Loving all my local seafood restaurants, but I will be back here for sure; again and again and again. Let me say that I've been to sooo many seafood restaurants in my life ( I'm 58) and if you like fried oysters, they do them right, gloriously right. Everyone of those beautiful slightly crispy, perfectly seasoned and breaded ocean aphrodisiacs was an explosion of flavor in my mouth! My wife had bacon wrapped shrimp. She described them as "fully cooked" which is her general preference. She also enjoyed an add-on of clam strips and raved about them all the way home. Service was swift and with a smile but visitors should know that the dining room is outside under beautiful oaks; amazing Don't forget what I failed to mention; they have fresh seafood for sale also. Soft shell crab, snapper, grouper, and shrimp to name a few. Combination restaurant and fish monger! You gotta go.

Inside, you'll find a small space with limited seating and a counter to order at. Lots of tables outside (both on their porch and out back in the beautiful trees), so plan your attire accordingly. Big group? Likely not sitting inside! They have a fairly large wine selection and beverage fridge, so you should be able to find something to make the whole group happy. I had the smoked fish dip, served with saltines and fresh sliced vegetables for dipping, along with the house oysters and a glass of white wine. The vegetables were sliced perfectly for scooping up the dip and made a fresh, crisp alternative to the saltines. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The setup is casual and easy -- you walk up to the counter to order, and they give you a digital pager to let you know when your food is ready. I also appreciated details like the recycled utensils and the overall relaxed feel of the place. The service stood out before I even walked in. Someone was in the parking lot helping direct guests on where to park, which was a nice touch and made arriving easy. Great seafood, friendly service, a relaxed waterfront atmosphere, and a really enjoyable experience. Definitely worth a stop on James Island!

The tuna was perfect, and made as good sashimi as I've ever had. the salmon, seared in a little butter and salt, was as richly flavored and flaky-textured as you could ask. Both were truly excellent. I've never had grouper cheeks before, so I can't compare them to anything else, but these were amazing marinated in lemon, butter, and garlic, then sauteed with onions and finished with butter. The rock shrimp were very good, but lacked a little finesse in the cleaning. The rainbow trout were perfectly deboned, and had a mild but full trout flavor. I heartily recommend seafood from these people - they obviously know what they are doing!
