Small place but amazing Haitian food. Honestly the best I've come to known since i moved here in the last 3 years. They only accept cash and have an ATM but if i were you I'd just advise you to bring cash. I got over charged once and I'm not sure if it's the machines fault or my banking but you won't sucker me again lol. I always order the legume (vegetables and it has beef chunks in it) or the Tasso (fried goat) with white rice and beans. They give you a small sample of pikliz (some spice pickled sauce we literally put on ERRRYYYTHANG) and charge 50 cents for exact. I always pay the extra bc it's literally amazing. It's worth it. And a little goes a long way so they earned the right to charge it. But anymore and that's being sheesh. Lol. But seriously, the pikliz is amazing. Next best thing to Mom's home cooking! Meals are so fresh and flavorful. I've taken leftovers to my students (American and Dominican) and they enjoyed it! From the time I reheat my lunch to finishing last bite of the scrumptious rice (diri ak pwa) to their insanely delicious vegetables (legumes) to their addictive patties (dozen for $11), I always recieve compliments or questioned about the amazing scent of my lunches. Food is amazing! I love the hospitality and convenience of the location in Hempstead ( 3 towns west of me), just wish they had a Location close to my job in Brooklyn. Family sized portion meals. So far this is the BEST place I've ordered Haitian food from in Long Island. The place is on the small side and it's not really meant for dining in. 99% of the people I see there order to take-out. If I call my food in advance it is available when I arrive to pick it up. Parking is available at the front of the building or at the side streets. The place is clean inside and offers an ATM since they ONLY except cash. When I've had guests come over my place and I didn't have time to cook, I've ordered their platters and patte and every time it has been loved by everyone. My personal favorite is the goat or pork with white rice and sweet plantains! The proportion of food they give you is more than enough and honestly can last you a day or two. read more

For what it's worth the food is good,but the issue with this place is they almost never have what you want. Every Sunday they only seem to have fish patties available and when you ask when there will be more the cashier tells you were not making any...seriously?? At 1pm your not making any more food?? That's unspeakable. Also the location is horrible there's no real parking unless you have a partner ready to sit behind the wheel by the curb at least. Their food is always delicious and fresh. The best griot that I have found on Long Island, or anywhere for that matter! It reminds of a starlit night outside of a club in Kenscoff. Not being Haitian or from Haiti, it was the most stars that I have ever seen in one place and the best griot imaginable. That this place reminds me of that time is saying a lot.
