I have been in here twice since my last review to get work done and both of my pieces were done by Misty. I have gotten several tattoos done by a number of different artists, but the customer service Misty has given me is unmatched. A few weeks after my first piece, she texted me to see how it was healing and to let me know to come in when it needed a touchup and she'd do it for free. She constantly makes herself available outside of the shop, which is why I continue to get work done from her, well along with her talent of course. I've already talked to her about coming in for my next piece and I look forward to it. read more

Tattoo became badly infected just a day after. Came in for a walk-in. Tattoo artist seemed to be trustworthy and the location/environment wasn't too bad. The tattoo looked great once completed, the artist just gave a quick non-detailed overview of how the aftercare instructions. Did everything the artist said to do, even followed instructions posted on the internet, properly cleaned it, etc. A day later the tattoo became extremely infected. Ankle was swollen, red raised bumps were present, it was red, and throbbing pain was throughout my whole ankle. The pain was very severe so I called the tattooed planet place, and the tattoo artist offered no advice, treatment alternative, or any concern. I clearly told him all the symptoms I was having and the only thing he said was switch to another lotion, with no other calming advice or little to none knowledge. I didn't trust his advice so I went to see my doctor, turns out all my symptoms I mentioned to the tattoo artist, were all signs of a bad infection. I had to be given antibiotics and the tattoo was treated with ointments, etc. The tattoo then developed very thick scabs and healed horribly. Don't trust this place, may be unsanitary, and tattoo artists there show no concern for their customers. Bad customer service. Infection could've turned out worse. i cannot repeat enough times to not get a piercing here!!!! got my tragus pierced here a few months ago. the piercer had some girl in the back drinking white claws where we got our piercing done (kinda odd but i said whatever). got the piercing... few months passed and my body was clearly rejecting it. went to a different better place and they said it was the completely wrong earring and very poorly pierced. also said if i waited a few more months that my tragus would've split in half. My best friend and I both got lip tattoos and all 4 guys that we talked to were very friendly. They were also very informative with the possibility of lip tattoos not sticking or fading or blowing out, etc. My tattoo stuck about 85%, his however completely disappeared which is why I give a 4/5 stars. We also had different artists. It was obvious my artist had done multiple lip tattoos. My friend said that his artist didn't seem to have much experience with lip tattoos. He didn't wipe the purple off of his lip and seemed as though he was writing rather than tattooing, His tattoo artist had other great work. We don't want to discredit his art at all. We just want to say that we felt as though his work on lips didn't seem to be as experienced. read more

Wanted a tattoo of a ship in my ring finger. Went to 2 places in Goodyear (cause I live there). One was way over priced and the other said they couldn't work with my design. My family and I went out to tempe and I decided to stop by tattooed planet. First when I walked in I was greeted in a friendly manner, not like the 2 before. Joey was the artist in the shop and he took the time to look and discuss my design with me. The price was right on the money and I was confident by looking at his previous work and designs that he was my artist. The tattoo was quick but we kept up the conversation. I could tell that he doesn't see people as customers only. After he was done I looked at it and it was exactly what I wanted. After I discussed the option of coming back for another tattoo at a later date, he was happy to accommodate. Great tattoo and great customer service. Thanks Joey and tattooed planet! I have been going to Tattooed Planet for years and the guys and gals there are the only ones that I will trust. The staff there really listen to what you want and they are super nice as well. I love the atmosphere in the shop, it is relaxed but totally professional. I have sent many friends there over the years for their tattoo work and piercing as well and never have had any complaints. Misty tattooed my ankle/ foot area with a beautiful music note design that she created that is my absolute favorite tattoo. It took about 6 weeks to heal with a lot of bleeding because my skin heals poorly but it made no difference on how awesome it turned out. It's been two years and still looks fresh! She also tattooed "xoxo" behind my left ear in cursive. Behind the ear was also difficult to heal because of washing my hair and just simply forgetting its there and brushing over it when it's trying to heal. Regardless of the long process to heal, they both turned out amazing. Definitely recommend Misty if you are going to tattooed planet. read more

terrible customer service. they told us to come back for a piercing in an hour and a half. when we came back they said they'd call in another hour (at 1230 am). when we didn't get a call after 2 hours of waiting, we went back and they were closed. even after i had asked him about the closing time, which he responded "we won't close until we get you guys in". we won't be going back. read more

Joey is an amazing artist and all-around awesome person. After a few pictures I showed him, he was able to grasp what I was going for and put an idea I had in my head to an amazing piece of art on my arm. I will be going there in the future to fully finish the half sleeve I started. People have stopped me to ask where I got my work done. Do not get tattooed here. I had one done by Misty about two years ago, and regretted it as soon as I looked in the mirror after. When she put the stencil on me it looked fine, but the finished product looked nothing like I wanted. It was crooked, many parts of it were misshapen and the lettering was absolutely horrible. After it healed, it was even worse. So much scar tissue from her tattooing way too deep. I finally have this piece of shit almost completely covered up, $600 later. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I went and got my first tattoo here! I didn't make an appointment but I did call ahead to ask how long the wait was and that I was on my way. I had Mickey do my tattoo and I really liked him. He was honest with me when I asked question (which I had a lot because I was nervous). Overall it was a great experience. There were only two things I wish they did a little differently. The first was I wish that he had opened the needles in front of me so I knew they were clean. The second is I wish that he went over the after care a little bit better and given me an updated instruction care sheet to take home. But I really love my tattoo and would recommend them! read more

First time here & NEVER again got a small tattoo on my arm I went to 5 other tattoo shops to see where I can find a perfect price this one said 70$ so my sister wanted one also We both got one that are worth no more then 80$ it took 20 min to get it done next thing you know they charged me 260$ for both and put down that it lasted an hour I don't recommend this place at all they fuck you over big time I told a lot of people bout what happened!!!!! I went to Tattooed Planet for my first 'real' tattoo (something that took more than 20 minutes of work) and I am very happy with the results. Misty helped me come up with a design for my growing collection of horror-themed tattoos that was awesomely realistic and gruesome. Her line work and coloring came out great and each session comfortable and as painless as getting a tattoo can be. I went to tattooed planet with my friend to get her ear pierced and I ended up getting a tattoo the same day by Misty... It was the worst decision I have ever made!!!!!!! I had this design I wanted for months and I was so happy with the way it turned out. But then it's started to get more and more painful as the days passed. Then it became red and inflamed. NONE of my other tattoos ever healed this way. It was oozing and so incredibly painful I couldn't even put a sock on. I was concerned about so I went in to have her look at it. Misty said it was fine. And that it was healing right. So obviously I trusted her opinion. But the same night the pain became even more unbearable. So I decide to go to the doctor. And of course it was INFECTED!!!! Really?!?! I went to her the same day and she didn't believe me something was wrong. Misty ended up tattooing way to deep and my foot was then bleeding ink. I would not trust her doing a cover up. I trusted her when she said she wanted to put my tattoo in her portfolio but now I will never let her come close to it. Honestly I thought I can trust someone who is a tattoo artist and has a license in a legitimate building but I guess not... I am so upset that I am now regretting my tattoo and I now hate I will have to get a cover up due to the fact she doesn't know how to tattoo properly. I strongly recommend you not going to get a tattoo here. If you could a half star I would. Don't get me wrong she is a very nice and friendly person but I would not go back! read more

I came here to get my navel pierced because my go-to piercing store was closing and didn't have time to actually pierce me. My store did at least take a quick look at my navel to tell me that I had the right anatomy for it and to just make sure that when I do get it pierced, to have a small jewel on the bottom. I then went to Tattooed Planet because they were the only place open on a Sunday after 7:30 pm. The parlor was absolutely full, with only one worker on the floor trying to talk to people while the other workers that I could see were talking in the back. It took at least 15 minutes for the employee to notice me and the first thing he told me was that they were too busy and to come back in 2-3 hours without asking what I wanted done. By then the employees from the back went outside for a smoke break. I left with no intention of coming back when the workers outside asked if I had been helped, which I replied that I had just been told to come back in a couple hours. They then asked what I had wanted to get done and I told them I wanted my navel pierced. The piercer then said that he had to do a small tattoo first but that he could help me in 10-15 min. I then went back inside and waited until he was ready for me. I went into the back room and he marked my belly button where he would pierce me. Usually after they mark you they have you look in the mirror and ask if thats what you want, he did not he just immediately pierced me. Two days later my piercing was itching and red, even though I had not touched/scratched it. I decided to have my normal piercing place have a look and see if its ok. They check it out and let me know that when the other place pierced me, they angled inward when it needed to be straight for the shape of my belly button. They also let me know that the jewelry they used was not good quality (the type of metal they use in staples) and if you have sensitive skin (which I do) it will bother the skin. They gave me options on how to fix it, and I decided to have it taken out and have them pierce it when it heals in a month or two. I'm sure I just had a bad experience at Tattooed Planet, but I am just upset because it was a $40 piercing and I gave a $10 tip, so I just lost $50 and I am a broke college student. :( read more

If you ever get a piercing here set an appointment with Joey. I would not recommend any new piercer. I can't remember the Guy who pierced my Tragus but he was horrible. I read another review about a nipple piercing that sounded exactly like the guy who did mine. He put the needle in my Tragus and couldn't find an exit he said that it was being stubborn. He twisted and poked for a good 3 minutes and I could feel all the blood going into my ear. after finally getting it in I began to feel light headed and passed out, I even started shaking well I was unconscious. My sister was so concerned and the piercer told her to get away but she refused she had to slap me to wake me up. Then he said he has people pass out and throw up often which doesn't make me feel any better just clarification that he shouldn't be allowed to do piercings. After one day my ear was so swollen the earring was sinking into my skin. I had to go back and have the owner tugged the piercing out of my very sore ear and put in a new bar. The pain and unconvinced I experienced was horrible. Joey is a very good and definitely knows what he's doing if it wasn't for him my ear would've probably been extremely infected. read more

I got my nipple pierced the other day and it was not a good experience. The guy doing the piercing was very rude. After the needle went it, it fell out on to my arm. I thought it was normal because it was after he grabbed for the jewelry to put it in, and I thought the jewelry was in all the way but it wasn't, and my sister said it looked like he was having trouble. The piercer even told me it was being a difficult nipple. He then picked up the needle that fell on my arm and it seemed like he re-pierced it. I wasn't looking because I didn't want to see what was happening. My sister told me he couldn't find the exit hole when he got the piercing in, and that's when the needle fell. It hurt so badly and was so painful! I started getting dizzy and nauseous. I was hearing a ringing noise and everything. It seemed to have taken a long time for the guy to put the jewelry in. When he finally got it on and the ball screwed I got so faint and pale. The music was so loud and all I could hear was a ringing. My sister asked if he could turn the music down because she can tell I wasn't looking great, but the guy said no! And he didn't! I was so nauseous I threw up. The guy did at least give me chocolate to eat to get some sugar in me. After I finally came to, I told the guy I wouldn't be able to do the other nipple and he was pretty upset, and didn't believe me. I told him I can't go through that again and he said maybe I could come back another day for the other one. But I would never. He even made me pay for the extra materials used. Even though it was a bad experience and I almost passed out. I am happy I had a coupon so didn't have to pay full price. I am not going to go back to that place and get the other pierced. He didn't even tell me cleaning directions afterwards, I had to ask him. I am really disappointed with the experience. I'm very upset. read more
