This place is AMAZING! A trip that I know for a fact would have cost me over $250 at my dealership only cost me $65 here. Let me walk you through my experience at Tate Boys with my 2012 Toyota Camry XLE. First off, I'm I 21 year old female college student who knows next to nothing about cars. Some time ago, I ran over one of those cement bumper guard things they have in parking lots. The undercarriage of my car ripped, and the only reason I know that is because it made a horrible grinding sound every time I would go over a speed bump or a pothole or dip or anything. And we live in Tulsa, they're a dime a dozen. Next, my tire gage is automatic, so it tells me when my tires are low and which ones they are. Well, the same ones kept getting low, but they didn't look low, and I would keep filling them up. Even my Dad said they looked fine. So I put that on the list of things to have them look at as well, because I didn't know if it was my gage or my tires, because it was two of them on opposite ends, front right and back left. Finally, my maintenance light blinks on. I can't procrastinate any longer. I have to get this car fixed. The constant grinding, the (!) of low tire pressure, and now this? Forget it, I'll suck up my pride and ask my parents to fix my stupid car. I'll find a way to pay them back. I knew I had to get the oil changed anyway, I'd budgeted for that. But the dealership said that to fix my undercarriage would cost $174.59. And I did not have that kind of money. So I went in to Tate Boys, explained what was going on with the car and that I needed the oil changed, and went to sit down and eat my lunch. I got there around 12:50pm on a Thursday afternoon. They not only changed my oil, they fixed my undercarriage, FREE OF CHARGE MIGHT I ADD, so that it no longer makes that awful noise (and that my dealership was going to charge me $175 for), they also told me I had 2 nails in in two DIFFERENT TIRES, and they repaired them for me, also free of charge, and sent me on my merry little way. Y'all. 21 year old female who had no idea what she was doing. They obviously could have taken advantage of me, but instead, they showed great integrity and they changed my oil, fixed my car, and basically said "We got you, it's on us today." apparently if you book online the system does not see what is in the shop. I had an appointment for today and now they can't get me in until maybe tomorrow. they didn't call or notify me. I made arrangements for a ride to meet me there then had to tell them to go home. it was ridiculous. it was 10 am and several irritated people in the waiting room. I gave them 2 opportunities to be a decent place for my auto maintenance and they failed both times. looking for a new shop. read more

I took my 2018 Silverado LTZ in to Tate Boys have the A/C checked they said it would need to be charged. $600 latter they returned it. 24hrs latter I took it back because it was not fixed. they said it needed a new compressor $2000 latter they returned it fixed of course. After a couple of days I returned it they said my new compressor had failed and would need to be replaced under warranty. Then the same story they returned it and so did. They said they did not install a rebuilt compressor but that's the only thing that explains the poor performance. I payed $2600 for working A/C I will say that it does work when it's cool outside but not so much when it's hot. I just want it to work with out all LIES &run around. I paid for new compressor and that's what I should have gotten. read more

I have been in a month-long battle with insurance. Tate boys did nothing. To my knowledge, not even an investigation to the incident occurred. Very poor customer service. Even worse transparency with pricing and cost. They quoted pricing for tires and then raised the price to almost double with all the fees after they were done and asked to be paid once they completed the work. They even tried to say they did work they never did. Luckily I caught it and had them remove that cost before payment. I would never recommend using them. read more

I received a call maybe 8 hours later - they wrecked my vehicle - not a dent, full on TOTALED! $25k worth of damages.... I waited to see if they would make this situation right by taking care of it. THEY DID NOTHING. I have been in a back and forth with insurance since that day (once they finally filed the claim and someone was able to reach out to me 5 days later). Usually, I go to the Tates in Owasso. I was in the area of BA and thought I could peacefully get my oil changed. Next thing you know, they told me I had a turbo leak, but of course I couldn't speak to the technician who diagnosed it. Then they sent me to Team One automotive services, the shop right behind them and of course they also said I had a turbo leak, made me pay $88 to diagnose my car and then told me that I possibly have a coolant leak but I would have to pay another $88 because he didn't have time to look at it. He had my car the entire day! Way to go Tate Boys. I will never return to this location ever again. read more

Today is the second time the Kenosha and Aspen Tate Boys store in Broken Arrow has tried to kill me. The first time I had my brake fluid changed but one of the bleeders was left loose and I lost my hydraulic brakes on HWY 169 at 70mph mere feet away from the back of a semi. Luckily, my cable operated e-brake worked sufficiently as I limped the car to the shop where I proceeded to do a very good job of not screaming at the kid at the desk. They did me right by redoing the work, refunding me, and giving me a free oil change. I considered not returning but decided that I was otherwise happy with the other work done to my vehicles and to give them the benefit of the doubt. How foolish I feel now. About a week and a half ago I went in for an oil change and asked that the tech check my brakes, bearings, tires etc. for wear at I was getting some weird road noise. When the car was returned to me I was told the rear tires had some flat spots that were causing some road noise but were otherwise ok. I was told the tires were near needing to be replaced but still had a little life left so they should be ok for now. Nothing about checking the brakes, bearings, etc. or diagnosis for the actual cause of the flat spots. They said they weren't going to rotate them because that would cause the vibration to go to the front to be felt through the steering wheel so I should just leave them in back till it was time to change them. Now I'm writing this from a hotel room that my girlfriend had to have relatives help cover because I've got a nasty flat 4 hours away from our destination. Theres a big nasty hole worn into the inboard side of the tire. When I pulled the wheel to put the spare on I also noticed the balance weights were missing; perhaps the out of balance wheel ate itself or killed my bearing or a bad loose bearing vibrated the weights off but that's guesses at this point. After I put on the spare I still get a noise out of the rear so I'm still suspecting bearings. Tomorrow I get to replace tires and I get to pay another shop to check my suspension and rolling components for wear like it should have been before I left so that the new tires aren't ruined like the one full of holes in my trunk right now. I am on vacation so obviously a lot of my plans for tonight and tomorrow are just cancelled and that sucks. Worst case scenario, I pay a shop to replace some more parts or I do it myself in an auto parts store parking lot somewhere with tools freshly bought from Harbor Freight if the local shops don't have the time. Left around 30 minutes ago.. came in because my tire was not holding air. I was told they checked everything and that there was no hole or anything wrong with my tire. As I am heading home I get a flat, that's odd because I was just told there is NOTHING wrong with my tire. oh but wait there is a nice size hole. So I called to ask them about this. They looked at my service history and that they did pull out a nail bit that it didn't "go through all the way" However they did not even mention this. They only said that there was nothing wrong with it. If my tire was losing air with the nail in it what did they think would happen when they removed it? Thank God for my mama, she did some YouTube stuff and found it for me. They point blank lied and didn't fix my tire. Will not recommend or come back. Thank you for listing to my rant !! read more

Tate Boys probably doesn't want you to read this post, but, oh well. I want to say one thing before my review here. In Oct 2020 Tate Boys sold to GB Auto Service. Before this sale occurred, I and my husband perceived them to be honest and reasonably priced. We trusted them. Something happened to my husbands truck after their sale and he was given a quote of $700 something to repair it. He went to an independent guy and it cost $60 to repair. Then I took my car into get an alignment and was told I needed some other work that was like $1400. I don't have the money and I went to get verification of what I needed from someone else and repairs needed didn't match what Tate Boys said at all. Normally I would never visit Tate Boys again, but I have a credit card with them and I don't just have a lot of money laying around, so using the credit card would help. So I know I need rear shocks/struts, so I'm trying to get an idea of what it will cost. My plan is to get estimates from a few companies, not only for pricing but also what needs to be done to my car. I mean, isn't that a normal thing to do? So I walked in and got immediate help because there was only 1 customer in there at the time (normally Tate Boys is pretty busy, especially in the afternoon). I told the gentlemen I wanted a competitive price on getting my rear shocks/struts whatever it is that's back there. I should also say that since I retired I don't drive my car very much. He goes outside and looks at all my tires, comes back in and told me my tires need to be replaced because they are too old. Yes they are because I don't put many miles on them Anyway, they take the car in the shop and then they come and get me to go over the price. I was given a price of over $3,000 to cover front and rear struts, and tires. OVER $3,000. I asked him to just print off the prices. He said they can't print the prices just the part #'s. I said WHAT! Why can't you print them off? He said because you will just take it to someone else and they will get the business. I said well the first thing I said was I'm looking for a competitive price. At this point I have raised my voice, well maybe before this point. I have never known a company to not give prices in order to do comparisons. In fact, I know that Tate Boys has ALWAYS given price estimates. I ask the guy if this is his new company's rule, he doesn't answer. Anyway, they get tired of me and tell me to leave, after I said they are effing idiots. What makes them think they might have the lowest price? Well they probably know I would discover that I don't need everything they tell me I do. Having been a single female many years ago, I have been told many lies, therefore I'm very cautious. I also know in today's climate that they take advantage of men also. I'm certainly not saying all companies do because that just isn't a fact. But as for the Tate Boys of today, I believe they take advantage of people. GB Auto Service deserves to lose the majority of their customers, but it leaves a bad image for the original owners who I believe were honest and did give prices, and in many cases price matched. I would avoid Tate Boy's at all costs, unless you just want a tire rotation and oil change. Robertson Tire and Hibdon (Tires Plus) for tires would be more recommended, along with many independent automotive repair like Precision Automotive in downtown Broken Arrow for other auto repairs. read more

A little over a year ago I went there to get my low tire filled the man told me to pull up to the pump and not to worry about getting out of my car. He messed with the tire of a little bit and then told me my air pressure was fine, my sensor must be out, it would be about $200 to replace. I left and immediately checked my pressure and it was exactly what the sensor said and the sensor went off when I filled the tire. I called the manager and he assured me that this was an isolated incident and his workers were not trained to lie to customers. Today I went in to get new tires. The young lady asked what my tire size was, I didn't know. She ran out to check and then gave me her quote. I showed her were I checked THEIR website and there were much cheaper tires and they were in stock. She kindly explained that those were 17s and I needed 19s. I replied that that was more than I was intending to spend and needed to think about it. Just because I didn't know my tire size doesn't mean that I do not know how to check my tire size. Of course I have 17s. She blatantly tried to rip me off. Watch your back if you go there.... I will not be back. read more

I visited Tate Boys in Broken Arrow, OK today because of an engine light that came on a couple of days ago. I got there on Saturday about 10 am. I left my vehicle and received a call in about an hour and a half. The problem was diagnosed and I was given a price for repair. In approximately two hours a gentleman called me and said the vehicle was ready. When I went to pay my bill I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was CHEAPER than the quote. Tate Boys Tire and Service on Aspen in Broken Arrow is not a good service center to take care of your vehicle if you want fair pricing, quality work done, or short wait times. First of all, you would expect to spend between $40 and $80 on an oil change depending on the kind of oil you need and how much oil your vehicle requires. At Tate Boys Tire and Service, you will spend anywhere between $100 - $120 for a routine oil change. They also charge twice as much for labor than most other places in town. Secondly, you would expect that a professional service center would have employees who are properly trained to work on your vehicle so that they know if there is something that needs to be fixed and that if a tech made a mistake they would admit to it and then correct the mistake. Unfortunately, the techs at Tate Boys misdiagnose issues and make suggestions about issues requiring more work to be done quite frequently. I took my vehicle in to have an oil change and a light bulb in my taillight replaced and was told I needed new lower rocker arms, wiring harnesses, transmission, a serpentine belt, and a new gasket on my oil pan. I had them change the oil and fix the taillight then on the way home I noticed that my light was still not working. I called the service center and was informed it was working when they inspected it before I left and that their techs were not responsible for anything that happened after I got my keys back. I took my vehicle to a different service center that informed me there was nothing wrong with my vehicle and that the service techs at Tate Boys had installed my taillight wrong which is why it was not working. Finally, when you go in for routine service you shouldn't have to wait long for the service to be performed. With an oil change, you would expect to wait maybe an hour to an hour and a half if they are swamped. At Tate Boys when you ask about how long it is going to be they will tell you about an hour. That hour is how long it will be before your vehicle is even pulled into one of the service bays. The longest I have sat in the lobby at this location is 4 hours for an oil change. The last time I was there the techs were laughing and eating pizza and joking around rather than staying on task and getting the job done. I watched them hang out around their toolboxes while my car sat on the lift for 2 hours with no one working on it. I would not recommend that you take your vehicle to Tate Boys in Broken Arrow unless you enjoy being overcharged for low-quality service or you like to sit around for hours waiting for your vehicle to be returned to you. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place, or Catoosa location specially. We had new tires put on one vehicle and they claimed it needed aligned even though we didn't have any issue with it and when we got it you had to drive with the steering wheel completely to the right to drive straight and had to take it back. Had an alternator replaced and car still would not stay running and they claimed everything was good with the alternator and needed to take it somewhere else to figure out the issue. Took it somewhere else..... it was the alternator. Fast forward to today. New tires, claims needs alignment and steering wheel is crooked again!! Have to drive back tomorrow to have them try to fix it. They are 0:3! You'd think dropping $1000 every visit they could at least attempt to do their job correctly. Save yourself time, money, and headache and go somewhere else. read more

I called Tate Boys a couple of times for pricing before I took my car in. Both times the people I spoke with were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I was surprised the same to be true when I brought my car in for a transmission flush. The facility looks like it works efficiently, and the tire show room/ waiting room was very clean with comforts like leather seating and beverage options. When I picked my car up, I was surprised I didn't get a run-down of other things they noticed or recommend for me to do with my car, but that's not a negative. I am thankful I wasn't up-sold. Excellent service. I had small leak in three of my tires, they thoroughly checked them out and could not find any punctures. They applied some type of sealer around the rim of each tire.....that did the job, I have not had to add air to any of the tires in the last 3 months. NO CHARGE!. I highly recommend them. read more

After being quoted $650 from the dealer for front and rear brakes, rotor resurfacing on my 2011 Escalade, I decided to call around for quotes. Wow! I'm so glad I did. Chris Tucker at Tate Boys Broken Arrow quoted $280 total for factory parts- Ceramic brake pads, rotor resurfacing, the works! I dropped off my car then received a call an hour later from Chris. He informed me that my front brakes were just fine (still @ 70%) and all they did not need replacing at all right now, only the rear ones. Needless to say, HONESTY IS SO REFRESHING! *UPDATE* While we did not appreciate the initial service we received from Tate Boys, we did appreciate the manager trying to make this situation right. Our tires were upgraded and replaced; we have been driving on the new tires for a few days now and no problems so far. Thank you for trying to correct the situation for us. We bought 4 new tires from this location Saturday and drove the car home. Went to drive it on Sunday morning and one of the tires had gone flat already. Two others weren't holding pressure. Took the car in today and the flat hadn't been properly inflated, another had a nail in it, and they couldn't say why the third tire had problems. (The nail couldn't be produced for me to see, by the way.) If there's a problem with 75% of the work done, I question the competency of the staff. Shame on you, Tate Boys! We will never return as there are plenty of other auto shops that are more deserving of our business. We will also be letting all friends and family in the area know to NEVER trust this location. I went to Broken Arrow Tate Boys for an oil change and tire rotation on my 2015 Subaru Outback. I left the vehicle with them with instructions to the service advisor and the manager not to check the cabin filter as I had just replaced it. I received a phone call about 2 hours later requesting the location of my lug nut key. Because we were near by, I told them that I would be right over to get the lug nut key. Upon arrival, found the mechanic with the service advisor looking on just finishing placing back the cabin filter. The mechanic had already riffled throughout my car looking for the key leaving greasy hand prints all over the interior. Upon later checking, found the mechanic had placed back the filter upside down. Also, he broke off the pneumatic arm connected to the glove compartment. Also, the mechanic failed to check the tire pressure and the front tires were under inflated. I spent over 3 hours cleaning the interior of my vehicle afterwards. read more

Today Tate Boys saved me $200. I was sure that my car needed brake pads and new rotors. I made an appointment to have new pads and rotors for my car. After they put the car up and checked they showed me my pass were 75% and they could turn the rotors. They could have easily done the job I thought I needed and made more money but they didn't. Honest people and it isn't the first time I have left with a car repaired and spent less than I expected. I highly recommend Tate Boys. By the way I was able to get a quote and make an appoint through their website which I appreciate it. Saves me time. read more

I came in first thing this morning when they opened at 8 I was the 4th vehicle here for a alignment and oil change. It's now been 3 hours and they are still not done claiming that there was 10 car in front of me. There wasn't even 10 cars to work on when I got here so I don't see how that's possible. I have used Tate Boys for the last 25 years. Used to be under a different name, which I wont mention, but they have always been over the top for me. Free flat repair, even when we first went there and hadn't bought the tires from them (those were the last tires we didn't buy from them), final bills being lower than the original quote, repairs that we had been told needed done that ended up not being necessary, and just plain over the top service. One of their technicians actually drove to my sons car which had a flat and was sitting beside the road during his lunch hour and changed the tire for him because his jack didn't work. He even risked life and limb when the car fell off of the jack. He quickly threw the spare into the wheel well to keep the car from hitting the ground and doing more damage. My son has absolutely no car skills and constantly is going to the Broken Arrow location to ask their advice. They always take care of him and never whine about the free advice they give. They first quoted me $70 per axle on the phone to change rotor, pads, and sensors (parts provided by me) then when I arrived there, they quoted my $90 per axle then after waiting for 1 1/2 hours, the receptionist came up to me and told me that the mechanic wants $118.5 to finish the job. I got a flat tire and did not have a jack or spare (they were stolen) they loaned me tools and a courtesy car to get my flat tire off my car and bring it to them to mount a new tire. Came for a front end alignment and decided then and there that they were the ones for me and my jeep. I am super picky about who handles my baby and they treated "digger" and me just great. They are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The trifecta of car care. The cost is comparable to other places and they are open late for us working folks.
