The owner of Task Flooring, Mr. Moore, chose to enjoy a summer camping reunion with family instead of training and supervising his very, very young employees on the job. He rarely showed. When only of the flooring was laid, I questioned the installation via a phone message. What I questioned was that excessive mortar oozing ¼ inch above the tile was left to set over the weekend. The employees also left the red spacers in all weekend. Mr. Moore dismissed my concerns. At the end of the job, bits of red tile spacers showed through the grout. Some tiles were damaged from the oozing grout removal and spacers removal days after it had hardened. I have photo evidence of these flaws. Then a week later, Mr. Moore chose to completely remove this first full and complete installation of the tile floor because the first job was not up to his standards. While I admire his recognition that the first installation needed to be completely removed, I question his initial decision to leave this expensive job in the care of his unskilled installer. So the demolition & dust began again. When he informed me that he would clean and reuse some of the "new" tiles, I agreed only if he guaranteed that damaged "new" tiles would not be used. This reuse of the tiles, however, left some of the edges of the tile chipped. He stated that he would remove any tiles that I didn't find satisfactory at the end of the job. He did not do so. At the end of the job, he then said it would be too difficult to replace the tiles that had the chips. He stated that he would fix them with a mixture of materials. The repair color does not match well. Overall, I would not recommend this company. read more
