I am someone who has to put my headphones and watch TV to help keep my mind off the pain and not move so much. Joe respects my coping measures and checks in with me occasionally to ensure I am doing ok. The other artists in the shop are friendly when a walk in client arrives. I think some of the tattoos I get are outside of Joes wheelhouse, but they always turn out great! And thats what makes a great tattoo artist in general, being able to adapt to someone's request. We were quoted $500 for the exact flower design she sent. I paid the $100 deposit (confirmed it would go toward the total) and later sent the remaining $400. * January 31 - Original appointment canceled due to illness. We were understanding. * February 2 - Rescheduled for Saturday the 14th at 9:00am. We confirmed immediately. * February 14 at 9:00am - My daughter arrived early. The shop was closed. No message. No call. We didn't hear anything for two hours. After already rescheduling once, this was incredibly disappointing. When she was finally seen later that day, there was sudden confusion about size and placement -- despite the design already being quoted at $500. Comments were made that $500 would not cover a half sleeve. Bringing up price uncertainty the day of the appointment, after full payment, is unacceptable. When I called to address it, the response was defensive rather than accountable. We were told to "leave whatever review you want." My daughter received a refund, but it was handled in a way that felt dismissive and unprofessional. He emphasized his 35 years in business, yet also stated it's nearly impossible to keep up with who paid what or maintain scheduling because he communicates across multiple platforms. That contradiction speaks for itself. Illness happens. Mistakes happen. But confirmed appointments, clear communication, and standing by quoted pricing are basic professional standards -- especially for something permanent. This experience lacked reliability, communication, and respect. I would not recommend. Claiming "I lost my mind on the phone" is ridiculous for the treatment I received being a FULLY paid customer. If you want to risk reschedules and poor communication go ahead and deal with him. Waste of time and aura. 1star because you need it to post the review. It's a tradition Filipino tribal tattoo with some old Filipino writing on it. King is so amazing and patient while tattooing. He makes the room feel very comfortable. I've brought our kids here before to visit my husband while he was getting a tattoo. The entire shop is so kind. They offered candy, juices, fake tattoos, little toys, etc. The owner even once offered soup. (I believe the shop does charity work feeding the homeless once a week, which is awesome!)

Back in July, 2023, I went to My Religion Tattoo to have a "book" and the word "READ" tattooed on…read morethe back of my left hand, plus the word "PLAY" tattooed above the "musical note" I already had on the back of my right hand. The tattooist was Marcus. Everything looked fine when they were finished (Photos 1 & 2), and a month or so later I returned for a touch up on both words, as the lettering had begun to spread and lose definition. The book and note were fine. Shortly thereafter, though, I noticed some swelling on both words and went back to My Religion, where--as far as I can remember--I was told that some swelling was to be expected and to just wait. Flash forward several more months (I'm guessing December, 2023) and the "swelling" had become so prominent (Photos 3 & 4) that it interfered with a photoshoot I was involved with (Even makeup couldn't disguise it--it looked like embossed stationery!) And, as far as I can tell, it continues to get worse. So, later that month I returned again to My Religion and was told that what I was experiencing was probably due to an allergy to the red ink--of which I most certainly was not informed initially--and that nothing, really could be done about it. The "possibility" of laser surgery correcting it was mentioned. And, that was it. I asked my dermatologist about this and they said nothing could be done. I'm especially concerned that the words will eventually become unreadable! So, I have two complaints: One, Marcus should have mentioned that *some* people were allergic to the mercury in red ink, and I certainly would have considered a different color; and, two, some sympathy from the person I spoke in December with would have gone a long way toward mollifying me.

Usually when you hear that, you'll either think we're drunk or will regret getting the tattoos because it came out looking horrible. Well, we were all in our great state of mind and our tattoos turned out looking great. Casey and Jared did my other two friend's tattoos and they praised their work. Ehren did mine and my friend's tattoos. Although it was a simple and required a few lines, the process was quick, simple, and for us, painless. Ehren was patient beginning to end. He took his time to draw out what we wanted and made sure the placement is exactly where we wanted also. He didn't rush the process and he made us feel comfortable. I swear it took less than 5 mins from the moment the needle touched my skin to the phrase, "I am finished." Yes, that is what he said, no pun intended. What I like about this shop is that they don't just use ripped up plastic foils you buy from grocery stores to put on food containers over lining it with regular office supply tape; they use the actual stick on tattoo healing thing (don't know the name) that stays on without having it fall off when you put clothes on or shower. It is a $80 min, which is reasonable. Remember that every artists have their own speciality with tattoo styles. Tattoos are a forever thing, so check out their individual social media accounts to see what/who works with your liking :)

I had an idea for a tattoo that represents my mom and decided that I should try her out, tell her my ideas, and see if I could book a future appointment. I went on Wednesday and asked for Nichole. It was her day off so I talked to the other artist (and I believe shop owner) Nelson. We talked about my idea for the tattoo, and how I was still thinking about placement. I have over 50 hours of work that's covered easily by clothes. I was thinking about placing it in a place that would be hard to cover and he said that he didn't think that was a good idea. We talked about placement ideas in regards to my other tattoos, and my ideas for future work in general. After talking to him for about 30 minutes and looking over his work I was completely sold. This guy is as legit as they come! He had an appointment available later in the day, and I was open so we decided there was no time like the present for a new piece of artwork. When I arrived at 3pm everything was set up and ready to go. 70s rock was playing (of course) and before starting he made it a point to go through each piece of equipment to show his sanitation standards. He is one of the cleanest artists I've ever been to. We went straight to work after that. He outlined with a 5 needle. The smallest needle I've ever had used on me. I'm not an outline girl so it was unpleasant, but it made beautiful, sharp, fine lines. He made me feel 1000% comfortable the whole time. The whole thing took 40-45 minutes. One of my fastest and most detail oriented tattoos! Nelson really makes you feel like he cares about you and his work the whole time! I'm very very happy with my experience there and will ABSOLUTELY go to Nelson again!

In the drawing phase I did not communicate effectively what I was thinking so when he sent the artwork it was not my vision (beautiful, but not what I was looking for). He was very open to feedback and updated all prep drawings to be exactly what I wanted and more. Chris is so clean in his work and shop. I very cautious about cleanliness and Chris makes it a top priority. The work was not rushed and healed beautifully. You always have his full attention for your time.
