My mom and I are not some olive oil expert but We want to try something more organic and high quality so we came here. They sell many other things other than olive oil such as vinegar, cook book, plates, soap... After the lady greeted us we told her we want some olive oil but we didn't have much knowledge about olive oils, she patiently asked us questions to guide us what we prefer such as if we like it stronger or lighter, the price range, if we want flavored or non-flavored etc. The other staff are nice and friendly too, they said another customer love the olive oil we picked and we picked the right one. There are little paper cups for us to taste them too. At the end we brought a small bottle of olive oil that cost $15 but I think it's worth it because the taste of it is really strong so I don't need to put a whole lot on my salad or pasta like the oils I bought from regular grocery stores. Overall the staff are nice, the store is clean, the price is a bit high but fair, I will come back to try other kinds of olive oil! read more

We were killing time in this shopping center when I saw this store. I'd run out of fancy rosemary olive oil so I figured we'd check it out. The store is lined wall to wall with various vinegars and oils. The staff was helpful, though with it being so small and quiet I might've preferred if they'd been just a touch more hands off. I was happy to try samples of the different oils, and I did intend to buy some, I just wish I'd been left alone a teeny bit. Anyway, I bought mushroom and sage infused oil for myself and garlic infused for our pet sitter back home. Both tasted great. read more

I'm a huge Olive Oil user. And I'm very particular about not buying lamp oil. Haha. The people here are very knowledgeable and happy to help. Which you will need because it's a lot to take in. There's probably around 50 different Olive Oils to try! It's crazy! And there are little sample cups so you can taste to your hearts desire! I myself love the infused Olive Oils. There's good news and bad news in regards to Savor the Olive. The bad news first! The employees at the Hilltop location are so incredibly rude. I wouldn't talk to my dog the way I was spoken to in there. I was called out and yelled at from across the room because I, how dare I, was going to put some balsamic vinegar in a bottle. I was informed not to touch anything. The woman claimed that since Covid that's the regulation. That simply cannot be true because I can touch every shopping cart and every utensil in the salad bar line so that is a lie. If they want to change their policies, just change them but do not lie about it and blame it on the government. I'm sick of lies! The good news is that they have a delicious balsamic vinegar 18 year aged at the front of the store. Just don't touch anything! read more

I have been shopping at this store for many years. They have an amazing selection of oils and vinegars. You can taste all the varieties and pick your favorites. I try to do something different each time to vary my meals but I swear by their products. They are extremely flavorful and healthy. They are a bit expensive but for me it's worth the extra money because they add that special touch to all my dishes. I love them most to be used in my homemade salad dressings. SO GOOD!!! read more

What a cool place for foodies (and shoppers)! This shop specializes in gourmet olive oils and various vinegars. The staff was very helpful in finding particular flavors. They have the oils and vinegars on tap so you can select to purchase small or large bottles. I was specifically searching for a black truffle olive oil. They had this flavor available but it was considerably more pricy than their other types of oils, as it was considered a gourmet flavor and was already pre-bottled. It is tasty but not the best I've had. They also have other gifts for home cooks such as seasonings or rubs, and olive oil based bath & body products for sale. terrible customer service and literally got scammed making a purchase from them online with apple pay. i ordered online on the 1st and i never got a confirmation email or tracking update. every time i called and asked for an update the lady (bonnie) would tell me to call tomorrow for someone who knows how to handle the computer. and the person doing the online shipments doesn't work everyday so i have to call on the days she does work to figure out where my order is. why is it a hassle and i have to call them everyday asking for an update on my order and they have no clue what my order is because they are now saying their computer is broken. so instead of issuing me a refund on my apple pay which is direct payment. they emailed me today saying there is something wrong with their computer and they are out of stock of the product i ordered. they gave me store credit instead of a full refund... now what should i do with store credit when they can't even tend to their online business. i live in california not virginia. please update ur website if you cannot properly handle online orders and shipment with ur business. this is ridiculous. now i'm calling them everyday asking where my product is or my refund and all they keep doing is telling me to call tomorrow to talk to someone else. i just want my refund back. read more

Let me first preface this by saying I know zero about olive oils and vinegars. After having our early afternoon hangover recovery meal next door, we walked out and were immediately attracted to the olive plants the store had outside. One thing led to another and the owners were touring us around their store sampling oils and vinegars I never knew existed. From espresso infused balsamic vinegar to chipotle pepper olive oils, there was a ton of variety. The lovely owners explained the possible uses for each one and answered every question we had. My SO and I left with a bottle of aged balsamic and truffle oil. Great thing is you can bring back your used bottles for a deposit return on your next purchase. Something a little different in Virginia Beach! This store is unique in that it deals in Oils and Vinegars very high end but reasonable prices. I never new there were so many different Olive oils. When you enter the Tasting room it has the feel of a wine tasting room the decor is old world meets new and the variety of product is amazing from lemon and garlic infused oils to blood orange and basil. I happened in on this place by chance, looking for a Christmas gift for my mom. I was greeted with one of the most enthusiastic women I have ever met, who is obviously passionate about her business and the product. She let me taste countless olive oils, and had tasting notes for each one straight out of her mouth. After deciding on a Frantoio robust olive oil, she let me taste an aged balsamic vin and it was incredible! I ended up spending more on myself than on gifts...but I don't regret it. This business is incredibly well run and you will be hard-pressed to find a better authority on olive oil and vinegar. This place is AWESOME. Went in to get some truffle oil this afternoon and was blown away by their selection. They have every kind of infused olive oil and balsamic vinegar that you could think of and they are all delicious. They even give you bread so that you can try before you purchase. We only got the truffle oil and strawberry balsamic vinegar but will be back to purchase more. I highly recommend this place for trying new ideas in the kitchen or entertaining. We happened upon this shop after being in the area to have our taxes done. I whole-hearedly agree with all the previous reviews. Really high quality product, knowledgable and friendly owners. What sold us was that we are trying to eat healthier and the owner lady suggested we try using their grapefruit vinegar - alone - as salad dressing. You should eat have lunch at Azars Mediterranean Grill then walk next door to Savor The Olive for a nice experience. I did not know that many tastes could be developed from olive oil or vinegar. I tasted a lot of varieties and did not find one that was not good. Frank had oils for Libya, Greece, Spain, California .......... Some oils and vinegar were flavored... one oil was infused with HOT peppers. I bought a bottle grapefruit flavored vinegar. The quality is still there, but the customer service from my last visit was so abysmal that I will not be returning.
