One of them even bumped into me without any apology. The whole lake and they picked the one spot I was fishing in. Today there's 14 kids and adults out running amok and screaming across the lake. I'm not sure if the staff realizes that there's a whole lake dedicated to kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, and NOT fishing. In the same park. One where you can scream as loud as you want and not bother fishermen. The fishing lake is supposed to be for people to enjoy fishing. If I see these guys on the water, I just turn around and go home or don't even bother fishing. Such a nuisance. Sorry for the one star review. The camp experience is probably great. But you guys are irritating a lot of people out here.

The main parking lot was full when we arrived, but the overflow parking was surprisingly easy. There was someone at the entrance directing cars, handing out the shuttle address, and answering questions. The free shuttle arrived within minutes, had air conditioning, and dropped us off right at the lake. The atmosphere is what makes this place special. It's clean, family-friendly, and surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. You can bring your own kayak, paddleboard, canoe, or other non-motorized watercraft, or rent one there. Life jackets are required and rentals have time limits, but everything was well organized. The water was a little browner than I expected, with some natural tree limbs and debris floating around, and swimming isn't allowed. That said, it didn't take away from the experience. Most people were fishing, paddling around with friends, or simply floating and soaking in the views. If you're looking for a peaceful way to spend an afternoon outdoors, this is a great spot. I had a really good time and will definitely be back.

As grandparents, we felt helpless as we watched his poor choices, loss of self esteem and decent into a lost place. It took some courage on many fronts. We are not wealthy, he was resistant and afraid, our extended family had many dissenting opinions, many felt we were wasting our money. In the end, he had to be accompanied to the Boundry Waters program by his determined mother who absolutely never flys. Her courage in this was an example to her son.
