I had an incredible experience here the other morning and just felt the need to give a shout out to…read morethe awesome cashier!! They had a promo going for a "free" mug with a $25 purchase. The mug was really cool and AZ themed, so I had to get it. I picked out some of the cake slices as well as some baked goods! I also ordered the Vietnamese coffee drink and added sea salt and brown sugar. It was delicious but definitely on the sweeter side. I think I would skip the brown sugar next time. When I arrived, they were out of the Berry Tales on the floor which are my favorite. I asked if they had any made in the back and it turns out they'd recently made a fresh batch and were letting them cool. Assunta got me a couple of those and then helped ring up my order. She was very very nice and gave me an extra slice of cake. When I mentioned they were for a birthday, she also gave me some candles and birthday chocolates to put on top. I really appreciated this and can't thank her enough for going the extra mile to provide such awesome service! I love 85, Especially this location in Chandler. Definitely check it out sometime.

Walking in…read morefor the first time, it was so much fun seeing the huge variety of baked goods, breads, pastries, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks they had to offer. There were so many options that it honestly took me a while to decide what I wanted! I really liked the self-serve bakery concept because it lets you browse at your own pace and pick out whatever catches your eye. They have a great mix of both sweet and savory items, along with an extensive drink menu featuring both hot and cold beverages, so there's truly something for everyone no matter what you're craving. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and flavorful. The pastries were light and delicious, and the drinks paired perfectly with the food. You can definitely tell they take pride in the quality of what they serve. The only thing I'd mention is that they don't accept American Express. It wasn't an issue for me since I had another payment method, but it's something to keep in mind before visiting. Overall, this was a fantastic first experience, and I can definitely see why so many people recommend 85°C Bakery Cafe. Between the incredible selection, fresh-tasting food, delicious drinks, and unique bakery experience, I'll definitely be back to try even more of their menu.

We ended up getting the raspberry puff pastry, the chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake, and the red velvet cupcake. Raspberry Puff Pastry: My husband really enjoyed this one. It was flaky, the perfect size, and lightly sweet without being overly sweet. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcake: This was my favorite! The cake had little bits of chocolate chips throughout, which was a fun surprise. The frosting was light, airy, and not overly sweet. The best part? It comes topped with a soft, chewy chocolate chip cookie, so it's basically two desserts in one. Red Velvet Cupcake: This one didn't disappoint either. The cake was moist with a nice cocoa flavor, and the buttercream frosting was rich, creamy, buttery, and exactly what you'd hope for in a classic red velvet cupcake. They also serve drinks and were offering samples of their prickly pear lemonade. It was delicious and super refreshing, but a little sweeter than I personally prefer. If you have a sweet tooth, I think you'll really enjoy it. Overall, it was great and we'd go back to try other things. Give it a try. The staff is also nice and provided good service.

Quiches and Pies is a local business that I heard about only very recently. I decided to check it…read moreout one morning and they had so many delicious looking pastries and quiches. I was only in the mood for pastries, but I would love to come back to try their quiches and coffee. There's a decent amount of seating, but not sure how busy it might get on a weekend morning. I opted for a kouign amann and a chausson aux pommes, which is like an apple turnover. Everything looked reasonably priced. The kouign amann and the chausson were perfectly flaky and hit the spot. I wasn't able to eat both pastries the same day, and I felt like they still held pretty well the next day. So glad I got to try this place and I'll be back!!

Full disclosure - would give 5 stars, but first time here, and I like to reserve the 5th start…read moreeither if I return, or there's something beyond exceptional. Summary - will be back and this place is great. There appears to be more artisan and patisseries beginning to open East of Phoenix. The biggest hype appears to be Sable' in Gilbert - reserving comments on that place, until I try it. In the same strip mall as Happy Jade Chineese restaurant, a law firm, a Nigerian restaurant (next door) and a small market, Q&P is a great find. Not an area you'd be looking for a patisserie. I love finding these places. Initial impression: very friendly, quaint, reasonable seating. Very comfortable, but not pretentious. One reviewer giving only one star, complained about not being timely served, but never discussed the food quality. I didn't sit down and was ordering to go, but the gal who served me was very friendly. I don't get the impression you have to pronounce all of the pastries with a French accent - and if you wanted to say Crescent Roll instead of Croissant -- or over pronounced "Crah-saunnn", they'd smile and still serve you! Food: I ordered Goat Cheese, roasted Tomato Quiche and a Chocolate/Coffee Croissant - excuse me - pain au chocolat-coffee. Both excellent. Quiche - 5/5 Croissant - 4/5. Quiche custard was soft, but smooth and creamy. Just the right amount of goat cheese. I only got one cherry tomato, would have liked a one or two more, but just got the wrong piece. Price $9.5. Croissant had kind of a coffee/chocolate paste as a filling - kind of like Almond paste, but with Chocolate. And then also just melted dark chocolate. Very good, buttery. There Quiche selection is diverse - from Lorraine to Duck confit. Something for every palate. Did not try coffee. Price not "cheap", but if you consider getting lunch at a sit down place with high quality ingredients, the $9.50 is reasonable. I forgot the price of the croissant. Its hard for a good bakery to balance between quality and price. There's just a plain lot of labor involved in making quality baked goods, and you have to have quality ingredients - just the butter alone. And, you need the clientele. So I hope they have great success. I'll be back!

Truly the most underrated Asian bakery in the area (and my personal favorite as a Canto girl!)…read more First off, BF Bakery 100% offers the softest milk breads around. You won't be getting dry bolo bao or pastries with an underwhelming amount of filling. Their traditional HK pastries are perfect and consistent every time. Lesser known fact: they've been killing the pastry fusion game. My favorite is a pastry that blends curry, pork sung, and green onion milk breads into one. They also have a milk bread loaf that's half green tea/red bean and half coconut. I think they've even had pork sung red bean once which is admirably wild?? Their latest releases have also been phenomenal. The flaky, sesame-covered radish and spring onion pies taste like they're straight out of a dim sum restaurant, and the salted cream custard bun was so aromatic and creamy. Also worth noting that BF Bakery has long since previous reviews resolved any fly issues. All pastries are bagged, and even free samples have been in sealed containers. So convenient to also be able to check out at the grocery registers if the line gets long!

I know they're vegetarian, but I wanted to double check with her. She responds as "vegetarian means no meat, right"? All employees working at a food establishment should know what vegetarian means. This was quite baffling to hear. I asked her for a new slice because the one that was out on display was visibly burned and the other slice was touching pepperoni from the meat pizza. As mentioned, I'm a vegetarian. Therefore, I could not have either one of those slices. She proceeds to say that's how the pizzas are. They are slightly burned because they are so sourdough. While I can accept this answer, I do not accept the fact that she would not be willing to give me another slice as a paying customer. She insensitively said she can't give me a new one until all the old slices are taken up. She mentioned that this is their procedure. According to this, they are saying that they will not provide a proper product unless the old, damaged product, or unacceptable by the customer is used up first. If this is their business model, then it is apparent they do not value customer service. This business should have the competence to understand that if they want to sell a product, they cannot sell it in a condition that the customer is not satisfied with. Most importantly, being a vegetarian, they should have the sensitivity to understand that if a slice is touching the meat product then they cannot consume it. And again, the employee completely disregarded my health and religious beliefs by not accommodating me. You usually won't encounter problems when you're just trying to buy bread. However, it reflects on the business's employees greatly when there is a problem and they do not value customer service by resolving or accommodating the customer's satisfaction. I will be switching to Noble exclusively. Especially since it's so readily available at the farmers markets and stores.
