They make possibly the best Italian sub in the area: reminds me delis in NYC I used to go to in college. Perfectly seasoned oil and vinegar, flavorful meats, and a perfect deli paper wrap make this one of my go-to to-go lunch spots. A true deli with a convenience store feel was something I had been missing when I moved here... until I found this place. With specials like jerk chicken egg rolls, amazing other subs, and a whole lot of snacks to choose from, skip Subway and come support a local business!!

We walked in, read the menu and we were excited to be at this restaurant!! The staff member behind the counter was very friendly and asked if we were here on purpose or by mistake. We told her our reason and she said we were the 13th "mistake" customer. Well, after seeing the menu, viewing the atmosphere and what is offered here, it was a "universe detour" given to us on purpose! Great service, great European shoppe feel, clean, prompt service ( order at counter and food is delivered to your table) and delicious food. Our sandwiches, pasta salad, drinks and dessert were fresh and very tasty. There are plenty of prepackaged perishable and non perishable food items to go, a great selection of wines and premade gift baskets. Great concept. A bar with beer on tap and wines are available as well, for dining in. Fun decor, light and airy.

I forgot just how amazing their menu is, not to mention the quality and freshness of their food! I tried their chicken pot pie soup and a curry chicken salad sandwich on their amazing, soft multigrain bread. But were OUTSTANDING!!! They have a large of selection to choose from when it comes to salads and sandwiches, as well as some regular soups and a daily special too. Many chips and other takeaway items in the store as well. I wish we had one of these in the Fredericksburg area, I'd be there all the time!

The screen with their menu moves rather rapidly and I still don't know if I had more options to choose from. I assume there were more but I went with the specials. Corn chowder was "TASTE-Y" and came with a nice chunk of bread. The roast beef special was a great bargain (You pay more at McD's for junk food.) and the soda fountain offered an interesting variety of choices. There is a nice patio but I ate inside where the noise level was too high for my liking. I am not sure if I'd call this the "Good Life" but then again I didn't purchase any wine from their selection. Overall ... a good deli sandwich and soup plus great service that raised this to four starts!

Their Mediterranean pasta and daily special pasta caught my eye, but it's not something I'd normally go for so I kept looking. I eventually ended up coming back to the pasta and decided to check the price... and was surprised to see it was just $2.50. I was expecting something closer to $5 so I decided to grab two and have one for now and one for later. I enjoyed the tomatoes, olives, feta, and greens. It was a nice assortment of ingredients. If I had more time I would have probably gotten a glass of wine.

The service was very slow and disorganized. It became apparent that the usual server was unexpectedly late and that caused an inexperienced person into that role. She tried, and I rewarded her for that. The cook/owner was beyond loud the entire time we were there. She entertained a couple women, possibly prospective business, and then proceeded to cook and serve their meals and then ours. Loud loud loud. The Bleu cheese dressing was basically mayonnaise, though lettuce for my salad was fresh and yummy. The decor was an unusual and unappealing hodgepodge of new and old. In general, the place was clean. I doubt we'll return.

The lady who helped us (Jennifer I think her name was) is so sweet and friendly. They haven't been open very long but you can tell that they know what they are doing and the correct way to take care of their customers. Prices are exceedingly reasonable. She told us that they were working on adding some new options (pool tables, karaoke, possibly darts) and that they wanted to be a restaurant and bar without being a typical bar. Nice, down-home style service and cooking. We tried to stop in on a Sunday after we had been up visiting my sister-in-law in Petersburg and discovered that they are closed on Sunday's. On a Friday night we had planned to go to the Virginia Diner for an early dinner and decided to stop in here again....BEST DECISION EVER! I had the meatloaf and mashed potato's and my husband had the fried chicken plate...excellently prepared, plated and delivered. On another upside, the young lady is VERY attractive and she seems to be aware of it but NOT in an egotistical way at all. She made sure to address me first every time she came to our table and engaged in conversations that were funny and enjoyable. Very well done and I hope this place sticks around!
