I came in here to sell and I brought in brands like Levi's Madewell, and Brandy Melville. The guy who registered me in said I was next. An hour later I go up to the register because my sale was done and they decide to just buy one item for four dollars out of my whole IKEA bag, which had great finds trust me I'm a millennial who knows fashion ... lol ...Even though I was supposedly next, I had to wait like a whole hour for them to just buy me one item. 0 stars, I should have read the comments before coming in. I brought in 4 bags with clothing that were brand new compared to the items they have hung up labeled gently used. All different brands but apparently not good enough for their store. I looked around their store, seeing the items around thinking I would walk out with something. Nope was I wrong. Some of those so called vintage clothing has to be recycled. I had a couple of vintage dresses, worn once and not even those passed their so called approval. One more thing they had some dolce vita loafers in a terrible condition; cracked and worn down. Priced tag at $49.50 when Costco is selling the exact same loafers in two different colors for $29.99. Those girls should not be the ones running that place. Horrible customer service even from the girl who wasn't even helping me out. Shoved my shit in an aggressive manner so I could hurry up. I do not recommend bringing items here to sell unless they are high end brands and even then they give you shitty prices for them. You can sell them for more on eBay or offer up to be honest. Also the one buyer (has reddish hair) is super rude, condescending not only to customers but also staff. I felt so bad for the young lady that was working there and the way she was treating her. Tattered's dead stock y2k section (the first two racks when you walk in) never fails me. i can't help but stop by every time in the the area. Usually hit or miss for me. Awful for selling, they are very picking about labels and brands. Barely took anything from my bag filled with AE, free people, LF, etc. but then I found a shirt with an emoji on it while waiting for my bag to be processed ?? They also just shove your clothes back in the bag and throw it in the corner. Did not even try to make it nice. Shopping there is okay. Mostly t shirts or older niche items. Good if you're looking for a costume or something. It used to be so much better! read more

I came to sell 7 pairs of new shoes,but before I could unload my cart a young woman told me I couldn't sell anything there .But I was there with a half hour to spare but she didn't provide any information,I took the shoes back to my car but it was bothering me that she hadn't said why.So I went back to the store and right when I went in she told me to leave. I asked for the manager she said that was her,I asked her name she refused to give it only that SHE was the manager when I asked for the owners information she again refused it and demanded I leave the store.So if you want to be exposed to childish managers who act like imbeciles this must be the place because she had me in front of several customers and other employees for no reason and refuses to give you a number for the owner,I feel the owner shouldve vetted this person more before making her a manager because this person isn't up to a managers quality as yet and may never be and that puts the owner at risk. read more

This place is not it. It's a lame excuse for a resell store ran by Depop thrift girlies who just found out about fashion and who only sell items for specific people and sizes aka if you're white and skinny. Every time I try to sell my clothing here they act so pretentious and reject almost everything that doesn't fit their aesthetic and if they do want to buy something they give you practically petty change for your items. It's funny how selective they are about buying pieces yet I see shirts from target and Zara in horrible condition being sold. If you wanna sell your stuff save yourself time and go somewhere else like 2nd street, I did and they took everything tattered didn't and gave me a wayyy better deal. read more

A hit and miss when looking to buy clothes. Employees need training in customer service. Don't expect good service from them. Tattered is pretty pricey for clothes that have a lot wear and tear in my opinion. Good luck trying to sell anything. I went to sell some mint condition brands like Lululemon, Banana Republic, and Fyre shoes. They didn't buy anything and I was told "we dont sell these brands." I wasn't even in the store 5 min before she approached me & said "yeah.. it's a No, it's just not the Brands we are looking for".. I asked U guys go by Brands?.. she said "well & styles" which I understand some Stuff they may not buy from me my reason for leaving a 1 Star is... the employee did not even Go thru my stuff!!!!!!!! I went to put my bag back in my car & notice All those clothes were EXACTLY how I folded them when I put them in the bag. SMFH. She didn't even bother to go thru my stuff properly before telling me "yeahhh.. it's a no" It wasn't busy, only 1 other shopper.. It wasn't a NEED to sell it but I took my time to come out there. Walked in looking specifically for a dress I saw on their Instagram. Was not greeted at all, as the two employees were chatting behind the register. They didn't acknowledge me at all so I hunted for the dress myself. When I was ready to pay, the cashier was tagging clothes and said "hold on a minute". No "Hi" or niceness at all. I was purchasing a 100% silk dress and when she asked if I wanted a bag I said "Yes, if you have a bag it will protect the dress." She replied "So do you want a bag, yes or no?". The cashier was an Asian girl with some tattoos and receipt name said Leah. After reading the other reviews, customer service is non existent at this store. You walk out feeling bad and regretting your purchase. Employees would rather chat with each other than make sales for the store. Not returning again. read more

I'm going to keep this short and sweet - Sandwiched between my drycleaners and my spa, I had no excuse NOT to give this place a look at some point, and I regret only that it took me three weeks to do so, because I cannot imagine all the fantastic finds I... well, failed to find in those three weeks. Hands down the best resale shop in Long Beach at this point (and in Los Altos! Hooray!) Wonderful, unique, high quality pieces. Clearly the owner is careful about what she buys, and it shows. The shop itself is large, clean, and absurdly well-organized. Even the name is fantastic. I popped in for eight minutes last night just before close and walked out with an amazing sweater (too big, but I loved it so much I couldn't resist) and an adorable dress, the likes of which I'd never before laid eyes on anywhere else - as well as two rings and the best pair of over the knee socks I've seen outside of sockdreams. Can't imagine the damage I could've done with more time... though I can guarantee I'll soon find out. I'm so excited about this shop! Seriously, it makes me wish I was one of her investors. Once the word is out on this place, I imagine there are going to be lines out the door. Just tried to walk in and buy 1 pair of earrings, I'm in the storefront and one employee tells me that they're almost closed and can only accept card. The other employee, who has worked there a long time, she's cute with bleached hair.. she tells me "Actually we're closed sorry" you just lost your business from me. I didn't see how much their clothing costs, but I saw their jewelry which is cute and well prices ($2 for earrings). First time in today, and the staff was super friendly and nice. I was actually really surprised at the good selection on clothing they had ! Marc Jacobs, vintage dior, bcbg, Anne Taylor loft, Jeffrey Campbell .. And other Nordstrom brands , I was pretty impressed and I think the prices are reasonable. Places like buffalo exchange, in my opinion, have an overload of "junk" lots and lots of racks with nothing but garbage, this place is nothing like that! They really have standards of the clothing they want to sell and stick to it, I appreciate coming into a store that doesn't require me to spend hours digging for a cubic zirconia and wasting my time. I found a few pieces I really liked quick, but had to debate about which to buy since I didn't want to go overboard. The prices are also reasonable, some items were cheaper than buffalo exchange but of course its more expensive than goodwill. They also have new clothing that range in price but also really cute an unique. if you want cute name brand items expect to pay a little more (that's my opinion). I don't shop at Marshall's or Ross because my time is more valuable. Id rather pay more and save time, then to pay less and spend 3 hours shuffling through racks of garbage... I'm less then impressed. I walk in and the lady at the cash register doesn't even say hello. Never a good start when the sales staff ignore you. There is a clean aesthetic with salon like touches. The changing rooms are large with a heavy curtain. The clothes are on nice hangers that make pretty tink tink noises when the touch. The hangers are well designed. Check out the shoe section, they all look desirable, you know, no ick factor. Nice used shoes look barely worn. And there were cute, unique and affordable jewelry. They have a good selection of men's clothes. I saw several things my 17year old son would like. A smaller selection of women's clothes. There are lots of skimpy tops and short shorts. The clothes are divided by sizes (size 6, 8, 10...) until you get to "large" which has very slim pickings. All the sizes from 12 to 3x are in the "large" section. And very few pieces at that. This place has limited options for large women. The clothes they accept appears to be targeting sizes and styles for teenagers and young adults. I am not the targeted demographic. I won't likely return here to shop, instead I will go to Savers in Fountain Valley. read more

This place is cool considering it's in a shopping center that's been seriously lacking in fun/trendy shops. I'm a sucker for thrift/vintage/used/etc. so I've checked this place out a few times now. I must admit, some of their clothing is a bit pricy considering what it is (think $15 for a plain used t-shirt). If anything I'm really just a big fan of their small little jewelry section because those prices are actually very reasonable. I bought several stackable rings which ranged from $5.50-$11.50. The jewelry is all new, likely purchased from an outlet or something and they have some other new items towards the front of the store. They never give you enough for your clothes. You won't get value you for your clothes or purses. Surprised I haven't written a review a long time ago. I remembered when Tattered first opened. I have been coming here since then. I've bought quite of few items here and sold some items as well. The store is relatively smaller than most consignment/thrift stores. But that's ok with me because I like the fact that the store is neat and spacious and not overwhelmed with racks and racks of jammed-packed clothes. They have a nice selection of clothing, purses, shoes, and jewelry. However, some of the items seems a bit overpriced to me. Went in to go sell my clothes earlier today and I always fold and organize all of my clothing pieces nicely into a bag. After the employees went through my pieces, they did not fold one single clothing item and seemed to have just thrown it in the bag?? I find this behavior very rude considering that wasn't how the items were presented to them. Also, the owner? idk or the lady with the orange hair has such a horrible attitude and is not an approachable employee. I could hear her making comments about items that people brought in and I was honestly just waiting for her and another employee to hurry up and go through my pieces so that I could leave LMAO. The rule of "sticking around the store until your items are reviewed" is stupid because I waited 45 mins for them to only buy 2 pieces. The store is so selective in their inventory so I would honestly save my time and not come here to sell or buy because they lowball you, everything was marked up and literally none of it was cute. Went in for the 1st time today before picking up my daughter at CSULB. The store was small but well-stocked with high quality merchandise. Didn't find any clothes in my size but saw some cute brown suede boots that I will probably snag if they are still there in a day or two. Great place to trade in your unwanted clothes for cute used clothes. Right now they are looking for brands/items like Hollister, lightweight sweaters and jackets, Pac Sun, Lacoste, to name a few. They had a decent collection of Coach purses near the register and a sale rack near the back of the store. Shoes were in good, barely-worn condition but were priced a little on the high side ($20-$40 for the ones I liked). Employees were friendly but unobtrusive.
