First time here, we had the stir fried green beans, pan fried pork pot stickers, pork and shrimp dumplings, chicken chow mein. You order then sit down, the service ordering was good. The restaurant was clean and everything was tasty. Especially liked the green beans and potstickers. The parking in this area is not the best so just be prepared.

These soup dumplings were so delicious! They had a good amount of meat and broth and were comparable to dumplings I've had in SoCal! They also have a dumpling sauce, idk what's in it but it is incredible!! The garlic green beans were also cooked to perfection. We also ordered fried rice and that was the highlight of our meal (not pictured). Overall, I'm really impressed with this place, their dumplings are just as good at din tai fung's and an amazing find for a casual asian spot in NorCal.

This was my first time visiting Tasty Dumpling, and I stopped in with a few friends to try a variety of dishes. We ordered a few items to share, and I really wanted to like this place because the food itself was actually pretty decent. Unfortunately, the service ruined the whole experience. From the moment we walked up to the counter, it was clear that the employees were more invested in their personal conversation (which had nothing to do with work, by the way) than in helping us. When we placed our order, the employee acted visibly irritated, eye rolls and all, like we were an inconvenience for simply... being customers. Not a great first impression, but we brushed it off. Then came the awkward part: our food came out at completely different times, with zero communication, no customer service, and no regard for the basic dining experience. Will I return to this location? Absolutely not. But I am open to trying a different location, in the hopes that the staff is better trained in basic hospitality. Tasty food won't save a place if the attitude at the counter makes customers feel unwelcome. Do better guys.... do better

Bad service and I found various eggshells in my fried rice. I went in person to order to go food. I sat down and about 25 minutes later I asked the server if my food was done and it had been done waiting on their counter for 20 minutes. Next time, save your customers some time and let them know their food is ready. Then I got home and I was eating my fried rice when I felt pain from biting onto something hard. I spat it out to find eggshells, I looked through the rice and found 3 more pieces and one was pretty big. I don't even want to imagine how painful it would have been if I accidently swallowed some of those eggshells. If you order fried rice make sure you check all of your rice for eggshells!

We stopped in around lunch time and ordered a Chocolate Milk, Scallion Pancake, Cheese Ragoon, Shrimp & Pork Xiao Long Bao & Combination Dumplings(Chicken & Corn, Beef, Tasty Shrimp & Pork & Shrimp.) I'd return for the sweet and yummy ragoons and mouthwatering soup dumplings! I'd like to try more flavors of the steamed dumplings as well to see what I like. They weren't labeled and our toddler ate half of them lol! Our family of 4 shared and loved everything! This Small business has lots of seating available if you're coming in a group and the staff are very friendly! We came in on a Sunday and it was bustling! They also have a 2nd location on Crocker Dr! 4/5 stars! SYOY! :-) *Song Credit: 经年 byEnjoyMusic Site: https://enjoymusic.ai

My friends and I checked out Tasty Dumpling for dinner last night. I have been to the other location by Sac City, but I was still excited to check out this location last night. It is located in the same plaza as Urban Plates on Fair Oaks Blvd. This location is a little bit larger than Sac City, but the setup is still the same. We ordered the Combination Dumplings (Vegetarian and Pork and Shrimp), Cheese Rangoons and Cold Noodles to share. It was more than enough for the 3 of us to split - we still had a good amount left over! Everything was really good - just like the other location. We all enjoyed the 3 items and left full and satisfied. The Cold Noodles were my favorite though - they are always so light and refreshing - I recommend getting the spicy sauce on the side - it is so good on the noodles. The Cheese Rangoons were sweeter than I like, but I still really enjoyed them and I also enjoyed the Dumplings - they each had the perfect amount of filling. Staff were a bit awkward, but friendly nonetheless. Food came out fast and hot. There are still many items on their menu that I want to try so I will definitely be back. Check them out!

My family and I visited Tasty Dumpling, located in the Campus Commons, on Fair Oaks Blvd in Sacramento, CA. Upon entering the restaurant, we were promptly greeted by an employee and we loved the aroma waffling out of the kitchen. We ordered after contemplating so many options: pork and shrimp xiaolongbao, combination dumplings, cheese rangoon, scallion pancake, and chocolate milk. Xiaolongbao is the term for soup dumplings and my family loved them! We chose chicken and corn, beef, tasty shrimp, & pork and shrimp steam dumplings for our combination dumplings. We wished they were labeled which dumplings were of two but they all tasted great. My toddler absolutely loved the cheese rangoon and scallion pancake, eating 3-4 pieces of each dish. Cheese rangoon was tasty and sweet while the scallion pancake paired with a little sauce was savory, earning 5 star review from me: Thank you, Tasty Dumpling, for the all the wonderful flavors brought inside the dumplings. Next time, we want to try the fresh noodles and other options on the menu.

Veggie and pork potstickers (we ate two before I remembered the camera eats first!) amazing taste and texture.

I don't know how I have survived without this place in my life this long. I lived in Japan for 6 years and traveled quite a bit throughout Southeast Asia. When I say these are the BEST dumplings I've ever tasted, it's no exaggeration! The service was friendly and prompt, and the restaurant was super cute! Art on the walls, comfy seating, good noise level (not loud). I can't wait to go back and try more things off the menu. This is definitely in our weekly rotation now.

We visited this spacious Chinese dumpling restaurant, which also has its own parking lot, which made dining convenient. You order at the counter, and they will give you the number, and then they serve you food. We ordered the pork XLB (soup dumplings), a mix of beef and shrimp dumplings, and shrimp chow mein. Everything tasted flavorful and well-prepared. The XLBs were impressively large, with juicy, non-fatty fillings that made them especially enjoyable. The steamed dumplings were also excellent -- very juicy without being greasy. I requested less salt and less oil for the chow mein, and it still turned out delicious, with good flavor and texture. Overall, it was a satisfying meal in a comfortable setting. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving dumplings.

I went to the tasty dumpling last night with my boyfriend and YUM! The service was good and the dumplings even better! I do wish the spicy dumplings were a little more...spicy, but with enough of chilli oil, anything can become spicy! I also ordered the hot tea and it was so little mediocre, but you can't expect too much from a tea bag! Overall the restaurant vibe was pretty chill and relaxed, great for large groups! There was def more large tables than 2 person seating options! Would def recommend!

Place is reasonably priced and the dumplings have a lot of meat. They are a bit salty. But other than that I loved it.

The restaurant itself is clean. The cashier and waitress are friendly and patient. We ordered the pork potstickers which was very flavorful! Good amount of filling and good size overall. I am a big fan of pork potstickers in general and these are pretty good! We also got pork & shrimp steamed dumplings which were good bite size and good flavor too. Overall, I think this is a good spot when you're craving some good dumplings!

I really wanted to love Tasty Dumpling, especially with the bubbly personality of the person who took my order and sitting in a spot where I could watch them freshly making the dough and dumplings. However, I found the food mediocre. The display in which it was served was fantastic, and the buns were clearly freshly steamed. There was a bit too much dough compared to filling in my opinion. It took several bits to get to the filling on either one (I ordered red bean and pork), and only took a few bites to eat all the filling. The red bean bun overall had great flavor and texture, just I really would have enjoyed less dough and more filling. The pork one was not my favorite. The pork looked like a small, cheap, frozen patty. I will say it did taste better than it looked, and on closer inspection looked probably made in house (uneven, visible pieces of ingredients). However, it was so tiny that it was not very filling. I was expecting more of shredded pork filling all the empty space as I have had at other places. I might come back to try something else, but overall I was not as impressed as I had hoped to be.

There was a sign that says to take the QR Code to put in my order. I stood there by the counter thinking ok someone will come eventually. A man came to counter and greeted hello and next thing you know it he walked to the back of the restaurant where the kitchen was. I scratched my head thinking, OK I GUESS THEY WERENT KIDDING about ordering through their QR CODE. I had to turn off my WIFI on my phone because XFINITY WAS interfering with my browser access. I'm stepped outside in front of their restaurant and ordered. I ordered their bento with a garlic sausage and a beef soup. What's bad is by waiting in their showroom dining area, I was never given a receipt to confirm if I put in my order. I'm not even sure if it went through. My card confirmed they took my money. So I guess it went through. Their QR code app doesn't even have a way to tell me if I made the order or not. Checked my email and still no receipt. My food was ready in 5 mins. On my way out as the young man handed me my package, I asked him "is this how people normally pay by QR CODE?" He answered with a hesitant tone, "Yes " I replied, "ok just checking." The Garlic Sausage reminded me of the Filipino Garlic longaniza. Slightly different. Maybe it's lighter but it tasted good. There was steamed cabbage and garlic seaweed. Pretty good. I think the food reminds me of home style cooking.

Despite there being endless selections in Sacramento sometimes the American Chinese options are .... bleh ... They are either too oily. Mediocre taste. Overpriced. It's hard to find one that really stands out. Recently my coworkers and I all pitched in on takeout from here for Lunar New Year and ordered five dishes as takeout. One of my coworkers was the one who recommended this spot. Let me just say the food was incredible. The seafood chow mein was the standout dish out of everything. Loaded with octopus tentacles, scallops, shrimp. Feel like half the time you get seafood options these days they skimp out but this place did not disappoint. The fried rice was a little more unique than I've personally tried before with pieces of beef and cabbage. But still very tasty. And the pork dishes we got including the sweet and sour were just incredible. One thing I do want to mention was some pieces of the pork did have a bone attached, but I honestly didn't mind it much. The flavor made it up for it. Also inside of this place looks very modern, clean. Since we only got takeout I can't say for certain service for sit down but ordering and getting our food was simple. The staff were very kind and friendly. Again, THANK GOD I finally have a good Chinese food option. No more oily salty food or Panda Express.

So I'm planning my next trip here this week so I can enjoy the amazing cucumber salad (so fresh, crunchy and garlicky), their pepper beef clay pot (sizzling rice at the bottom for the win and big portions), their spicy tofu (umm what?!? So crispy) and their awesome skewers (the pork belly is my favorite). The space is small, so if you're planning on dining in during peak times, you may want a back up or take it to go as they only have a handful of tables inside and a few tables outside. There is parking but it is shared with other business so can get busy. The service is wonderful! The hostess/waitress was very friendly and everything came out relatively quick. The clay pot does take some time (they need to cook up the rice to get that awesome crunchy bottom) so place your order for that first, and then look at the appetizers and skewers as they come out fast. During this time a group came up behind us and I thought they were after us. One of the server waved in our general direction after cleaning up and splitting the table, so I thought they were gesturing to us since it has already been 10 minutes of waiting. Wrong, it was to the group behind us. Maybe it was communicated in mandarin that they had a reservation, I'm not sure. I waited for the next empty table, which was also taken by yet another group that magically appeared behind us as if they knew they were in line. I decided to leave after this. My issue is that I looked and talked to the staff multiple times and at no point, did they indicate there was a waitlist, nor did they take my name, or anything about people in front of us. It was really frustrating because being told it would be a few minutes set the wrong expectation. This is not the only place to get skewers so if you're left confused where you are in line, just come another weekday, speak mandarin, or go somewhere else like I did

Apparently the register went down shortly after I hung up. When I arrived the line was almost to the door and the place felt very busy. She was polite and clearly doing her best. My order had already been sitting on the counter, but since the register wasn't working she had to ask again what I ordered. While I was waiting, two customers behind me walked out and another canceled her order. It probably would have helped if customers were notified right away that the register was down. I also noticed dine in plates and bowls of soup being placed on the counter near the register where customers were standing, with a lot of activity happening around them. Eventually the system came back up and I was able to pay, but by then my food had gotten cold. For about $75 for five items I expected a better experience. The shrimp and pork dumplings had a noticeably strong fishy flavor and the beef roll was cold and lacked flavor. I understand technical issues happen but better communication and fresher food would have made a big difference. If the service flow improves I'd be open to giving them another try.
