I had a layover on my way home, so I stopped in to purchase a coffee cup. When I got to my gate, I realized I for got my tumbler, so I returned to the store, only to find it was closed. I could see my tumbler on the counter behind the cash register. I called out but, noone was there, I reached out to security, the attendants at the gate next to the store, then lost and found. To my disbelief, I had the leave without my lovely cup. In hopes they would get it back. Unfortunately, lost and found said, they did not have my cup? I questioned it as I seen my cup on the counter, I made this cup, it was one of a kind. I carried it with me everywhere, I just got overwhelmed with getting to my gate. So someone in this store has my beautiful kuromi and melody tumbler, it is light purple with purple black and pink characters on it. Pkease give me my cup back to lost and found.

Taste Atx is a souvenir shop located in the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport after the security check point next to gate 15. As we all know prices at the airport are extremely inflated but I did enjoy walking around and considering my next gift ideas when I'm in Texas. They have vendors from Salt Lick, Texas Olive Oil, Mickey V's, Texas snacks and Kitchen accessories that say, TEXAS duhh. Shoot if money wasn't an option, I'd buy the whole store. Its worth the stop if you need to kill some time.

Something I've been paying attention to especially when shopping at a local business is customer…read moreservice and friendliness. I'm not sure if the gentleman who checked me out was the owner or a regular employee. Regardless, he did not have a friendly disposition when checking me out. (I am a woman of color for reference) he didn't even greet me which is a simple courtesy. I had to ask him "hey, how are you today" to which he didn't respond and just told me the balance I owed. My fellow friend (white male) checked out right after me and he greeted him! He also asked him how he wanted his items wrapped. (We both had the same items) If the store itself wasn't so nice and full of good merchandise/gifts I would've given it an even lower rating. To management: please know and remind your employees that even a simple hello goes a long way Edit: This seems to be a trend going years back (looking at reviews) with this business and their discriminatory practices. There are better local shops with less AI slop to patronize

Lots of Austin-centric goodies, souvenirs and artists' creations. Sweet, salty & sassy options. Interesting selection of new vinyl collections! Fabulous local shopping gem.

My brother in law (BIL) will be visiting us in Texas from Chicago for the summer starting in June…read more I was supposed to return to work after vacation on Tuesday, but I am too jetlagged for intensive work. Thus, I will not be starting back to work until next Monday. I have some time this week to recover and do a little scouting for things to do for my BIL. We have taken my BIL to most popular spots in Austin, however, we were looking for some new things to do. Thus, I headed to the Austin Visitors Center located on 5th Street near Congress. Let me be the first to say that the Austin Visitor Center has completed changed since I was there last. The last time I visited they were giving out maps, bluebonnet seeds and other trinkets. It is a full-on operation now...y'all! The Austin Visitor center has transformed into a one-stop shop for travel info, local recommendations, and shopping (yes...shopping!). Shopping includes clothing, hats, magnets, stuffed animals, to name just a few. Wow...I was not ready for this paparazzi of items. Other services include free maps and guides, tour booking services, free Wi Fi, restrooms, charging stations and luggage storage for a small fee. In addition, their coffee shop, 5th and Brew, is a nice respite for tourists. The space is large and spacious. The ladies in the Austin Visitor Center were super sweet and helpful! Such a pleasant experience.... Great space...excellent services.

When friends and family come to visit, I send them here (or I sometimes accompany them)…read more You can get anything here, from gifts and souvenirs to maps and coffee (they have a cafe). Tours are booked in and out of the center as well. A good idea if you only have limited time in Austin and want to see as much as possible. It's truly a welcoming place and a great representation of our city. I also like that there is a large room with comfy seating to rest your weary feet after a day of sightseeing, or to prep for your day of exploration. I can't say enough nice things about this place. It's clean and modern. The staff are so incredibly knowledgeable about everything related to Austin. Super friendly too.
