My mom and I were in the Mississippi area to see a casino show when we noticed a new hot pot spot had just opened nearby. I was even more surprised when I found out that it was part of the Tasty Pot franchise since they're usually located more in highly Asian populated states like California & Texas. At first, our expectations weren't really high since hot pot places in areas down here and in Louisiana are typically hit and miss, but after trying it out, we were highly satisfied with our dining experience here! For starters, the service was really nice. Pretty friendly and not too pushy. The inside decor was clean and trendy as well. As for the actual hotpot, the quality is just like the ones we've tried in California & Texas! Portions were big, taste was really flavorful, & prices were reasonable. I got the Beef Hot Soup HP ($18.99) while my mom got the Thai Tom Yum HP ($21.99). Both HP dishes had good amounts of meats and veggies, & the broths had enough flavor to match their dish names. As for drinks, we just got the standard Taro & Jasmine Milk Teas ($6.29 per drink). Even though they're standard, the milk teas still tasted good. My girls and I went last night. The soup was perfect for the weather! The service was a little slow( it was not busy) but In all fairness they only had two employees I seen on the floor one serving and one doing tables. The different seasonings were a nice touch to amplify the flavor; however, it lacked a tad bit of sodium. We came for lunch, and there was only one table dining in. It took a few minutes before the server came from the kitchen to greet and seat our group. There was another person who saw us when we walked in, whom I'm assuming was the owner or manager, who didn't bother to address us either. Either way, we got sat and quickly ordered. They offer individual hot pots that are precurated, or you can build your own. There are other items on the menu and add-ons, too. Honestly, the hot pots are plentiful enough to share with someone. Well, I guess it also depends on how much you can eat. Now, for people who can not consume pork, the hot pots may NOT be for you. Because after the hot pots were served, they asked if we wanted more broth, and they used one single kettle to refill everyone's broth, regardless of what you ordered. Also, for the preset hot pot selections, you can not edit, substitute, or modify them. We asked if a topping could be eliminated and was told no, which was weird. We didn't ask for it to be substituted, only eliminated because the person couldn't consume it. Anyways, we waited a long, and I mean a LONG time for our meals to be delivered. Someone jokingly said they had to go buy some ingredients for our meals, and it was true. The same person who didn't acknowledge us from the beginning came walking in with bags of vegetables and such. And yes, our food finally came out shortly after that. Once again, pots were plentiful. The taste was slightly bland. You have to try and find your way to the very bottom of the pot and mix up the seasonings, flavors. Service was slow, considering there were only four tables by the end of our meal. I can't imagine how they'd handle a full house. Or maybe we went on an off day? Before I even comment, I was ordering strictly for my child, who has been begging for hot pot. That being said, no spicy and nothing broad. Very basic. If it were me, I would have added so much more. We got served by Destin who was super cool and answered our questions. We ended getting the Taiwanese, beef hot soup, miso, chicken wings and the creamy cheese hot pots. All of the dishes came out extremely hot with a closed flame to keep it hot. You do have the option of turning the flame off. The dishes were packed to the rim. It had a variety of seafood, meats, and vegetables depending on what you get. Definitely share with someone if you get one of the larger dishes. There is a lot of cabbage in the dishes as well. Tasty Pot MS I love Tasty Pot in Cali, so I was so excited to learn that one is opening in Mississippi. We've both had pretty long weeks, so we slept in today, and decided last minute to drive 3 hours to D'Iberville, MS for some hot pot. We started off with Karaage chicken. I got the stinky tofu pot, added a lobster tail, he got the Thai seafood pot, add beef tendon, and fish ball roe, with Vermicelli. Y'all need to get this Karaage! Best we've had in Mississippi. Karaage is Japanese fried chicken bites that's very lightly breaded. This was juicy, tender, lighted breaded and fried, and perfectly seasoned. The portion was big, that's bad because it was so good, I ate half of my belly in chicken before the main dish. The pots had a ton of meat and veggies, he enjoyed his pot. My stinky tofu wasn't as potent, and it was fried instead of steamed, still good though! Their pots had a ton of meat and veggies, so come hungry. So glad to have a Taiwanese hot pot place in MS now. Extremely below-average hot pot experience. I ordered a curry pot with lamb, mussels, Napa cabbage, and bamboo shoots. The meat comes overcooked/chewy (not rare) which is unheard of at a hot pot place (apparently it's a law in Biloxi you can't serve rare meat?), when I bit into one of my hard-as-rock mussels, I was surprised to hear a loud crunch and had a pain in my tooth- when I spit out the gross taste, there was a 1" crab hiding in my mussel. I told the workers there and they were just like "OH! that's common." I asked if they could take it off my order, to which my server said yes, but at the end when I paid the bill the $4.99 charge for almost killing me was still there (I verified BEFORE paying they removed it, but then when I asked them to print the receipt it was still there) - my total came out to 29$ and I was still hungry and unfulfilled. Not to mention curry broth is +$1.99, which I was not informed of and would have just gotten regular broth if I knew. Sneaky business, still green with the workers, and would not return. I came here two different times to give this place a shot and I got "fried chicken wings" as an appetizer and it came out smelling like honey instead of chicken and I had to send it back because I didn't order honey wings I ordered fried wings. The second time I came I got "crinkle fries" but it came with regular fries and with cheese on top. If I were lactose intolerant I would be pissed because you guys didn't ask me if I wanted cheese but I guess that doesn't matter here huh. Had to bring my own salt the second time because they give you 4 options of seasonings and they all smell like fish food. I went to Tasty Pot tonight! I was ISO something warm to eat like soup. I found out about this place due to a vlog from a girl on YouTube. Happy that I did. I know they are new but the restaurant was very clean. The waitress seemed shy/nervous but nonetheless she was great. She answered any questions I had and even helped me identify items in my soup. The portions are humongous 1 pot could feed 2 people honestly. I loved the gyoza as an appetizer. My daughter had the #4 curry pot and I loved the taste of the broth. I tried the kimchi pot with mild spice. I enjoyed the various items that came in my pot. I like the add on options if you want more items you can get them added to your pot all delicious. Oh I almost forgot I tried the lychee tea and added black tea to cut the sweetness, loved the pieces of lychee at the bottom. I will be back to try different pots. I absolutely adore this place! The food is amazing! The prices are completely reasonable as far as I'm concerned in regards to the quality of the food you receive. The staff is always polite and happy to help. My first time going our server sat with us for over ten minutes explaining the menu and answering all of our questions succinctly and throughly. I witnessed the same patience and attention being shown to the customers around us. The place is always incredibly clean, and there's artwork on the wall that's perfect for a cute photoshoot with friends and/or family! I've been back multiple times since our initial visit, and I've been recognized by a few staff members at this point, and we are always greeted with a smile and light conversation. Also, I'd like to mention that if you are a fan of boba milk teas, then this place is a new, hidden gem for the coast! The teas are delicious. The boba is always perfectly cooked. The prices are surprisingly low for much you receive and how tasty it is! I've tried most of the boba places around the Coast, and I can without a doubt say that Tasty Pot is my new favorite spot. If you're a picky eater, the lack of substitutions may turn you away from Tasty Pot, but I highly recommend giving it a try before you judge! Their Beef Hot Soup, for example, is pretty simple with its ingredients. It's nothing too crazy for someone with a less adventurous palate, and it can definitely be shared between two people! If you're still unsure, they give you the option to make your own pot from scratch! We shared a pot that had so much food in it that we ate our fill there and then had enough to bring home for two more serving there! The two Little kids split a pot of broth with noodles and dumplings. They both ate till they were full and then had enough to bring home for dinner later. My son loves boba, so he got the taro tea. Said it was the best he's ever had. We also tried the Mochi. I do not care for mochi typically (it's the texture), but I actually enjoyed a few bites of the lychee, ube, and mango flavors. We will come back for sure. The only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because we had to wait close to 5 minutes to be acknowledged/ seated even though there was only one other table at that time. Good food but bad service. Our server, Jennis, was a little awkward and acted like he didn't want to be there. I asked for no pork in my soup, and halfway through my bowl I asked the waiter what some of the brown pieces in my soup were, thinking it was some kind of vegetable, and he wouldn't tell me what it was. Instead, he just told me "don't eat it" after I had already eaten it. After asking multiple times, he told me it was pork blood cubes. He was very dismissive about the situation, and didn't offer any solutions. He also made a comment when our table ordered extra rice, whispering to himself "why'd you get noodles too?", sounding very judgmental. Overall, the server was very disorganized, not knowing who ordered what, and clearly did not care about our table's dietary restrictions. Very disappointed.
