As an experienced rider, I was looking for a trail ride that would not be the stereotypical nose-to-tail walking trail ride that is so commonly offered, and this trail ride did not disappoint! We were able to ride in a pack, side-by-side each other. We rode from the ranch, out through a pasture, and up a hillside to the top of the butte. On the butte, they let us experienced riders do more than walk on our horses. Amy, Josh, and Josh were so warm and welcoming and shared some history about the area. Fantastic tour guides, and amazing humans. My friend and I were visiting Colorado for about a week, and Amy gave us some recommendations of additional things to do/see while we were in the area, as well. Next time I make it back to Colorado, I would absolutely go back and visit Platte Ranch again. This was my first time in Colorado and this was my favorite experience out of the entire trip! It's such a beautiful way to see the Rocky Mountains. We are repeat customers and this year took a 3/4 day trip to Brown's Falls surrounded by golden aspen. Our Wrangler, KC, is amiable, a great story teller and terrific at managing horses and riders. My family has done a couple of full day rides with KC, and he'll do his best to get you an eyeful of scenery, rain or shine! I think our ride would be a great match for anyone, couples, singles, and families. Mt.
