My boyfriend and I are foodies and love trying new spots, especially when it comes to donuts. So when we heard about this family owned business from Morelia, Michoacan, we had to go and support. My family is from Morelia, so I really wanted to go check them out. We went to their grand opening earlier today and are really happy that we made the drive out from Long Beach for it. We ordered a dozen donuts to share with friends. We ordered two of the coconut whip, two of the blueberry, two of the nutella, two of the peanut butter crunch, two of the apple pie filled, and two of the oreo flavor. So far we've tried the coconut whip and the blueberry flavor. We really liked the coconut whip as it has a light coconut flavor. We also really appreciated that the donuts are light and fluffy. Both of us strongly prefer yeast donuts over cake donuts, so we were happy campers. We also ordered 3 drinks to try. We ordered a strawberry Italian soda, mango chamoyada, and a caramel macchiato. The drinks were also really good and sweetened to our liking. Service was great and everyone was friendly. The space is small but very cute and colorful. This is more an issue with the service than the quality of the food. I purchased food from them during the soft opening and was "encouraged" to buy more than I initially wanted and didn't mind because of the quality and I figured they were working out the kinks. I was one of the first 15 at the grand opening and was under the impression they'd be giving out gratuity items (as long as I made a purchase, which I did) but was told that I didn't qualify. Went early this morning, first one there, tons of parking, no lines, fresh donuts! Best donut was the Coconut Whip, soft, fluffy, full of cream and coconut, make sure you get a fork and maybe a knife, it can get messy! I also got a Boston Cream donut, it was good but not as unique or tasty as the Coconut Whip IMO. Also got a few donut holes, one chocolate, maple, and a glazed. Good but traditional. Next time I will try a raspberry jelly filled donut, and a maple bacon, both looked good! Service was fantastic, the gentleman (owner?) who helped me was very nice and accommodating. The grand opening happened today at noon, and I was actually 1st in line! This is the very first location in the states. They have been an established donut shop in Michoacán Mexico for the past 10 years. Friendly family owned with hopes to open up multiple shops here in the US. My favorite donut flavor here is the Coconut Whip! It's got a thin layer of coconut cream all around it with super soft coconut shavings coating it completely. The Custard Filled Chocolate Glazed Donut is a close 2nd! The Blueberry one has a yogurtie taste, which is very good, and the Original Glazed is one of the best classic glazed donuts. I hope they come out with more flavors, like the ones I saw that they have at their Mexico shops. read more

I'm not a regular yelper, but I have got to mention the coconut whip A - MA - ZING!!! Went in there for coffee as we had previously tried it. Ended up getting a bagel combo with an iced coffee which was a really good deal. We saw the online reviews and everyone kept speaking about the coconut whip. I asked if they had any since they didn't have any on the counter and they were in the process of being made. Let me tell you it was worth the wait! This is a nice little doughnut shop. The doughnuts are baked and not cooked in oil like every place else. They are fancy, not the basic glazed etc. I had the Oreo doughnut, and the custard filled. They were both very good, however I didn't see custard until I was halfway through. This is a chain from Mexico trying to make it in the U.S. They hope to have 30 locations. This is only a 1 star based on disappointment not on food or ambience but partially a service issue. I would have love to give this a good review but it was closed when I arrived at 9am. I found the sign that said Grand Opening at 12pm but couldn't help but think "why would a breakfast based doughnut shop not have a Grand Opening at like 8am and then do all the "ceremony promotion stuff" at noon?" ... especially when their posted hours are opening at 6am... take this review as a bad first impression rather than a critic of their food but driving 40 min to try this left me frustrated... read more

I wish they had a lil bit more variety so far what I ordered wasn't up to par it was a so called mangoneada everything looked good until they made a mistake the ice cream had dairy a real mangoneada consist of real fruit and water ice-cream either frozen or shaved ice would also do but frozen is the way to go and a few other traditional things that this place doesn't use but to be fair I dont think they call theirs a mangoneada. The stars might go up i saw some items on the menu that I would like to try so stay tuned. First timer here! I like supporting local business so I wanted to try this place. I ordered am iced coffee, cappuccino, and creme filled donut with fresh strawberries. The place is small but clean so that is a plus. The man who helped me was friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions. Lastly, what did I think about the coffees and donut - cappuccino was good, the donut was soft and flavorful, and the iced coffee flavored with toasted marshmallow syrup would not be my choice if I had to order one again. Tried this new donut shop. Next to north gate. Got myself a coconut whip donut. It was actually pretty good. I couldn't tell if it was a cake. Or a raised donut. But regardless. I liked it. Not too sweet. Coconut didn't taste stale. Not oily. Whip cream was perfect. Service was great. A bit steep at almost 4 bucks though. Definitely will be back to try the other donuts read more

The coffee prices are reasonable, but the drink itself wasn't quite to my taste--it was stronger than I'm used to, and it didn't come with whipped cream as expected. The donuts, however, are on the pricier side; a basic chocolate donut was $3.00. Considering the shop is located in a lower-income area, the pricing may be difficult for some in the community, especially with nearby options across the street offering donuts for $1.25 or pan dulce for around $1.00 (next door at Northgate). I'm a big supporter of small businesses, so I hope this feedback is helpful. With some adjustments to pricing and a bit more consistency in drink quality, this place has a lot of potential. Forget Krispy Kreme lol walked in on recommendation and these donuts are worth every penny. The coconut whip is absolutely delicious and the flavor is like an almond joy but the actual donut is super fluffy and soft. The donut holes are also fresh and taste better than the average donut shop. The vanilla whip is like a soft crumble cake. I also ordered an Irish creme iced coffee with almond milk and it was very tasty. The pizza bagels are also very good and they provide sliced pepperocinis on the side. The customer service from both father and son was excellent and they are very welcoming and patient. The ambiance is also on point, it is very well lit and the displays are neat and organized. They also have a bottled drink selection (for ex. San Pellegrino, Horizons boxed chocolate milk, Fiji water etc.) Check it out for yourself. These are not your typical Sunday morning donuts. They are pricey, but they are also incredibly good! Even the "classic" donuts were amazing. They're baked daily, and you can tell because they're soft and flavorful and just amazing! No oily flavor or texture. read more
