A note: I went on an event weekend. Things were a bit hectic, and I can't imagine a review of such…read morewould be fair or on par of what a day to day of this business is actually like. That being said, take this review as more of a placeholder for now. Timing: I went in about an hour after they had opened for a walk-in on this Studio Ghibli event they were having with my partner and had been told that the wait list is about 2 hours. Which seemed fair enough. We spent about an hour and a half out doing our thing and came back. We were told it would probably be another two hours. We were eventually seen about two hours before they closed. Setting: They have a fairly standard shop as far as Reno goes, very small and a few seats arranged in the middle, books showing off their art and other artwork for sale line the back walls. It was pretty cramped for the number of people there. Not on them, but the costumers seemed a bit rude, some taking up nearly three spots on a seat that could seat four, others coming in barely clothed. Which could have led up to the next part. Staff: The staff seemed a bit out of it. The lady who was manning the front desk had a lot of patience with us, first and foremost. My partner would have left due to time, but we stayed because they knew I wanted the art I had chosen. The other staff seemed to argue amongst some of themselves, and the mood seemed just a bit off. I'm sure it's to be expected on such a filled day, though. The main draw, though, the art pieces and, in particular, mine and my partners came out great. We were both very happy with our pieces, and my artist was very quick and seemed like a cool individual. I noted a tattoo from their gumball machine that I had said I enjoyed, and he showed me he had that exact one, and made decent conversation with both of us to try and lighten things up. The random tattoos themselves seem a bit smaller than you'd usually see in such, but they are pretty fun none the less. All in all, the artwork came out great, and I'll probably see myself going back to try and have other work done.

He was super responsive, understanding, and when I showed up the stencil he had drawn up for me was FLAWLESS. I've been tattooed all over the country and some shops just stick with you as somewhere you wish was local, and this is definitely one of them. The shop was well decorated, clearly loved, and very clean. Honestly I'd recommend this shop to anyone in the area and anyone visiting.

I hit him up on instagram a couple months ago about a tattoo I have been looking to get. We made the plans and I booked the appointment about a month ago. I came in today at 4 and we got started. In a month or so we will go back and add some water color coloring. The shops clean and all the artists have unique designs, and loads of talent with affordable and competitive prices. When I was all done I got to take my pics and we put a nifty bandage on it (normally just used to the plastic wrap) and the normal instructions for taking care of it. Super happy with it!

Ali make quick work of the check-in process and had me in the chair within about 15 minutes of walking through the door. She was great about listening to my needs and making sure the print-out was perfect. The actual inking process was quick and easy. Her lines looked beautiful and crisp and I was over the moon about how it turned out. Pricing was reasonable and expected for the quality and ease. We will be returning shortly for our next piece of body art!

Back in July, 2023, I went to My Religion Tattoo to have a "book" and the word "READ" tattooed on…read morethe back of my left hand, plus the word "PLAY" tattooed above the "musical note" I already had on the back of my right hand. The tattooist was Marcus. Everything looked fine when they were finished (Photos 1 & 2), and a month or so later I returned for a touch up on both words, as the lettering had begun to spread and lose definition. The book and note were fine. Shortly thereafter, though, I noticed some swelling on both words and went back to My Religion, where--as far as I can remember--I was told that some swelling was to be expected and to just wait. Flash forward several more months (I'm guessing December, 2023) and the "swelling" had become so prominent (Photos 3 & 4) that it interfered with a photoshoot I was involved with (Even makeup couldn't disguise it--it looked like embossed stationery!) And, as far as I can tell, it continues to get worse. So, later that month I returned again to My Religion and was told that what I was experiencing was probably due to an allergy to the red ink--of which I most certainly was not informed initially--and that nothing, really could be done about it. The "possibility" of laser surgery correcting it was mentioned. And, that was it. I asked my dermatologist about this and they said nothing could be done. I'm especially concerned that the words will eventually become unreadable! So, I have two complaints: One, Marcus should have mentioned that *some* people were allergic to the mercury in red ink, and I certainly would have considered a different color; and, two, some sympathy from the person I spoke in December with would have gone a long way toward mollifying me.

Usually when you hear that, you'll either think we're drunk or will regret getting the tattoos because it came out looking horrible. Well, we were all in our great state of mind and our tattoos turned out looking great. Casey and Jared did my other two friend's tattoos and they praised their work. Ehren did mine and my friend's tattoos. Although it was a simple and required a few lines, the process was quick, simple, and for us, painless. Ehren was patient beginning to end. He took his time to draw out what we wanted and made sure the placement is exactly where we wanted also. He didn't rush the process and he made us feel comfortable. I swear it took less than 5 mins from the moment the needle touched my skin to the phrase, "I am finished." Yes, that is what he said, no pun intended. What I like about this shop is that they don't just use ripped up plastic foils you buy from grocery stores to put on food containers over lining it with regular office supply tape; they use the actual stick on tattoo healing thing (don't know the name) that stays on without having it fall off when you put clothes on or shower. It is a $80 min, which is reasonable. Remember that every artists have their own speciality with tattoo styles. Tattoos are a forever thing, so check out their individual social media accounts to see what/who works with your liking :)
