt needed for my pool. I knew I would need two additional bags but that was it. Well it DID NOT GET USED even though it was NOTED on my file. Then I also knew I needed to replace the filters and would do so at the same time as when getting my pool drained and refilled. The tech was already here, it's not like he had to do an extra trip or anything. I had called and spoken to Shawn over the phone because I received a text letting me know the filters were on sale with a 15% discount and I wanted to make sure the discount was applied to my invoice. He said that yes it was going to be applied on the final bill. Except Shawn failed to mention the FACT THAT THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME $140 additional for putting the filters in. But the worst part was when I went in person to find out why my bill was so high. Of course being the honest person that I am I HAD ALREADY PAID THE INVOICE. Because both the young guy with the beard can't remember his name and a lady with short curly hair ( also don't know her name) were very rude. Even though I was not talking to her in regards to my situation she decided to butt in and tell me that "was I thinking I was going to get things for free?" And the guy all he could say was " well I don't know what was said and what wasn't" pretty much my word against theirs. THAT'S FINE I WILL HAVE THE FINAL WORD, YOU ARE A RIP OFF. YOU JUST WANT TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK. BEING TRANSPARENT, UPFRONT AND HONEST GOES A LONG WAY. ***BE AWARE AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU ASK DETAIL QUESTIONS IF YOU DO DECIDE TO DO BUSINESS HERE ***

Vacuum busted, no big deal I get it things break but it took the tech 3 weeks to notice the vacuum wasn't working. It wasn't until I noticed a bunch of debris on the pool floor and then I had to notify THEM to come fix it. They recommended one other than the Pool Vergneugen and that thing just never worked, then replaced with a Vergneugen and it worked right away. Now just recently they cleaned the filter and recommended to replace it. Not only did they charge for the cleaning, but the charge to replace the four filters was over $630. The filters themselves are $200-300 depending on if you want to get them online or through Shasta Pools. Would've gave em the $100 most people want to install new filters, but I'm sure as hell not paying $750+ between a cleaning of filters that should've been replaced and then paying on top of that to get them replaced. Our pool is a cartridge system, so literally all they have to do is empty the skimmer baskets, balance chemicals, and ensure the vacuum is working properly. I don't have the extra maintenance of a sand filter and the system is hooked up to automation. We've been having an issue with the system running with air in it for about a month now. Paid for a flapper repair and they said everything was all fixed. Spoiler alert: it was not. They just don't care to validate that the system is working properly after a repair is done as long as they get paid. Today the main pump is running bone dry so I had to shut it down. I love Dominic as a person. I still to this day would trust him if HE did the repairs, but he doesn't do it anymore......and his office staff are clearly lacking on holding techs to satisfactory repairs.
